Can i just tell you guys how much i HATE the name Dino. Like... 🤮🤮 And its no disrespect to anyone named that IRL I'm just saying. If u watched Banana Fish, you understand why.
"Tuo padre me le dava sempre."(Your father always gave them to me) She spoke as I placed the flowers near her bedside. I let out a sigh and opened the curtains in her room, letting the light come in.
"Flowers aren't enough for forgiveness," I mumbled and she frowned slightly, "sai che non parlo inglese." (You know I don't speak English.)
"si, mi dispiace mamma. Non era niente." (yes, Im sorry mom. It was nothing)
She reached up toward me and I bent down slightly and kissed her hand, "hai già preso la tua medicina?" (Have you already taken your medicine?)
"no, ne sono stufo." (No, I'm sick of it.)
I looked at the bottle of pills on her dresser and the glass of water and sighed. When I reached to grab she held my hand, "Sto morendo, Gio." (I'm dying, Gio.) She whispered, shaking her head.
I've hired the best doctors in the city to make sure that you don't.... Don't just go around saying that. As long as you're still breathing, you're still living.
"ami qualcuno Gio?" (Do you love someone Gio?) She asked before I could say anything and I paused,
"se lo fai allora, prenditi cura di lei come ti prendi cura di me. amala come se fosse l'unica cosa buona nel tuo mondo. Dalle il miglior amore che hai. Amavo tuo padre più di quanto amassi me stesso. Lo perdono per tutto quello che ci ha fatto ma non ripetere i suoi errori." (if you do then, take care of her as you take care of me. love her like she is the only good thing in your world. Give her the best love you have. I loved your father more than I loved myself. I forgive him for everything he did to us but don't repeat his mistakes.)

She slowly slid the ring off from her finger and placed it in my hand. "per lei... prendilo." (For her... Take it.)
I looking down at the ring and my hand and closed it. "Grazie, mamma." (Thank you, mom)
We both jumped when the door to the room busted open and I frowned. "Gio! The shippings been lost!" One of my men said, rushing in.
"H-hey! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!" I hear a voice from out the room say and I stood up. I kissed her hand once again before walking up to him and dragging him by his collar outside the room. I shut the door after me and dragged him down the hall till we made it to the open space at the entrance. Everyone was already there, seemingly waiting for me to come.
I pulled my gun out and pressed it against his forehead and his eyes widened, "Name one reason why I shouldn't shoot you right now?" I said, gritting my teeth.
"I'm sorry sir! It was an emergency!"
"Don't ever barge into that room and speak like that unless you want a bullet through your fucking brain. I don't care how much of an emergency it is. Do you get that?"
He nodded quickly and I stood up before putting my gun back away. I let out a sigh as he stood up and looked at him, "Report."
"A-ah... Well, the s-shipment... Got lost on their way to the warehouse, we don't know what happened. There's no word b-back from anyone."
"How much?" I asked crossing my arms, "What?"
"How much was lost? I asked for a report, not a damn synopsis."
"W-We don't know... Two trucks were delivering but they never arrived."

I massaged the temples of my head and closed my eyes, "Let me get this straight... You didn't go looking for it? How hard is it hmm? To find a damn truck?"
I looked around at all of them, "Have any of you got shit worth anything in those big heads of yours or is it just space up in there?" I looked back at him, "Well, do you?"
"I- sir... We will search for them." He said nodding.
"If Dino was still alive this wouldn't have happened." I looked in the direction of the voice and I frowned, "Excuse me?" I asked, walking up to him.
"If-" I cut him off, grabbing him by his shirt collar, "Dì di nuovo il suo nome e ti ucciderò." (Say his name again and I'll kill you.)
He looked at me with an arrogant look written all over his face and I let go of him. I nodded slowly, "I see, I see..." I pulled my gun back out and shot him straight in the head. Everyone froze as his body dropped to the floor and I sighed.
"Dino Russo is no longer the head of this family." I said, scanning the room. "Whoever disagrees can go join him in his grave. I'll happily give you a one-way ticket there." I waited for someone else to speak but no one did.
"Good. Someone come clean this shit up, as for the rest of you, get back to work."
I cursed under my breath as they all left the room. "Woah. Woah. Gio, loosen up a little." Sebastian said, walking up to me, "They're just a little on edge."
I sighed and ran my hands through my hair, "They don't take me seriously enough."
He pat my back and chuckled, "It's a given, you're younger and less experienced than him. Just relax, for now, Matteo and I will take care of things."
I held my hand up and shook my head, "No, no, I'll do it myself. They'll have no choice but to give me their loyalty when I've found it. Where is Matteo?"
"Probably lazing around Melanie. Says he like the smell of flowers but we both know that's a lie." Sebastian said chuckling.
Flowers, huh? That's where I saw her again.
"Hm."
He gripped my shoulder and shook me a little, "Lighten up, maybe you need to get laid, you're way too uptight."
"Shut up." I said, pushing his hand off me. "Call Matteo and tell him to get his ass over here, we have work to do."

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.
