Maya's pov:

"Wow Maya! Your choice is commendable. This a really beautiful ring. Perfect combination of elegance and delicacy." Daisy said, looking at Xavier's ring.

"Yeah...She has a good choice." Xavier said, uplifting his shirt's collar.

"See this is called a over confident creature." Lucas said laughing and we all joined, apart from the annoyed Xavier.

"Yeah you can come inside." Liam said to someone on his phone.

A guy came inside with a bag. He gave it to Liam and left.

"Actually, I know that you are too much into branded, luxurious stuff. So, I got you these." Xavier opened the bag to find out that it was the most beautiful collection of almost all the luxurious brands of watches. Nearly 15 watches in all.

Xavier hugged him tightly and said, "Honestly, I should have said things like this is too much, I can't accept this or it was not needed but, I am way too much greedy for these watches. So, thank you so much Liam. I really loved them a lot." Xavier was smiling excitedly, just like a 5 year old kid does when he gets his favourite gifts. And why wouldn't he show excitement? Because from what I have come to know from Anna, this is the first time he is celebrating his birthday after his parents left. So, this excitement of celebrating birthday, cutting cake, getting gifts was a genuine one. Everyone of us was very happy seeing this peace on his face.

Then Daisy came forward with her gift and Xavier was so excited that he literally snatched the gift from her hand and hurriedly opened it.

"I didn't have anything too expensive or luxurious. But, I had this. It's very close to my heart." Daisy said looking at the keychain.

I took a look at the keychain and was shocked to see it.

"It's so beautiful Daisy. Thank you so much. And, yes luxurious things only matter if we have sentiments attached to it. Otherwise they are just some extra vagant pieces. And, this is something my sister gave me with so much love. It's really nice. Thank you so much." Xavier thanked her.

"But, Daisy this is..." Before I could say anything, she cut me off by saying, "It is beautiful." She eyed me, signalling me to keep quite.

"Yeah, it is beautiful. But,..." She again cut me off saying, "Please Maya." Everyone was looking at her, not understanding anything.

"What happened guys? Is everything good?" Lucas asked.

"Yeah. Ever since, Daisy gave me the gift, you seem a bit off Maya." Xavier said to me.

"Yeah. I'm fine. It's just I was shocked seeing the keychain. It holds a great place in Daisy's life." I told them.

"If you guys want to share, we're here." Dan said.

"It was my last gift to my brother." Daisy said.

"You have a brother? You never told us." Lucas said.

"Had. She had a brother." I said.

"What do you mean by had Maya?" Liam asked. By now, Daisy went numb.

"It was somewhere when Daisy was in the second year of her University. She received to call regarding her father's death in an accident . Inspite of the shock she got, she managed herself and quickly went to her mother and her elder brother who were here in New York. She came back quickly and even though being the youngest one in the family , she managed everything well. But, her mother couldn't digest the fact that husband is no more and she suffered a stroke and died 2 days after her father's funeral.

Now, it was only Daisy and her older brother in the family. After sometime she left for the university and he got some bad influence here. He became a drug addict. His situation got so much worsened that he was admitted to the nearest hospital when he was caught driving under the influence of drugs. It was going to be his birthday in the next week but, she had to come early because of the Cops' call. She got this keychain for him but he couldn't survive the heavy dose and died 5 days before his birthday."

I found myself being hugged and my tears wiped by Xavier. I didn't realise when my eyes pooled up with tears. But, her pain is also mine. Daisy was someone really close to me and her pain was the something I could experience. Because, I had seen her and her loneliness battling everything in the way to reach where she was today.

Xavier got up and went to Daisy.

"Thank you so much for making me feel so special. This gift, it will always remain with me till I die. It will always remind me that I have a sister who loves me a lot." He wiped her tears and hugged her.

"Excuse me! She is my sister too. So, I also deserve this hug." Dan went towards Daisy and hugged her from the other side. It felt really nice to see Daisy bonding with them so well.

"Okay guys. Relax. I am fine now. Don't spoil this birthday party. Get up and shoo away." Daisy smilingly got up and sat next to me. Everyone smiled thinking that she was fine. But deep inside, I knew that it was hurting her too much. I thought to let it slide for this moment and will talk to her later.

"Okay. Now it's our turn to give this idiot his gift." Lucas said and he came forward with Dan.

"This feels so exciting to be showered with gifts. Come on. Bring it on. Bring more gifts." Xavier was excitedly bouncing on his seat.

"Xavier dear, just calm down a little bit. You are a man who's soon going to enter his 30s." Anna said laughing.

"Come on Mimi. Don't be a spoilsport. I am feeling so much happy to get all this gifts from these people. Because I know that, never ever any of them would have given me a gift if it was not my birthday." Xavier said and we all laughed at his words.

Xavier excitedly opened the gift that Dan handed over to him and he was literally shocked seeing the things inside and so was I.

There was a board that read LITTLE PUMPKIN COMING SOON. There were toys that little children play with and a pair of shoes of small infants with a picture of the ultrasound.

"Dan." Xavier called out to her.

Dan smilingly nodded at him with tears in her eyes.

"You are gonna be a uncle." Dan said.

"Oh my God Dan." Xavier immediately engulfed her in a huge hug.

I too went forward and hugged Lucas.

"Congratulations Brother. You're gonna be a father."

"And, you're gonna be an aunty." Lucas tried to tease me by saying aunty but I just smiled at him.

