The car horns blared through the busy city night as she made her way to her destination. Melyssas heels graced the ground as she walked through the nice hotel. She took her time as she caught the eyes of the desk workers as well as the people sitting inside of the lobby. Finally getting to the elevator she bites her cheek as she presses the button. She looks down to her nails as she waited for the elevator door to open itself before walking in.

"what floor maam?" the nice man asked her.

"um the 25th please" she stammers as the man nods his head before pressing the floor button sending them farther up the building. Melissa began to shift her feet in anticipation of getting to her destination. "you have a nice day ma'am" the man said as the doors to the elevator opened. Sending a small smile she exited the elevator. She began the journey down the quiet long hall, readjusting her purse onto her shoulder. She raises her hand up to knock but she hesitates. Melissa begins to contemplate her whole reason for being here. For some reason she didn't take the time to think and just went with it. She hadn't even responded to the message sent to her so she didn't even know if they were in there. After taking a deep breath she decides to just knock. After a few moments unanswered she accepts her loss and proceeds to turn around. As she starts to walk away the door is swung open revealing the face she fell in love with so many years ago. The face of the person who gave her her daughter; her pride and her joy. The person who hurt her. Who lied to her. And who abandoned her like her father once did.

"I didn't think you were coming" Timothy gave a shy smile as he moved the door open farther for her to enter the room. It was a king sized room with a large window wall that overlooked the city.

"well im here" Melyssa said walking into the room as Timothy took in her appearance. She sported her hair in some long senegalese twists with a light amount of makeup on just to highlight her natural beauty. She was dressed in a simple pair of light washed jeans with a top that showed just the right amount of cleavage, and a pair of stiletto heels all with a cardigan to keep her warm from the Georgia autumn.

"she looks even better with age" Timothy thought to hisself as he tried to figure out how to place his words together. Melyssa took this time to take a seat in the chair that dressed the corner of the room.

"are you going to speak or just stare at me this entire time" Melyssa says putting her guard up lifting an eyebrow to the nervous man.

"oh.. uh sorry" Timothy says wiping his clammy hands onto his pants before taking a seat onto the bed. "thank you for coming" he says as Melyssa looks down to her hands. Even him, one of the best lawyers and convincers in the state cannot even get his words together.

"Im sorry Melyssa" he says as she rolls her eyes at him idiotic statement

"yes you are" she mumbles before taking a deep breath.

"for what Tim?" She starts "are you sorry just because your daughter found you and you feel bad or are you genuinely sorry?" she asks him looking him directly in his eyes as he tries terribly but cannot hold the intense eye contact

"im genuinely sorry... you dont know how many times i wanted to pick up the phone and apologize to you but.." she cuts him off in the middle of his sentence.

"but you didn't... instead you made it to where it was if i was never apart of your life" she states.

"could i explain" he asks her but she was letting out the 20+ years of pain bottled up.

"explain what Tim? how you lied to me until you found out your wife was pregnant and left your mistress who was also pregnant with your child" she states.

"She didn't get pregnant until 3 months after i left"he gets out. This whole time she thought his wife was pregnant and that was the reason. Hell that was what he told Ashley, so what really happened.

"i was going to leave her Melyssa... i had papers drawn up already i was just waiting for the right time." he states "i know i shouldn't have lied to you but i didn't know what to do and that was foolish of me."

"so what happened? If she wasnt pregnant and you had papers drawn up...." she asks wanting to know the truth behind the matter.

"the day i was going to go home and give her the papers she told me that she knew about you. I dont know how she knew who you were but something about she saw you at the pharmacy." he states as she remembers the days she found out.

"Do you know how to take these ma'am" the pharmacist refers to the prenatal vitamins.

"yes ma'am i do. My doctor reviewed them" Melyssa says cheerfully. She had just received the news of being pregnant after feeling sick and going to the doctor.

"how far along are you" the pharmacist asks

"only 16 weeks as of now" she states

"well congratulations mommy to be"

"thank you i can't wait to tell my boyfriend" Melyssa says before turning around to see a woman behind her with a fake smile.

"i remember my first one, gave me so much trouble... my little tj" she looks over to the young boy who cant be more than 5 or 6 years old.

"awe i cant wait im so excited" Melyssa exclaims "well you have a wonderful day" she says before walking off and the womans smile drops.

Melyssa mind turns as she remembers that the woman who she spoke to is his wife and she didn't even know it at the time.

"i told her that i was done and how i loved you but... she brung up the things we had to do to start my firm" he states referring to him and Melyssa. "she didn't know that you had anything to do with it but i didn't want anything to happen to you so i stayed and complied to her terms"

When they began dating, Tim was a partner at another firm but had big dreams of owning his own. Thats where Melyssa came in. She had been taken care of her whole life by mobs and assassins and she knew ways to make money that Tim did not and ten times as faster. Being that she loved him with her all she allowed her family to launder money through the firm making it seem successful which brought more clients and much more money. At the time she controlled the financial books of her family so she did not have it written as Tims business so that her family wouldn't have a problem. He finally saw his dreams come true with her help.

