When they reached their destination, the group scrambled out of the Jeep as quickly as possible.

"Later, Rex!" Sara whispered as she moved to hop out of the amazing six-door vehicle.

Before she could touch the handle to slide open the safety bar, the Jeep opened the door automatically for her.

"Sexy Saraaaa," the Jeep's low robotic voice rumbled.

Sara tossed back her head and started to laugh. She was relieved none of the others had heard the Jeep talk. The group was already waiting for her out on the grass.

Bentley, his medical coat hanging loose about his shoulders, watched her curiously as she climbed out of the Jeep.

The full moon was high overhead as the group approached an enormous building that would lead to the concert. Hundreds upon hundreds of people were still waiting in line to get inside.

"Allow me," Trevor said through the snout of his wolf costume. He guided the group towards an empty line where the ticket window read, WILL CALL, VIP.

"Hi, I'm Trevor Martin. These are my friends. We're here to pick up passes." Trevor handed the woman behind the window his license.

"K, I see you, Trevor. But I need all them friends of yours licenses, too." The woman had very long, bright red fingernails. She clicked her nails impatiently, chewing a thick wad of gum.

Sara dug out her license and passed it forward to Dan who handed the other licenses to Trevor.

Trevor pushed the licenses under the window towards the woman.

She reviewed each license carefully, squinting her eyes in her tiny spectacles. "I have a list here for around eleven or twelve people. You only brought six today?"

Trevor shrugged. "That's right. The best of the best," he laughed.

"Wait a minute," the woman grumbled. "There's no Sara Smith on my list."

Sara felt her insides freeze.

"Ella must have forgotten to send your info to the concert reservations," Trevor said.

Just like she forgot to send my itinerary, Sara thought.

Trevor cleared his throat. "Never fear, Sara Sweet," he said. He turned back to the woman. "I didn't bring everyone in my group. Since we have extra passes, give Sara one of those." He crossed his arms, waiting.

"I can't do that," the woman snapped. "It's almost show time. If the girl's name isn't on my sheet, she don't get in. Sorry."

Erin put a hand on Sara's shoulder. Sara could feel her shaking.

Bentley stepped forward. "I'll buy Sara's new pass," he said.

The woman nearly fell out of her chair when she saw Bentley's face. She blushed severely and began to stutter all over the place.

"Oh, no no no no. I wish I could do that. These aren't typical backstage passes. The passes here aren't for sale to the general public. It's a security thing. You got me?" She gave him the sweetest smile she could muster. "Plus, the show's already sold out."

Bentley spun back to Trevor. "Get your uncle on the phone, NOW." He looked mad.

"Right. Of course." Trevor pulled out his cell phone and punched in a number. "Uncle Jack! Hey, it's your favorite nephew!" A pause. "Yeah, man. I'm here with my pals." Another pause. "Hey, can you do us a sweet flave? One of my girls, Sara, her name fell off the list. Yeah, yeah I know it's such a crap sitch. Yeah, yeah, cool. Yeah, all right. Awesome. You rock, Uncle Jack! I'll see you soon!"

Immediately, the phone behind the ticket counter began to ring.

The woman answered it in a flourish of importance. "Oh, oh, oh, oh, Jack Lake!" Her face paled dramatically. "Sure thing. Right away."

The woman hung up the phone and hastily scrambled to collect several lanyards together. She shoved them hurriedly back under the window. "Enjoy the show," she murmured.

"Thanks," Sara told Trevor as he gave her the lanyard. She'd never been so relieved.

"No sweat, Sara Sweet," he said. He looped his own lanyard over his neck.

She wanted to thank Bentley for coming to her rescue, too. But he marched away through the doors that led into the concert.

"Come on!" Trevor called. He all but ran down the darkened hallway that led away from the main concert hall.

"Where are we going? Everyone else is going that way," Erin said. She pointed behind her at the crowds of people filing into the next room where the seats were.

"We have a couple stops first!" Trevor called. He seemed to have a mind of his own now.

As the group hastened down the hall, an open room on the left had several fierce looking guards in front of it.

Trevor confidently approached one of the three security guards. "I'm Trevor Martin. Jack is my uncle." Trevor held out his VIP badge for the security team to inspect.

The largest security guard nodded. "Need to see all of your friends' badges," he said gruffly.

Sara had never been so happy to wave her badge at him.

"They're All Access," the guard told his team. "You going backstage before the show?" he asked Trevor.

Trevor grinned. "Yeah, man. Do we have time?"

The guard nodded. "It's not yet lockdown. You should be fine."

"Awesome," Trevor said.

The group headed into the VIP lounge. There were couches and television screens along the back wall where a long table of catered food was set up.

The band's soundtrack was playing in the background.

Snobby looking people who were overly dressed in suits and dresses stood in groups near the bar.

"Jenson! Clydester!" Trevor yelled. He waved his arms.

"Hey, Trevor! Nice of you to finally show up," one of the men in a suit called back.

"I wouldn't miss this show for the world," Trevor laughed. He turned back to his friends. "Grab some food. Then we can go meet the guys."

There was an assortment of different hot and cold foods strewn out on several tables.

Sara settled for a turkey sandwich. It seemed safe enough since she was already so jittery with excitement.

She'd just swallowed the sandwich when Erin grabbed her arm. "Move it, girly. We're on the go again."
