《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Lower Level

The elevator doors opened onto a garage. But it looked to Sara like a full car dealership. While the garage was somewhat narrow, it stretched out far ahead of her.

True to his word, the garage was, indeed, cold. No doubt from the air conditioning. She was grateful, albeit slightly surprised, that Bentley held her arm, keeping her body pressed firmly against his side. They stepped out of the elevator, onto the hard ground.

"CHECK IT OUT!" he said. His voice sounded like a yell, echoing off the walls around them. "Welcome to my, uh, collection!" He guided her to the first car. "Now this one, this is a great car." He kept a firm grip on her as he used his other arm to pat the car's purple hood.

Sara just stared. The car, well, ALL the cars that she could see, looked almost fake. They were a mix of various odd shapes, sizes, and colors. And every one of them was exquisitely sleek, bright, and shiny. Several had large spoilers with nearly flat-looking metal bodies. They all sported dark, shaded windows, and had powerful black tires. One could surmise that to drive any of them under a hundred miles per hour would be a disgrace.

Bentley let his hand idly caress the car's surface. "Tell me you like cars," he said.

She saw his eyes had softened under the garage fluorescent lights. They were more of a delicious chocolate milk than the normally rich milk chocolate.

"Cars...well..." Sara began. She tried to pull her arm away -- only to be polite -- but Bentley held onto her. "I'm, um, I'm not a huge car person. My brother, Charles. He definitely is. I actually have his Jeep."

Bentley's mouth twitched. "So you have absolutely no idea what kind of car this is?" He jerked his thumb at the purple, shiny car. "It even glows in the dark!"

Sara giggled. "Seriously?"

He gave her chin a quick squeeze. The touch sent her eyes rolling around in her head. But Bentley didn't seem to notice.

"Yeah, it glows in the dark to help me find where I parked!" He tipped back his head to laugh again. The sound of his echoing laughter made it seem like all the cars laughed along with him.

When Sara's eyes and head stopped spinning from his touch, she managed to choke out, "So convenient."

He raised his eyebrows. "So...no? No idea what kind of car this is?"

Sara felt ashamed. She shook her head.

Bentley let out an exasperated sigh. "Lamborghini. But to me, this is LASER!" Bentley patted the car's side again. "He's a fine breed. Though, he does have a bit of a temper." Bentley leaned close to whisper into her ear. "He detests stoplights."

Sara curled her mouth into a smile. She tried to force herself to relax. But it was difficult with his arm now pressed so firmly, and so sensually around her waist.

"Are they all self-driving, too?" she asked.

He nodded, touching her under her chin again with his finger. "Fast learner. I like it," he said pleasantly. "Self-driving technology really comes in handy. But for the most part, these guys let me take the wheel. They're really just programmed to keep me from driving myself off a bridge or a cliff."

She giggled and swatted him in the stomach. "I'm sure you never speed."

He caught her hand in his and gripped it for a few seconds. He didn't seem to be paying attention to his actions.

But she was. Her breath hitched as she felt him run his fingers over hers, his touch electrifying.

His eyes snapped back into focus and he quickly released her hand. She heard him swallow loudly. He pointed a hand to another car. "You already know him. That's my Bad Boy, Bentley." He winked at her. "He is very bad sometimes. Especially on sharp turns." Bentley lifted his hand and, keeping his fingers flat like paper, angled his hand to mimic a car turning fast at a high speed. "Oh, and...Bad Boy has a weakness for the ladies." He leaned in and whispered into her ear again. "I'd keep far away from him if I were you."

Sara shivered inadvertently. Was that a double entendre?
