I forgot it was Sunday today?????
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
HE HAD me wait in his office while he took care of some things and I sat behind his desk, swirling around in his office chair. His office looked as classy as the rest of his house— the lingering smell of smoke and the alcohol on top of his desk added to the aesthetic of the room.
I bounced my leg on the floor and traced my hand over his desk before stopping over the drawers. I paused and looked around the room before pulling one of them and to my surprise, it wasn't locked.
I slid it open slowly and my eyes widened when I saw a gun sitting in the drawer. I brushed my finger over the pistol in his desk and my hands itched to pick it up.
I remember the last time I held one— I killed someone. It was in self-defense but... I remember watching their body fall to the floor and the blood... Chills ran down my spine and I shuddered.
I wonder how many people he's killed with one.
It was heavier than I expected but I picked it up carefully. I don't know what I was looking for as I examined it but, it intrigued me. I held my finger over the trigger and pointed it toward the closed door in front of me.
I sighed and shook my head, "What am I doing?" I mumbled.
I scrambled as I heard the door opening and I shut the drawer closed before straightening myself up. I cursed under my breath when I realized I forgot to put the gun back but it wasn't Giovanni that walked in— it was Lucifer. He squinted his eyes at me as he came into the room and I held my breath as he eyed me,

"Where's Giovanni?" He asked, closing the door back behind him and I shrugged, "I don't know- he said he was going to take care of some things."
"A little nosy aren't we?" He asked, nodding toward the desk and I bit my lip, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You don't, hmm?" His lips curved up into a smile and he sat down in front of me. "You and I have never spoken alone with each other..."
"Uh- why would we?"
He chuckled. "Fair enough." He intertwined his hands and leaned in on the desk before tilting his head at me, "Are you in love with him- Giovanni?"
My face flushed and I looked away from him, "I don't-"
"Yet, " he added, "You will. Already, you seem to be infatuated with one another and soon enough it will be hard to go from that. The question is... Does he feel the same for you? The man was known to feel nothing- will he really crack for you?"
When I didn't say anything he continued on talking, "You will eventually become a target- even more so now since he chose to go to such lengths to 'protect' you... Things are quite peaceful now but the cogs have only just begun turning. When the clock finally strikes and the fighting begins... What role do you really play in it?"
"You've only seen him in your own eyes and a violence that doesn't compare to what he's truly capable of." His eyes drifted to the gun and he nodded to it, "If it had to be done, he wouldn't hesitate in putting a bullet through your head."
A feeling of uneasiness washed over me and I looked down. "Why are you telling me this?"

"Hmm... Why? Because I want to. "
"Don't you work for him...?"
He smiled and leaned back in his chair, "I made a deal with him... And I'm willing to make a deal with you."
"What kind of deal?" I asked, frowning.
"Well... You need to make him fall in love with you. As you are now, that won't happen despite how things seem, you'll just be a random fling for him. You need to immerse yourself into his world and get closer to him- closer than you are now."
"But you just said-"
"It's called a deal. You work with me and I will protect you."
"Why? Why do you want me to get close to him so badly?" He paused when I asked that and he studied my face for a while as if he were thinking about whether or not he should tell me. "So you can become his weakness. The heart will always be the weakest part of man."
He brushed his fingertips over the gun on the desk and he picked it up. "To answer your question, I work for no one but myself, Jeyri. In my eyes, this is nothing but a stepping stone to something greater. You understand that, right?"
"I don't-"
"How are your parents?" He asked, looking at me and my eyes widened. "Mr. And Ms. Rae... They're a very lovely couple I suppose. When is the last time you visited them? They miss you dearly... They're getting old, I wonder how much time they may have left..."
My heart stopped and I clenched my shirt up in my fists, "You..." Did he talk to my parents?? Is he threatening me?
"You shouldn't play with dangerous things. You'll wound up hurting yourself... Or someone else you care for." He pushed the gun back toward me and smiled, "I hope you keep our little chat in mind..."
He pressed his finger to his lips as the door to the room opened. Is he telling to me keep this a secret? Giovanni walked in and looked between Lucifer and I, "What were the two of you talking about?"
"I was asking her if she wanted to join my little gang but she's refused me sadly, "Lucifer said, standing up. "I came in place of Sebastian to report... He's with his father I believe. Things are looking normal for the most part."
"Ah... Good. Good. Thank you, Lucifer."
"Of course..."
Giovanni looked toward me and smiled softly, "Come on, I'll drive you back home."

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.
