We settled in silence.

I was in between his legs, his right one being propped on the arm of the couch while the other one was in a right angle, his foot on the floor. I knew he was uncomfortable but since I made no movement to get out of this position, neither did him. My head was against his chest, my hair a mess, and his fingers ran through it, calming me.

"So... do you believe me?" I question, never completely asking.

"It's hard to believe," he stated. "But that's just it. It is hard to believe but so is our existence, so is yours. I've learned more about the world outside of just humans and shapeshifters that are unexplainable but I'm willing to learn because you're apart of that outside world. And confusion isn't going to make me go anywhere."

"Good," I say softly. "Cause I don't know what the hell is going on but I know I can't survive without you."

He chuckles lowly. "Me either."

I looked at the clock and it read midnight. It had been five hours since he had come here. Five hours of memories, anger, tears, more memories, and just silence. I was exhausted. But I was hungry.

"So... Chicken Alfredo?"

"What do the tattoos mean?" he questions as I stood in front of him, at my dresser, deep in thought of what to wear for meeting his father. I was half naked, only in a bra and underwear. My hair was wet from my shower, dripping down on the wood floors.

I looked at him as his eyes roamed over the symbols on my body. "Um," I start. "They're not tattoos." He looks at me confused. "I mean I guess you can call them that because they are permeant but I never did the act of getting a tattoo... I've never really like needles."

"So they just showed up one day?"

"One at a time but yeah."

"Why did you get them?"

"I guess when I accomplished something?" I question. "I'm not really sure." I walked over to him. I pointed my head to the ceiling, showing the skin that covered my pulse. It was a spiral that laid over it, not visible unless I wanted to show it. "This was my first one, I didn't realize it until I was in Italy for my witch training."

His thumb pressed against my pulse, somewhat tracing it tenderly. "What does it mean?" he questioned.

"Rebirth supposedly," I answered. "From when I died and came back to life... This one," I say going to my left shoulder. "Is when I finished my witch training." It was the pentagram, a star within a circle. Slightly faint but visible. "And then this one," I turned slightly to see the back of my left shoulder. "Is when I finished my wolf training... well as much as I could in human form." It was a wolf paw. "And then the rest, I'm not sure. I haven't talked to Jemma about them, they'd just show up randomly, I don't know what I did to... earn them?"

I looked at him as he had this cute look on his face and made my heart tug, remembering something. "Oh!" I say. "Except for this one, I know why I have this one."

I moved my bra a little, not enough to see my nipple but enough to see the symbol over my heart. It was faint, if I didn't know my body I wouldn't have seen it but it was a small heart with the tail of it dangling.

He hesitated, wanting to touch it but not sure if he could. "Go ahead," I whisper.

Glancing at me with his eyes filled with wonder, he brought his hand to the mark. And when he touched it, I felt a spark and resonated throughout my body. And as he traced it, the sparks kept flying. I could hear Lilly purring and it only made me smile.

"What does it mean?" he says softly, still tracing it but his eyes back on me.

"Well... I got when I accepted you as my mate. So I would say it means that I found my person, my soulmate."

He grinned, his eyes sparkling. I couldn't help but return it and his arms eventually wrapped themselves around me, pulling me into the bed. I giggled as he placed his head in the crook of my neck, pecking my skin in different areas. Running my hand over his low cut, I look down at him and was captured by how good he looked.

"You're beautiful Garret," I say.

"Mmm, not as much as you."

"Are you scared?" I randomly asked, confusing him. "About what can possibly come with being with me."

He shook his head. "We'll face it together."

I then I remembered. I would face death again. When I'd get to choose if I wanted to remain on earth or not. Being with him, it was clear what the answer was. But if I were to face death, would he? Would he make it out alive?

That's what scared me so therefore I didn't bring it up to him.
