"So, you stay here?" I asked Arabella as she took a seat next to me. Antonio and Blake also sat with the kids on their laps.
She smiled, "Sometimes but now since you're staying here... I might stay here more often. Let's be honest, I've known you for like thirty minutes and I already like you."
"So, what's for dinner Esme?" Antonio asked the old woman who approached them with a smile "Lasagna."
"My favourite!!" Blake shouted excitedly making Izzy giggle. Just then Enzo entered the room. He sat at the head of the table which just happened to be...across me.
They were all talking and laughing amongst themselves while eating their food at the same time. They looked like a family. The only persons who wasn't talking or laughing was Enzo and I. I was eating my food quietly and so was he.
There was a man who was sitting across Enzo, facing me. My guess was that he was the underboss then beside the underboss there was a woman. They were sitting pretty close so I guessed that they were together.
My eyes then fell on the ring on her finger. Married. She was his wife.
"Uncle!" Izzy shouted making Enzo snap his head towards the voice. He smiled lightly at the little girl before resuming his food.
He smiled...?
"Where's uncle essio?" Freddy asked, tilting his head a bit to the side. He had brown hairs and blue eyes, similiar to Izzy. Arabella had blue eyes but her hair was black. That made me wonder...Who was Freddy and Izzy's father?
Enzo has black hairs and green eyes and now that I notice, he had a lot of piercings too. It made him look like the 'Bad Boy' type. He had a lot of tattoos; on his arms, neck and maybe other places too.

I had tattoos too but not much- I had an 'A' on my neck and my very own initial as the 'Deadly' on my wrist which I concealed. The 'A' stood for my brother's name.
My tattoo to show that I was the 'Deadly' consisted of a sword and snake around it. I also had a black rose tattoo on my waist sides while some other parts of my body were tattooed with scars.
"He should be here anytime now." Enzo replied. Izzy smiled as Arabella fed her.
After a while, I was done eating. I stood up and walked towards the sink before washing my plate. I then placed it in the plate holder before pouring myself a glass of water. After washing the glass, I went back to the dining room to take my phone which I left on the table.
I was about to walk towards them when My eyes fell on someone else sitting where I was previously sitting. I studied the man who was speaking with Enzo, he didn't care about his surroundings. His whole attention was on Enzo as he was speaking.
I stood in a corner, nobody noticed that I was there. I was admiring him. His green-coloured eyes, his black hairs...he looked almost like him. Alessio and I didn't have the same features even though he was my brother. While my hair was brown, his was black.
Sighing, I was about to walk away when my eyes fell on his right arm. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing several tattoos but one tattoo caught my eyes making them widened. The tattoo was small yet very noticeable. It was the letter 'A' written boldly and beautifully.
"Alessio..." I intended to whisper but my voice came out a bit louder than It should have, making everyone who were sitting at the table snap their heads in my direction.

Alessio stared at me in confusion. He didn't remember me? I wouldn't blame him though. I've changed a lot.
"That's the assassin I was talking to you about." Enzo said to Alessio who was staring intently at me.
However, what Alessio did next seemed to shock everyone in the room. He stood up and rushed towards me before engulfing me into a bone crushing hug.
I instantly hugged him back which made him only tightened his grip around me. We stayed like that, ignoring everyone who were watching us. After all, we were two siblings who just reunited after four years...

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
