I gripped his bare shoulders and bit my lip harshly as Ian thrust into me against the wall of our bedroom. My legs wrapped around his waist and his arms holding me up as he pounded into me faster and harder. "Ian" I moaned, my back arching.

He lowered his head and gently bit my nipple over the silk of my nightgown and I gasped, my fingers digging into his back. He continued flicking his tongue over the tender bud, sucking it while thrusting into me and in one mighty stroke he plunged deeper inside me and I moaned loudly as pleasure rolled through me. Ian groaned as he found his own pleasure and gently set me down, pulling up his pants.

He leaned his forehead against mine as we both panted heavily for air.

I slowly glanced up at him. "Is this the first thing you remember to do in the morning?"

His lips tugged up. "Mmm"

"Don't you remember what day is today?"

Ian raised a brow. "There's something special today?"

I gasped and pushed him back. "How can you forget your own birthday?"

"Ah that" He ran a hand through his hair. "I remember it but it's insignificant"

I gaped. "Insignificant? How can you say that to your own birthday? Unbelievable!"

He shrugged. "It's not that special"

"It is special. I even bought you a gift" I moved to take it but Ian grabbed my hand.

"You don't need to give me a gift Hailey" His eyes softened. "Having you is enough"

I smiled and gently squeezed his hand. "But I bought you one Ian. So sit down while I go and take it"

Ian sat down on the bed and I retrieved a box from the closet and gave it to Ian.

"Here" I smiled. "Happy Birthday"

Ian unwrapped the box and his eyes widened. Inside was a snow globe with the town we visited in Switzerland in it and a little 'happy birthday' engraved at the bottom.

"I didn't know what else to buy since you seemed to have everything" I fidgeted with my fingers. "Hope you like it"

"When did you buy it?"

"When you weren't looking"

Ian observed it, slightly shaking it and I glimpsed sadness clouding his face as his eyes fell on the engraving.

"Umm...you don't like it?" I asked nervously.

"No no I love it. It's just-" He swallowed and glanced up at me, his eyes softening. "I had planned on letting you go today Hailey"

Panic rose inside me, my heart hammering in my chest. "W-what does that mean Ian? A-re you- breaking up-"

"No no no" He quickly pulled me to his lap and cupped my face in his hands. "No such thing"

"Then?"

He heaved a sigh and took my hand in his, gently stroking the ring in my finger. "This ring Hailey, I had forced it upon you. To get out of my mother's trap I announced you as my fiancé without even asking you. And it's-" He shook his head. "It's not right"

He swallowed. "At first, after you little trick I chose you as my fiancé because you're dedicated to your job just like me. So I thought it would be good to spend the rest of my life with you. But after getting to know you, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you Hailey. But-" He smiled sadly and looked up at me. "You didn't"

My heart sank. "So I promised myself that by the time it's my birthday if you still want to leave me, I would let you go" He gently squeezed my hand. "Even if it kills me Hailey, I would let you go because it wasn't my choice to make. I wish we had met under different circumstances. I wish I had approached you better. What I did was wrong. So if you had asked to leave again even after getting to know the real me-" His throat bobbed and he said softly. "I would've let you go"

My eyes burned and I smiled slowly. "Then it's good that I fell in love"

Ian's lips tugged up. "Mmm so good because I don't want to live without you" He swallowed. "I can't"

I pulled him into a hug and buried my face in his neck. "How are you so perfect Ian?"

Ian chuckled and patted my back. "I know right. I'm even surprised"

I let out a soft laugh and leaned back, cupping his face in my hands. "I love you Ian"

His lips tugged up. "I love you too Hailey"

Then I closed the distance by covering his mouth with mine, capturing his lips in a passionate kiss. He kissed me back, gentle and tender. I melted into his arms, melted into his warmth. And I've never felt more safe and protected. Never felt more happier than I do now. To be with him, with the the man I love. That's all I could ever ask for.

Ian slowly pulled back. "Let's not go to work today"

All thoughts of daisy love left me and I rolled my eyes. "Not this again"

He frowned. "What? Grant the birthday boy his wish"

"Please. Not today"

"Today is the perfect day"

"No"

"Why?"

"Because today everyone in the office will give you gifts"

"So?"

"I have always been curious about what others give you. Now it's finally my chance to see it for myself"

Ian rolled his eyes and leaned his head back on the headboard. "I don't even check them" He muttered.

I snapped at him. "Excuse me? Did you just say you don't even check them?"

Ian shrugged. "Mmm. Why would I check them?"

I gasped. "So you're telling me that I bought you teddy bears for the past four years for no reason?"

He quirked a brow. "You gave me teddy bears?"

"Of course I did. It's like a tradition in the company to give you presents for your birthday. So Lexi, Brian and I, all three of us gave you teddy bears. Last year was the best one. It was a white teddy bear with a pink bow. I almost cried when our VP took it away"

Ian rolled his eyes and muttered something inaudible under his breath.