"why are you telling me this now Tim?" she asks him knowing that she stopped all the money that was flowing into the firm the day he cut her off. There was no paper trail because by the time she stopped he was making enough money to match what they were putting in. So it didn't matter now if his wife told. The only people who would go down was him and her for being an accomplice.

"i thought about you every single day Melyssa, not a day went by that i didn't. And when i saw you that night i couldn't believe my eyes. For once i felt again, i felt alive again. I still love you Melyssa" he says as she stands up shaking her head.

"no, no, no" she mumbles before attempting to grab her things and make her exit.

"yes melyssa i do..." he looks into her eyes as he grabs her wrists causing her to halt in her movements. "tell me you dont love me anymore and ill let it go" he says as her mouth goes dry. "tell me Melyssa" he states again before he slowly moves down before placing his lips of hers.

They are broken out of it as Melyssa smacked his cheeks causing him to step back with a sting.

"i hate you" she says hurting him. He couldnt even say anything as he felt as if he deserved it. She stood their as tears continued to escape her eyes and tim ran his hand down his face.

But before he could process she wrapped her hands around his neck and began to kiss his lips passionately once again.

"how is he?" Israel asks Ashley as she tries to get him to eat.

"Better but still fussy" she states yawning. Ashley barely got any sleep last night she was so worried about Aiden.

"No mama" Aiden says turning his head

"Yes Aiden" Ashley says back to their moody toddler as she forces the food into his mouth.

"Go get some sleep ash I got him" Izzy says helping her up. Truth is, he barely got any sleep either but he figured he can lose a few hours and be fine. But Ashley was carrying their child and was already at heightened risk. That was another reason he wanted them to go with him to Mexico so that she could relax a bit more than she was at home. If he was by himself he could make the trip in a day or less but he wanted to be able to spend time with them while they were out there.

After finally getting Aiden to eat, Izzy noticed that Ashley hasn't eaten.

"Ma" he repeatedly knocked on his mother's room door before she swung it open.

"What boy." She says tying up her robe.

"Could you cook real quick Ash ain't ate" he states as she takes a deep breath.

"Only because Ashley needs to eat" she says before closing the door back. Izzy then goes back into the kitchen and waits on her. As she walks out she noticed her son looks disconnected from the world.

"Israel" she says for the third time snapping him out of his daze.

"Huh" he says coming back into the world.

"What's going on baby. Y'all never told me what happened at the hospital" she says as she watches his face turn cold once again. Sharon begins to feel a feeling of worry and sorry. Without even knowing the outcome of the visit she knew something just was wrong.

"He can't hear from his left ear ma" Izzy tells her

"What you mean 'he can't hear'" she repeats

"He is partially deaf ma" Izzy gets out as Sharon goes around the island to embrace her son. She couldn't imagine what they are feeling at the moment but all she could do was pray and be there for the two.

"It's gone be alright baby. Aiden is strong and so are you and Ashley. Y'all just gone have to make some adjustments for him but that's not gone stop nothing baby. God tests us everyday and this is one of them. He only gives you what he knows you can handle and I know it seem like you can't right now but I promise you that y'all can." She stars and she hugs her tightly.

"Alright boy let me cook for my daughter in law and my grand baby" she states exiting the hug and starting up some food.

Upstairs Ashley had just gotten out of the shower and decided to lay down. She didn't want to do anything at the moment. She didn't straighten up the room like she would usually or try and put on some better clothes.

She is awaken by the door opening and Israel coming in and opening the blinds. She sits up as he brings a plate of food beside her

"I'm not hungry" she states trying to hand it back

"Eat one spoonful" Izzy says crossing his arms as she takes a bite before beginning to dig in. And not long after she ate the entire plate.

"Not hungry my ass" he states sitting the plate down. "Come one get up we gotta pack and we not gone sleep all day" he states helping her out of bed. As much as he wanted to do the same thing she was doing he knew it wasn't healthy and had to do something to take her mind off of it. On top of that he believed that a vacation is just what they needed at the moment.

"Where's Aiden" Ashley states as she stretches her arms

"He with my mom right now" Izzy says before he goes off into the closets to pull out the bags. They were only staying for a few days so they didn't need so much stuff but he know how Ashley likes to pack.

After the two finished packing and things it was already the afternoon.

"Ma why are you sleep its 2:30" Ashley says to her mother on the phone. She knows her mother is the type of person who wakes up early and rarely takes naps so that was odd to her.

"Girl I'm old I need naps" she states yawning "but I was calling to talk to you about two things"

"Okay go ahead I'm about to go cook" Melyssa states

"Last night we took Aiden to the hospital because he was having a bit of a bad night and we found out he is partially deaf in his left ear" Ashley says feeling sad all over again

"I'm so sorry baby" Melyssa says

"He has another ear doesn't he" Aleks voice bares through the background.

"Shut up Alek." Melyssa says hitting him

"Oww I came here to be loved and eat a nice home cooked meal and this is what I get." he says storming off back into the living room.

"I'm sorry about your selfish cousin baby don't mind him" she states but Ashley didn't even care about the joke he made because she knew that that was just how her cousin was and that he meant well. Alek cared about his god son more than people knew of course he was sad after recieving the news but with his asshole attitude he just could barely control himself sometimes.

