《Alpha Daryl Reeds》Chapter 27

They moved Daryl into his own bed, saying that he would have round the clock care but Daryl had asked the doctors to not keep him in the hospital if something was to happen to him. I nodded sadly as they left me with me and my thoughts. I had missed the war, I hid in the hospital while my pack fought to get Daryl's brother.
I laid next to Daryl. He was warm at least and I had thought about moving us to the next level of trying to share a bed, to actually do, couple things. I only slept with him once the night after we had sex. That had been weeks ago and then we went back to normal, it was like we didn't have sex and finish the mate bound. I wanted to move us along since now I was his partner for life, and his duties were my duties.
Speaking of which I had to go to Daryl's office and see where he was in work so I could take over. Some time later, after I had gotten out of bed to make food, Axel walked through the door as if this was his pack and his house.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him in surprise.
"I'm here to take care of my baby sister."
"I'm hardly a baby." I tell him, putting the jar of pickles on the counter.
"Right the baby having a baby."
"Whatever." I tell him.
"No, I'm here for Jake, he said he's found his mate but she's in your pack." Axel said looking at me.
"Really? Why isn't he here?" I said as I turned towards him. The pickles forgotten.
"He's worried about your mental state, with your pregnancy - which I didn't tell anyone it wasn't Daryl's - and with Daryl being in a coma."

"Tell him I'm fine, tell him I want him to come and found his mate."
"Okay. because he's already here. I just came, as back up in case you got crazy."
I rolled my eyes at him. "How nice of you."
A few hours later I was sitting in one of Daryl's rooms in front of the tv. I was done with the work in Daryl's and didn't want to sit with Daryl. It was so weird I didn't know what to say other than to wake up over and over.
Jake and Axel came in with a girl I didn't know, I hadn't met everyone in the pack yet.
"Hello." Jake said looking at me sideways.
"Assface," I mumbled at him not looking up from the show I was watching.
"Well that's no way to talk to me." Jake said.
"Oh right, welcome to my wonderful home assface." I tell him.
"I'd like to not be called an assface."
"No, no you're still an assface, she's right about that." Axel jumped in.
"Um hello brother of mine you're supposed to be on my side."
"No, I'm his favorite sibling." I said pointing at myself.
"Either one of you are my favorite, I hate you all equally." Axel says.
"But I'm the one who's pregnant." I pout.
The girl gasps at the statement. "Your pregnant Luna?"
"Oops." I say.
"Joyce, I want you to meet my mate, Mollary." Jake tells me.
She was shy. I could tell from her just listening to us bricker like little kids, and she stood behind Jake, with long blonde hair going down to her boobs which she also hid behind. Her blue blue eyes hit me and I was jealous that she got blue eyes and I had brown.

"Mallory." I wave not getting off my ass.
"Yes, to your question Mallory, our little sister is pregnant." Jake tells her.
"Daryl must be so happy." Mallory says kindly.
I smiled tightly, I didn't want to explain what had actually gone down that would be between my family and Rosemary. And Daryl if he ever woke up.
"He is." Axel jumps in and lies smoothly. Jake doesn't tell Mallory that we're lying to her, at least not yet.
"So what are you guys up to?" I asked
"Mallory and I are going to meet mom and dad and then decide if we want to join your pack or have Mallory join my pack." Jake explains.
"Yeah yeah let me know." I said taking a chip out of the bag.
"Well we better get going and we'll tell you." Jake says and heads through the door.
When they leave Axel looks at me. "What?"
"Never-mind Joyce." Axel said.
I didn't get a chance to say anything else as he ducked out the front door. I sighed and turned off the TV and went up the stairs. I had a long day ahead of me tomorrow, I had more paperwork and had to file out paychecks and whatever else Daryl does.

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.