I leveled him with a glare. "What do you do with them if you don't even check them?"

"I don't know. Daniel takes care of them"

"Damn that Daniel. I bet he takes them all home" I pushed myself to my feet. "Get up. We're leaving now"

...

"Oh my God! This is amazing" I clapped in excitement as trolley after trolley of gifts were brought in to Ian's office room.

Ian leaned his head back on his chair and sighed. "If you wanted presents so much I would have bought you, you know"

I clicked my tongue. "There's no fun in it. And I don't want these presents. I just want to check what's inside"

I moved to one of the trolleys and pulled out a gift. "Nice wrapper. Which department is this from?" I asked Daniel who was brooding in the corner.

"Legal"

"Yuck" I dropped the gift and moved to another trolley.

"Ooh this is from the finance" I ripped open the gifts and found many nerdy stuff like business books etc but there were also cupcakes, chocolates and stuff.

"What do you do with these Daniel? You take them home?"

He scoffed. "Why would I take them home? I donate them"

My eyes widened. "Really? My god, what a good boy you are"

Daniel frowned at that.

I ripped open the presents from more trolleys and found letters in many of them. "What are these?" I flipped a hot pink card.

"Love letters" Daniel answered.

"WHAT? I asked incredulously. "Ian receives love letters?"

"Yes of course. There might be less this year due to the fact that he's engaged but every year he receives a lot" Seeing my shocked face Daniel raised a brow. "Is that something so...shocking?"

"Yes! I thought no one in our company likes him"

Ian snorted. "Why would you think that?"

"Because you're so fearsome, rude and only talent is firing people"

Daniel choked on his own spit and Ian shot him a glare.

I happily went over the other presents. Lauren has sent Ian a picture of Nathan and her together along with a hoodie, no doubt belong to Nathan. Lexi had sent Daniel a present and Daniel scowled when he saw it. Brian, a box of condoms with an ugly picture of me in highschool pinned to it. And now I've no doubt I would go to jail for murder.

The rest of the company has sent donate appropriate gifts, thankfully but they were also many many love letters. Don't they understand the word taken?

"Sir, are you going to the auction next week?" Daniel asked.

"No" Ian grumbled.

I glanced up. "What auction?"

"There's an auction next week at my parents house. It's a charity event so people expect me to be there but I don't want to go"

"Well if it's a charity event, there's no harm"

"Yes but it's in my parents house"

Before I could reply the door opened. A blond haired man walked in and my eyes widened as I recognised him. It was Isaac Wells, the guy who pushed me off a yacht in California and almost killed me.

Ian suddenly stood up, coming to me. "What are you doing here Isaac?"

Isaac smirked. "Is that how you greet your old friend Ian? I feel very sad now. I just came here to wish you a Happy Birthday"

His eyes fell on me and a grin curled up in his lips. "Aww your little dove is also here. Hello darling" He winked.

"What are you doing here Isaac?" Ian repeated.

Isaac inhaled sharply and collapsed on to a couch. "My grandfather sent me on behalf of him to talk to you and your father about our business deal. I have many things to do. Can we get it over with?" His eyes slid to me. "Your dove can join too"

I scowled. What an asshole. Ian looked at me and I gave a silent I'll go and walked out of the room.

"Go choke on your dick"

Brian laughed. "What? That present was funny"

"Shut up"

"What did Daniel say to my present?"

I gave Lexi a side eye. "You're trying too hard babes"

She shrugged. "He rejected me without even knowing me. I just want to have a one chance"

I tsked as we walked out of the lobby into the parking. My phone suddenly rang and I looked at the caller ID.

And it was surprisingly Audrey.

"Is that Audrey?" Brian peered in. "Can I have her number too?"

"Didn't VP threaten to cut off your twinkie?"

Brian grinned. "That's what makes it better. Forbidden love. That shit is hot"

I rolled my eyes and answered the call. "Hello Audrey"

"Hi Hailey. After a long time, I know. But I have something very important to tell you. Can we meet up tomorrow?"

"Oh yeah sure"

"Good. I'll send you the address of some restaurant or something. We'll meet up there"

"Okay"

"Bye. Gotta go" Then she cut the call.

"What did she say?" Brian asked.

"She said Brian has the smallest dick in the world"

Lexi spluttered with laughter and Brian scowled.

We were about to climb into Lexi's car when I heard a low whistle behind me.

I spun around and found Isaac leaning against a car with his hands tucked inside his pockets.

"You've gotten more hotter than the last time darling"

"What do you want?" I hissed.

Isaac smirked. "Nothing, I just wanted too see you. After all we'll be meeting soon"

I narrowed my eyes. "What does that mean?"

"You'll see soon darling. Till then" He winked and walked away.

I inhaled sharply. I don't feel very good about this.
