《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Drive

Sara saw there was a tissue -- who knew HOW long it had been there -- resting on the floor near her foot.

Bentley's hand clawed blindly across the leather backseat before he dropped his hand onto the ground. Luckily, his fingers found the tissue and not Sara's foot, which had been barely an inch away from his hand.

Bentley dabbed his nose with the tissue. "Gross. What a mess. Blast, it hurts like a mother," he groaned.

To her disbelief, he threw the bloody tissue over his shoulder. It smacked her in the face and rolled somewhere under her.

Sara fought every impulse she had to not toss his unbelievably disgusting, bloody tissue back into the front seat.

Boy, would he be surprised if the tissue suddenly appeared again, right next to him. She almost did it too, just to see his reaction. But then she decided his wrath at discovering her inside his car, stowed away like an escaped convict, would be so much worse.

Bentley's phone rang. It must have been connected to the speakers inside his car.

"What's up, dude?" Bentley said happily.

It sounded like Dan, one of the seniors on his soccer team.

"Coach wants us running sprints this weekend. Said Halloween will make us all fat," Dan said.

Bentley hit the wheel of his car. "But I want to get fat," he joked. "If Coach is so worried, he shouldn't have cancelled practice tonight."

Dan spit something absolutely revolting out of his mouth. He didn't even bother to mute himself first.

Bentley didn't seem to care. Apparently boys were THAT weird.

"Nah, Coach knows we need a break. Think all the teams got off tonight, too," Dan said. "Anyway, our trip to Miami is gonna be awesome. You meeting up with Carmen and Alicia again while you're down there?" Dan asked.

Sara felt herself bristle.

"Maybe...we all kinda got our hands full this weekend. Trevor's uncle's gig is Saturday night. With everything going on that day, may not be able to get away," Bentley said.

Sara was almost positive her face was purple with raging jealousy. Carmen and Alicia, huh? Maybe they only wanted to discuss the elements of the periodic table with him? Well, if they liked Oxygen so much, she certainly knew how to strangle it right out of them.

She paused, thinking.

Wow. That was kind of a violent idea, she thought worriedly. Would she feel this stressed out if Kurt was saying he'd be meeting up with other ladies? She honestly wasn't sure. Okay, maybe she would care. Maybe she was selfish and wanted two cute boys to be madly in love with her. And ONLY her. What girl wouldn't?

She realized Dan had hung up.

Soon, Bentley's phone rang again.

This time, the caller was Ella.

"Bentley Pie!" she cooed.

Sara wanted to throw up.

"Hey, you weren't in school. How are you feeling?" he asked.

Ella coughed. "Not good. I have the flu."

Sara's eyes bulged.

Ella was sick? That could only mean--

"I can't go to Miami," Ella said bitterly.

"Aww, bust," he said.

Ella scoffed. It sounded like she'd thrown something across the room. "You're making fun of me!" she said.

Bentley laughed. "You sound like you have a tissue stuck up your nose. But otherwise, your voice is sexy as heck."

Ella giggled. "I wuv you, Bwentley Pwie," she said.

Sara's insides went cold. Would he say it back?
