《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Date Night Part 4

Sara exhaled her breath. False alarm. It was just some huge man who looked similar to Bentley from the back. But only because the man had been sitting down and was at a corner table. Now that the man had stood up, Sara saw he was quite wide around the middle. That was definitely not the boy with the beautiful name.

She felt disappointed. But why should she? Bentley was selfish. He was probably out and partying it up with his two bratty models right at that very moment.

Sara pushed Bentley from her mind. She tried to focus on Kurt instead. He was in the midst of taking a drink from his mysterious 'blue glass.' By the gleam in his eye, she guessed it had to be some kind of wine.

The waiter reappeared. "Compliments of the chef." He set down an assortment of fancy hors d'oeuvres, and described each of them briefly in detail.

"Excellent!" Kurt exclaimed.

As they ate the appetizers, Kurt told her about the yacht his movie star cousin had bought. Apparently, he and his friends were going sailing in the Caribbean in the next few weeks.

"That sounds fun," Sara said, nibbling delicately on a fig.

As soon as they finished the hors d'oeuvres, the waiter brought their dinners.

Kurt immediately dove into his lobster with the tiny fork.

Sara really wasn't that hungry. She'd had her fill of the pizza with Erin, and the earlier appetizers. She picked daintily at the scallops and asparagus on her plate.

She and Kurt didn't talk that much during dinner. It seemed Kurt was accustomed to silence once the main course was served. At least at a fancy restaurant.

Sara took a sip of her mint tea. Again, her thoughts strayed to Bentley. She tried to imagine what kinds of scandalous acts he'd been up to with those models after she'd left. A part of her wondered, too, why he didn't desire her in the same way.

She glanced down at her dress. She'd bought it secretly awhile back after seeing it advertised in one of her mother's fashion magazines. But this was the first time she'd ever decided to actually wear it. This dress was fit for a runway show. The cost of it proved that. Not that she splurged that much on clothes. Most of her things were pretty sensible. Still, she decided she could possibly rival those models now in this dress. A combination of amazing stilettos, dark red lipstick, and a revealing dress, that's about all it took for most women to turn guys' heads.

When Kurt finished his lobster, the waiter brought them dessert. It was delicious creme brulee.

While Sara tried to enjoy herself, she remained slightly annoyed. She needed more conversation during a date. And she needed to feel the same excited butterflies she'd felt spending time with Bentley. Without the happy butterflies in her stomach, it just felt like something was missing.

Kurt paid the bill and downed his glass of water.

Sara made sure he finished the 'blue glass' earlier, before they left the restaurant.

Just as they were about to head out the front doors, Pam came running up to them.

"SARA!" Pam yelled, screaming slightly. Her eyes were huge. And her grin was even wider.

Kurt turned, curiously. When he saw Pam, he nodded at Sara. "I'll get the car from the valet. Meet me outside when you're done with...with that." He indicated his head towards Pam who was almost sprinting now towards them.

Sara giggled and spun around to meet her friend. She'd actually forgotten about saying 'goodbye' to her friend. Her head was so clouded with new, emotional thoughts. But when she saw Pam, relief flooded through her.

Pam dove into Sara's arms, laughing hysterically. After they'd hugged, Pam stepped back to admire Sara's dress. "Good gracious, Sara. You look radiant. Though, this dress gives me goosebumps. It looks like it's about to fall off of you at any second."

Sara grinned. "Yep, that's the point. I wanted to look 'to die for.'"

Pam smiled. "I wish I had the guts to wear such things. But I'm sure Patrick would literally hit the floor if I ever wore a dress like this." Her eyes brightened. "Say, what did you think of him?"

Sara wrapped her arms around Pam's neck and squeezed her friend tightly. "Oh, Pam. He's absolutely wonderful. And soooo precious! I mean, THOSE EYES are so GREEN! And his cute little crooked tooth!"

Both girls burst out laughing.

"He's a keeper in my book," Sara said.

Pam dropped her eyes, her cheeks flaming red. "I hope so. He's so perfect for me."

Sara was about to reply when a loud horn honked from outside.
