With the news of his brother still weighing heavily on my mind, Garret soon took my hand and led me inside his home. The inside was just as breathtaking as the outside. It was warm and cozy and inviting and let's not forget, immensely huge.
He led me past plenty of sitting areas into a cozy family room that was more tucked into the house.
Having already passed a grand staircase when entering the house, I was confused about the staircase in the family room.
"Where do the staircases lead to?" I question while looking around the room like I was in a museum.
"The one near the front door is to the bedrooms," he responds. "This one is to the study, game room, the indoor pool, and library."
I shouldn't be surprised by the rooms he listed. In a house like these, you could afford to have all those things. But goodness, even an indoor pool?
He pulled me off to the right where we walked down a well-lit hallway and passed by the dining room.
"This is the family dining room," he explains.
"The family dining room?" I repeat. "As in... there's another one?"
He nods his head. "This one is for our meals with each other, but when we have guests, we go to the guest dining room."
I could understand the name of this one. It was big, no doubt, but also intimate.
"So it's you, your brother, and your dad?" I question.
Garret sighs softly. "Yeah. A lot of the time my aunt from my mom's side will come and visit, you'll probably meet her soon."
"What's she like? Your aunt."
He smiles as he stood at the end of the table, leaning his body against the chair. "A lot like my mom. You would've loved her, and her you. You guys are alike in a lot of ways. She's really kind and compassionate, funny too, biggest sense of humor in our family. She'll make you feel like family, I promise."
I smile, my heart spreading warmth to my body. It made me happy when he spoke of his family, him not doing it so much. I knew of how touchy losing his mom is to him, so I didn't bring it up often. But the look on his face as he looked into space as he spoke of his aunt was heart touching.

"Come on," he says. "I think you'll really like the next room."
Letting him take my hand again, he leads me out of the family dining room and further down the hall until we reach the room at the end of it. Easily stepping inside, it opens into a grand kitchen. I gasp at the sight of it.
It was rustic and had an antique feel to it but it felt so much as home.
Separating myself from Garret as I make my way further into the kitchen, I walk around the counter to see the appliances. Everything was up to par, everything seems so new but also untouched.
Pressing my hand on the cold stove, he says-
"Our cooks cook in the other kitchen, so no one really cooks in here anymore."
Again, hearing that there was another room in this place shouldn't surprise me. And in ways, it didn't, but it saddened me that no one used this space. With the usage of the natural lighting and how everything was so perfectly tied together, who wouldn't want to be in here?
"But, they won't mind if you cook, in here. They like your cooking in fact." I turn to him confused. "The night you made all that food and you sent me home with a majority of it, I shared it with the house, there's not that many of us. They raved about it for days."
"But... if I cook, what will they do?" I question. "I don't want to put anyone out of a job... I don't have to, it's-"
"Emmy," he interrupts, coming over to me. "You cooked alongside Raphael Fournier-"
"Not that he remembers it," I interrupt.
"Okay, but you did. Cooking is your favorite thing to do, and to take that away from you would be the stupidest thing I've ever done. The chefs here also are the maids and butlers, I'm sure your cooking will be just fine to them. And when you don't feel like it, they will manage."
"You're sure?" I question meekly.
He grins. "I'm positive."
"Okay," I say softly. I was trying to mask my excitement in working in a kitchen like this but the grin I tried to hold in easily made it ways out. His matched mine and he kissed my forehead. "Is there more?" I question.

Nodding, we were soon off to see the rest. He pulled me back to the front where we soon passed the guest dining room.
And the staff kitchen.
He led me up the grand staircase to the second floor where we passed by a lot of closed doored rooms that I assumed were guest rooms. How many there were? I lost count. Making a right at the corner, we eventually stopped at the end of this hallway.
If it wasn't for our good stamina, I'm sure a human would be winded at this point. Giving my hand a squeeze, he easily opens the door and we walk inside.
I do a sharp intake of breath.
The room was gorgeous and not at all what I was expecting.
The light that came in from the wall to wall window was inviting and warm. Everything about it was beautiful.
I was expecting a bachelor pad of sorts, mostly black and red since that seemed to be his favorite colors really.
"Is this how the room has always been or did you change it?" I question, stepping inside.
"I might've tweaked a few things," he says. I look back at him with a stare. "Okay, I got the room redone."
Sitting down on the bed, I suddenly laid down, loving how the mattress sunk under my body.
"Oh my god," I exclaim. "I will never leave this bed."
"After I'm done with you," he says huskily, finding his way in between my legs, "you sure won't."
I felt the heat go up to my cheeks. The thought of ever having sex with Garret always made my skin crawl, in the most pleasurable way possible. I had dreamt many dreams of it happening, all being steamer than the ones before.
Whenever it happens, I'm sure it would never live up to my dreams.
Sitting up, I meet his green turning into black eyes. "Don't get me started," I whisper.
He smirks softly. "In time mon chérie," he says, French easily rolling off his tongue. I shook softly from hearing it. Whether he knew or not, but whenever he spoke a different language to me, it drove me crazy.
Softly shaking my head in an attempt to get the sexual tension out of the air, I softly pushed him from in between my legs.
"Next?" I question softly.
He huskily chuckled and grabbed my hand, pulling me onto my feet. Walking me to a door inside the room, he opens it to reveal the walk-in closet.
With first walking in, you could easily see his stuff and the display of the different lifestyle clothing. He pulled me further inside and down the furthest hall on the left where, I assumed, my stuff was.
I was blown away on how much space there was in this closet. At this point, it wasn't a closet anymore, it was a store.
There was space for all my things and yet I doubted my stuff could even feel up this place, maybe not even a dent. The closet already had clothes, shoes, accessories, in it. And just like his, it was organized my lifestyle.
No one truly needs this much space.
"This is ridiculous," I say, mostly to myself.
"You don't like it?" Garret quickly asks. "I can change-"
"No!" I easily interrupt. "It's amazing but... I don't need all this space. I don't need all these clothes. You were worried about how much I had back at my apartment, it wouldn't make a dent in this place."
"You deserve this," he says, him walking up to me from behind. "And more," he whispers in my ear, wrapping his arms around my waist.
He kisses my neck and I could easily understand where he wanted this to go, but I easily shut it down.
"As tempting as christening this room seems, I'm sure there's more to show me."
"It can wait," he says kissing the outside of my ear.
That drove me up the wall and I nearly lost my balance. He easily tightened his grip around my waist to prevent me from falling.
"Garret," I say as he laid tantalizing kisses down my neck.
"Hm?" he questions.
"Stop," I said unsurely. "Before I do something I regret."
"No need to regret anything," he says. "All rooms are soundproof."
And though that was good to know, I quickly got out of his embrace. "You're going to drive me crazy."
"That's the plan," he says with a smirk.
But he easily takes my hand again and leads me out of this maze of a closet back to his- our- room. Going to another door, he opens it to reveal the bathroom.
"This tub," I exclaim.
"Figured you'd like it."
"I..." I had no words. I was rendered speechless again and I didn't even try to fill up the silence with anything.
This was my new home.
