《Hush | on hold》꧁ ᴛᴡᴏ ꧂

I screamed when I got home.
I was so relieved by the fact that I'd survived, that I didn't realize the other important things at hand here. I just lost my job. I'm going to have to call- Damn, I lost my phone too. I groaned and undressed myself before heading into the shower. I let out a sigh and closed my eyes, letting the water trail down my face.
This feels so stressful. Just when I thought I was becoming more stable in life, something like this winds up happening and now I'm a witness to a murder. What am I going to say if the police ask me about it?
I felt chills run down my spine as I remembered the cold look he gave me as he held the gun to my head. I touched my head where it was before and sighed, feels heavy for some reason. If I tell anything to the police he implied that he'd kill me.
I finished washing up and wrapped a towel around my body before heading back to my room. I sat down at my desk and opened up my computer. My hands hovered over the keyboard as I thought what to type into the Google search and I hummed to myself. I started tapping away at the keyboard. 'Giovanni Russo' I scanned through all the articles and I felt my heart beat faster as I read through them.
Everyone in this city knows his name. He's famous for being merciless and cold-hearted- even toward his men. There's rumors that he even murdered his own father, who was the head before him, to get his rank. The way he showed no hesitation when he shot that Lorenzo guy, only makes it all the more believable. I groaned and buried my head in my hand before running my hands through my hair,

Yup. That's it. I'm dead.
I scrolled through pictures of him and I sighed.
"So you're googling me? Can't get me off your mind huh?" I heard a voice say behind me and I jumped up. I whipped around and there he was standing in the middle of my room. He wore a black suit just like the last time when I'd seen him and there was a gun so obviously hanging from his waist.
"H-how did you get in here? How do you know where I live?"
"questa è la mia città." (this is my city)
"I don't speak Italian..."
He pointed to the floor and I looked down at the towel that I'd dropped and my eyes widened. I let out a scream and crouched down, covering my body and he chuckled. He didn't come any closer or even look down at my body, he just turned his head slightly. "I followed you."
"Why?"
He hummed and smiled at me before handing me a phone, "This belongs to you I believe. One of my men took it, I'm just returning it. And I also wanted to apologize for one of my men hitting you, I hope that it doesn't bruise."
I don't know what's more surprising... The fact that he's apologizing as if he did not hold a gun up to my head and threaten to kill me literally five minutes after that or the fact that he didn't hit me himself.
"You came to my house... To return my phone and to apologize?" I asked in disbelief before grabbing it. He nodded before looking around, "I also had to confirm where you lived..." His voice trailed off, "Your house is pretty small. Do you live alone?"
"No, I-"

"Don't lie to me Jeyri."
"Yes..."
"I thought as much."
"Why are you here? It doesn't seem believable that a Mafia leader would go out of his way just for that. You could've sent someone else, you have other people working for you."
"Ah, well that's true isn't it?" He said, "I could have sent my men but then that would make my apology seem insincere. To tell you the truth, I wanted to see them again for myself."
"Them?" I asked confused and he nodded, walking closer to me. He crouched down and I held my towel tighter against my body. His hand reached out and I shut my eyes but he simply caressed my face. "Open your eyes..." He said softly and I did, slowly.
"Just as I thought. They look beautiful. la terra e il mare. " He whispered and smiled. "I had to see it again to be sure... Your eyes, they're different colors."
I slapped his hand away from me and he paused before standing up, "Apologies, I'm making you feel uncomfortable... I got to see something interesting tonight so I'll be leaving now. Take care, Miss Rae and I suggest you find a better lock for your door." He said before walking out.
The leader of the freaking Mafia just came to my house to apologize for someone hitting me, return my phone and tell me my eyes are pretty... Since God wants to make today so unbelievably out of the ordinary,
can I get a billion dollars to go with that? I won't complain about anything else, I swear.

Milton
A Cyberpunk Coming of Age Tale The Apocalypse is ugly. The only lights that work are battery powered or neon. Scroungers kill your neighbors and take control of their bodies. Gang wars run rampant in the perpetual night, as usual, except now, most members have magical spells to defend their turf. Life certainly changed once the Rainbow Letters came. For Milton, things changed for the better. The world became familiar. He could find loot, learn skills, and equip weapons and armor. It was all much easier to understand than the perils of pre-Apocalypse life with its grocery shopping and going outside. Then he discovers Ragnarok, Orchestrator of the Rainbow Letters and all of Milton’s problems. The race to figure out why is on. If Milton is to survive long enough to find answers, he must first be strong enough to confront his worst enemy: himself. * This is work in progress and NOT professionally edited. * ** This story is humorous in the begining, but gets very dark around the turning point. Reader discretion is advised.**

The Helena Chronicles
Espers are really no different than humans; they look like any normal human and in general behave like any normal human. However, there are a few key differences. The max life expectancy of espers ranges from forty-five to fifty. They naturally have a knack for mathematics and are extremely intelligent in general, this is because their abilities rely on the subconscious and conscious calculations. They also have a mysterious energy source they call Focus that is generated naturally by all espers. The continent of Elestveeve is populated by three major factions, each a governing force. On the west of the continent, there is the Noble Houses that subscribe to the Deity Faith. The Houses ruling with the Deity Faith as council since the religion's founding four-hundred years previous. Controlling most of the northeast is WITCH, an organization ruled by powerful espers; claiming the mysterious Genesis as their capital, they are a whispered myth among much of the continent's less technically advanced residents. In the southeast you have Tech City, a towering monolith of a capital with four sky layers and metropolis' leveled deep underground; it is a city brimming with technical advancement and cyber integration. Each faction contends with one another for their evolutionary ideology, by devout religious worship to receive miraculous gifts, unique genetic lineage to obtain ESP, and technological integration to become something more than human. Helena, a young genius and esper, awakes in a dark room with only fuzzy memories and the company of seven other children. She must determine how she got there and how to get back to where she came from. Warning: Due to time constraints, I don't have the time to keep up on my three stories; therefore, Helena will need to go in a stasis chamber until I can find more time to write between work and life. I love my first girl so much! however, it seems she is the least popular among the fans (the poor girl T_T). This world is much bigger than my other two novels and I'm not giving up on it, but simply having to put her on ice.