"I'm just scared ma like I don't know what to do I don't know how this will change our lives" Ashley stated to her mother

"Well baby the only thing you can do is trust god and be the best parent you can be. Cause I damn well I don't know what to do in this situation but we can look into it and find some good doctors for him. Maybe you should learn Sign?" Melyssa says thinking she sounds in helpful "I'm sorry baby I know I'm not helping but Aiden comes from two strong parents and I know that he is as strong as you are so don't let this get you down baby. I know it's hard but it's going to be apart of all of our lives and we will just have to adjust to his needs accordingly."

"Thank you ma. I love you" Ashley says

"Okay now what was the second thing please tell me my other baby okay" she says in worry

"Yes this baby is okay but we are leaving out tonight" Ashley says

"Leaving out to where"

"Mexico... Izzy has something to handle and though it would be a good idea for us to get away for a bit" she says

"Do y'all think that's best considering Aidens condition? I mean what if his ears begin to pop on the plane?" Ashley goes into a deep thought because she had been so focused on the results of the hospital visit she wasn't thinking about that.

"That may not be the best." She mumbles to herself

"But if that's what y'all want to do okay. I understand y'all need to get away but if you need to leave Aiden here me and Sharon is here so he will be fine baby" Melyssa says before the two day their goodbyes and hang up.

Ashley gets up from her spot slowly feeling even more tired than she was lying down. She looks down to her swollen feet and sighs. She was finished packing so their was nothing left to do. Chris had texted her for the hundredth time asking was she still coming and of course she was going to. They decided to leave Aiden home with Sharon while they go just because of all the noise. Ashley gets into the jeans she had laid out with a blue tee and pulled her coat down since it was supposed to be cold tonight. She sat down on the bed and attempted to put on her vapor Max's but just didn't have the energy.

Izzy walked back into the room dressed and noticed the expression on her face. He walked over before grabbing the shoes and placing them on her feet.

"We don't have to go ash you look tired" Izzy speaks out as he helps her up from the bed.

"I'm fine could you grab my purse from the chair?" Ashley says to him. She was really tired and wanted to lay back down but she knew she wasn't going to miss Chris' game.

The couple make their way out to the car before they begin their journey to the school.

"What do you think about leaving Aiden here with our parents?" Ashley says breaking the silence.

"Ion know about that why?" Izzy says turning out of the neighborhood. He wasn't comfortable being away from either one of them. Hell he wanted to bring Aiden with them to the game but knew it wasn't best.

"Well I was just thinking because of the plane and I don't want him to be uncomfortable with the air pressure on his ears" Ashley says as Izzy stays quiet for a minute.

"I mean it probably would be smart for him to stay here"he says

"I just don't want to leave him after just finding out his condition" Ashley says as Izzy agrees.

"You right. Hold on ma" he says as his phone rings over the car speakers.

"wussap moms" he says

"boy i thought i raised you better who the hell you think you talking to" Sharon says correcting him

"im sorry ma" he states as Ashley chuckles to herself.

"Yall still taking this baby with yall?" Sharon asks as they head Aiden in the background playing.

"that what we was just talking about"

"Well i dont think yall should right now. Yall two go and have some alone time. Yall about to have another baby and lord knows yall won't be having any more time alone" She says to the two

"You sure ma, I can just let Israel go handle his business and ill stay with Aiden" Ashley says not wanting to be putting off her child on anyone else.

"baby yall are good. I love watching my grand baby. He will be fine" She says

"Well alright ma we at the school now. We gone stop by to see him before we leave out." Israel say before they all say their goodbyes and hang up

Pulling up the parking lot was full of tailgaters and fans. Ashley hadn't been to a football game since her college days and was ready to see her little brother play. After searching for something that wasnt too far, they finally found a spot.

"you sure this not too far?" Izzy says as he grabs her bleacher seat out of the trunk. Ashley had found the cushion at walmart the other day and thought it would be smart to get so that her butt wouldn't hurt while they are out there.

"Yes its fine baby now lets go" Ashley says. She had gotten some of her energy back and was feeling a bit good. The two walked in of course catching stares from the students and families as they made their way through the large group of people.

"Ashley!!! Over here" Justice calls from the middle of the stands. Ashley lets out a deep breath as she sees that she is sitting with Tj and his mother.

"We aint gotta sit up there" Izzy says as she walks up the bleachers.

"they done seen us now" Ashley says to him as they make their way to the family.

"Oh my goodness Ashley you are glowing" Justice says as she embraces her in a hug.

"duh bitch im pregnant" Ashley mumbles to herself in response to the cheerful girl. Truth is, Justice just wanted to have a relationship with someone on Tj's side. His mother believed that she should be the only woman in his life so when he introduced Justice to them she hated her and never wanted a relationship. His father kept it simple, while Maya was always on the go. And as for Chris, he was still a kid and too busy worried about his life. Justice could tell that Ashley was uncomfortable with their family as well and felt she could relate and that is what they shared in common.
