《Alpha Daryl Reeds》Chapter 17

Dinner was nice, I feel like I knew Daryl a little better. He wasn't really cruel, he was just guarded. After everything with his parents I guess I couldn't judge.
"Then why were you attacking my pack?" I asked.
"I -" Daryl started and cut himself off. He looked sad, like he regretted it or from the actual truth. "I was going after smaller packs. Trying to make my pack bigger, kill anyone who didn't join my pack let the ones who did live. Try not to kill children and women." Daryl said not looking me in the eyes.
I couldn't speak so instead I stood up and grabbed my drink and poured it over his head. And stormed out. The hostess who had seen the whole thing cause she was sitting another couple had her jaw dropped open.
"Close your mouth you slut." I growled at her, which made her close it and turn red in embarrassment.
I don't wait for Daryl to chase after me, I shift as soon as I know I'm deep in the woods around the town we were in. I don't know how long I ran trying to clear my head. I don't know what to think this changed everything.
I stopped for a minute when I looked around I was once again at the pond. I land close to the water keeping one paw in the cold water. The moon was high in the sky, and the stars were bright. I watched my old pack guards look for another attack or watching trespassers. Rouges were somewhat peaceful.
I could hear the same thing on Daryl's side, I wasn't part of Daryl's pack until he mates with me. I could still hear the talking from my old pack. They were mostly boring talking about what they were seeing or about females they thought was cute or wanted to fuck or about their mates.

I shifted back and stood, I had taken my shoes off before shifting and left them at the reatuart I didn't care. I took my dress off, and jumped in the freezing cold water. It was a shock to my warm skin but the night was nice so swimming wasn't that bad.
"Joyce!" I heard my name being called but I didn't get out of the water or call back.
"Joyce." Daryl called relief when he's eyes landed on me.
"Go away," I growled at him. I didn't want to deal with him.
"Come on Joyce." Daryl begged.
"What?" I snapped standing up in the water, showing him that I was naked. He's eyes darken as he looked at my hardened nipples. I growled at him and crossed my arms over my chest.
Not taking his eyes off of me. "What happened to trying to give me a chance?"
"Mhm" I told him. Not the smartest thing to say but I needed time to think.
"I give these packs a new life! They join us, and they get a new house, a job." Daryl tells me.
"I just need time to think." I mumbled under my breath.
I sighed and got out of the water, not caring I was naked or that I'm sure my old pack guards could probably see me. Daryl growled at me, he's eyes full of lust. I smirked. I walked up to him and put my hand on his chest. The feeling of the mate bound was strong, i knew Daryl was loving it from the tent in his pants.
I rubbed my hand up and down his chest as I stared at him. He didn't move just watched me, looking me in the eyes. I grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him down to kiss him. Just as suddenly I was pushed up against a tree. I gasped, but didn't get time to think he's lips were on me everywhere. My lips, my neck and down my chest.

I moaned and just as quickly as it started Daryl pulled away. "No, you're not ready."
I was panting I wanted him, but of course I wasn't ready to mate with him but having sex with him at all wasn't an going to happen. So I just put my dress back on and followed him back to his house.
******
A man was standing outside my door when I woke up. Mind you I wasn't wearing the most clothes. I screamed and slammed the door, I heard Daryl's footsteps on the stairs.
"Joyce?" He calls me knocking on the door, I lead against the door I had locked the door behind me. Daryl pounded on the door, asking me over and over what had happened but I didn't listen. My heart hadn't stopped beating in my throat.
When I calmed myself down I dressed in pj pants. Which weren't any better than my panties but why did I care? Daryl looked at me when I opened the door, he's eyes darkened in with lust, my short shorts were showing off my long legs. I wasn't wearing a bra because Daryl had once told me that this was my house now so I should be comfortable.
"What are you wearing?" Daryl growled at me and looked at the guy who wasn't Kevin. I missed Kevin.
"Pjs." I answered. Walking past him I made a show of showing off, not that I liked that the other girl was staring.
"Change. Now." Daryl growled from what I could guess what clenched teeth.
"Mhm . . ." I pretended to think. "No thanks."
Daryl turned around so fast I thought he'd break his neck. He punched the guy hard in the nose and threw him down the stairs. I screamed, so loud I hurt my own ears. I don't know what the guy had said but he fell with a sicken thump. I rushed down the stairs after him, he had blood coming out of his nose, he had a cut on his forehead. Other than that he was fine. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"What the fuck is fucking wrong with you??" I screamed at him.
"No man is allowed to see you like this." Daryl tells me not even slightest sorry.
"If you ever really want me to be my mate, you've just lost another chance of doing so." I snap at him. I walked back upstairs and slammed my shoulder into Daryl's before slamming my door shut. Fucking Alpha's man.

When the army rangers of the United States collide with the members of the Hunter's Guild, who will win? Updates on Wednesdays/Thursdays Cover is my own creation. Tips to reading: This is my first book, so cliches and tropes are used as the base and then expanded upon. My intention is to make it a casual read but deep if you decide to look closer. I'm not a people person, so my focus and purpose for writing this is to explore the world building and magic system, not necessarily the characters. There won't be a villian until the postgame ;) Author's philosophy: I took an professional personality inventory (through a community college back in 2018) and was categorized as a "double-checker." I'm never satisfied with the work that I complete, and never want to share it with anyone. But this book is a challenge to myself! As a rule of thumb, I will only add to the story. I can't remove elements I've already included (unless absolutely, absolutely necessary). PS, I'm a native English speaker.
