《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Venting

"Get some rest. I'll see you after the trip," Bentley replied.

Relief exploded throughout every limb of Sara's body. If he had said those three little words back to Ella, well, she wouldn't think about that.

When she heard Ella again, the girl's disappointment was painfully obvious in her tone.

"Oh-kay. Call me when you get there," Ella said sweetly. As she hung up, it almost sounded like Ella had slammed the phone off with her fist.

Bentley, being a boy and all, didn't seem to notice the slam of the phone. He started to sing to the rock music that had started up again after Ella's call ended.

His words caressed all of Sara's soft places, causing her body to begin to relax.

"My heart is torn to shreds. My soul has all but bled. I'm dripping in your grace. Oh, your lovely, lovely face."

Sara squeezed her eyes shut, curling up into a ball. His words literally had her floating now. She was sure she'd rise up right out of the backseat and drift straight out of his car.

"Baby open up to me. I've got everything you need," Bentley sang. "Come a little closer, girl, I'll show you what I mean. Oh, SARA!"

Sara felt herself choke. Wait, did that just happen?

She strained her ears, listening for the chorus to play again. When the rock star sang the phrase again, and this time, without Bentley interfering, the singer said, "...I'll show you what I mean. Oh, Lara!"

Darn. The name was too close to hers. If it had been Franny-Bo-Banny she'd have her answer. But she could have easily misunderstood him.

Outside the window, she could see streetlights zip by the car at an extremely fast velocity.

And then the car was rolling past the gate and winding down his long driveway.

He parked in front of the water fountain. He did his slow, sensual stretch, groaning in the process.

"Man, what a day," he breathed. It sounded like he was about to open his car door, but then he stopped.

Sara waited impatiently for Bentley to leave. While the walk was even farther now to her house, she figured she could get Pam or Erin to come pick her up. But then she remembered her phone was in her bag, locked in the trunk. Guess she'd be walking again. Unless his car would consider popping the trunk open for her? Or even driving her home?

To her annoyance, Bentley remained in his chair. He sat unmoving, as if lost in thought. Several minutes went by. But to Sara, still crouched uncomfortably on the floor of the backseat, those minutes felt like hours.

She heard Bentley sigh.

"You can come out now, Sara."

"Oh my gawd!" she mouthed wordlessly.

Her body was too frozen to move, even if she'd wanted to. Shame and utter humiliation glued her to the soft floor.

She heard him twist around. He let out an angry growl. Leaning low across the chair, he dug his fingers under her body.

She tried to crawl away from him, but there was nowhere to go.

She whimpered as he lifted her smoothly and easily out of the backseat.

At first, she thought he'd put her in the passenger chair beside him. Instead, he dropped her right onto his lap!