"Trust me, I won't mind even if your child calls me grandma. I am so happy for you both."

Xavier was too happy that he still hadn't left Dan from his embrace.

"Xavier leave her. Even I want to congratulate her." Liam said and that's when he left her.

Everyone of us congratulated the couple. I wouldn't lie when I say that this was the best gift Xavier could have ever got.

"When did you come to know about this?" Daisy asked Dan.

"Last week. It's been a month the baby is in there." Dan said pointing at her belly.

"Oh now I understood the reason behind Lucas being extra careful towards Dan." Xavier said.

"Yeah. I have to continuously keep on reminding this child that she also has a child inside her and trust me when I say, I really have to work hard to keep her on a place. Otherwise , she goes around the whole place running like monkey." Lucas said , earning a smack and a cold glare from Dan.

"I'm really so happy to see that my little girl is going to be someone's mother soon." Mimi looked at Dan with tears in her eyes.

Dan got up from couch and went towards Anna. "I am not lying Mimi when I say that I want to be at least 10% of a good mother as you were. Trust me, I don't even remember a single moment spent with my mother because of my small age at that time. But, whenever someone says mother, you are the only one who comes to my eyes. You are not a mother figure to me but you are a mother, a real mother to me. I would be really grateful if I could love my child at least half of how you have loved us." Anna was so emotional that she started crying.

"Dan is right Anna. I'm really thankful to you for how you have raised Xavier and Dan. Trust me, no one could have made them a better person other than you and I really want my child to inherit these qualities of yours. I was actually going to make my parents ask you this but, since this is the moment I want to ask you myself.

Will you please move in with us till the baby comes and for some more time after that to handle Dan and the kid? You know that my parents couldn't leave the restaurants in California and shift here with us. So, my mom suggested me. In fact she was going to ask you herself for this. So please, will you do me a favour of being a granny to my child and helping us raise him?" Lucas said.

Anna was really confused, hearing Lucas requesting her to shift with him.

Xavier went forward and held Anna's hand. "I know you are concerned for me. But, don't worry I won't be alone here. Maya's there with me. Right Maya?" He asked and I nodded smiling. "Plus Dan needs you at this moment the most, more than me. So don't worry about me. I am fine here. And, it's only a matter of few months."

Anna looked convinced listening to Xavier and she said yes for shifting with Dan. For sure, I was going to miss her a lot. But, Dan needed her ; more than me.

Everyone but so happy because of Dan and Lucas. They have literally given us the biggest happiness and gift. Liam was so excited for a child coming to our lives that he literally booked the complete VIP floor of his hospital for the time of Dan's delivery which was approximately 8 months from now.

"Maya, everyone has gifted me some or the other thing. You haven't got me anything. Why?" Xavier asked all of a sudden.

"Uh....I will give it afterwards." I said , unsure of my own answer .

"Why why? Is that something extremely personal?" Dan asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

"No no no. It's nothing like that."

"Then, why aren't you giving it infront of us?" Liam asked me smirking.

Oh God! Why are these people making it difficult for me to answer? How do I tell them that I don't have the gift yet with me.

Having nothing else to answer, I yelled. "Lucas!"

"Maya, I'm calling him. He isn't answering." Lucas said, still dialling to his employee.

Everyone was looking at us, not understanding a word from our conversation. Before I could explain them anything, a guard entered the living room and said, " Mr. Cameron, your employee is here. He said you called him." That's a relief.

"Yeah. Send him in."

A guy came inside with a file in his hand.

"Where were you? You should have reached here a long time back and why the fuck were you not answering my calls?" Lucas started shouting at him.

I went forward and held Lucas' hand. "Its okay Lucas. He reached here. That's more important. Let it be. I'm sure he must have a valid reason for being late." He seemed a bit calm but, was shooting that man draggers asking for a answer.

"I'm... I'm really sorry sir. I promise I left the office on time but, my car broke down in the middle. I tried to get it fixed as soon as I could but, it turned out to be something wrong with the engine. I quickly called a cab to reach here but it also didn't arrive time and in all this process my phone's battery died and that's how I reached here late." He explained still looking down, due to Lucas' fear.

"It's ok as I don't want to spoil my mood today. But, if such thing happens again be ready to say your job, goodbye." Lucas said and took the file from his hand.

His employee left after giving him the file and Lucas handed it over to me.

I was nervous while walking towards Xavier. I am pretty sure that everyone could see my nervousness due to the sweat formed on my forehead. I wiped it with my hand and stood in front of Xavier.

"I don't know if you would like this or not but trust me, I have put a lot of hard work into this. So please, I want you to accept this."

Author's pov:

Xavier as well as everyone, except Lucas, inside the living room was confused looking at Maya right now. No one knew what was inside the file and curiosity was killing them.

"What's inside it?" Xavier asked.

Maya forwarded him the file and he began reading it . Every line he read, his eyes turned more wide and every page he turned, his face grew into a shade more red than ever due to anger. As soon as he finished reading, he slammed the file on to the couch and held Maya tightly by her shoulders.

"What is this? And most importantly how did you do this ? And more important than that, what the fuck did you sacrifice for this?" He asked her in anger.

"Xavier stop it. You are scaring her." Lucas said, seeing Maya shivering under his hold.

"Don't you dare interrupt Lucas. I very well know that she can't do this alone. You have a very big share of this blunder done on your behalf. I will come to you as well. Just let me deal with her first." Xavier shut down Lucas with his words.

"Xavier just calm down. Your anger has always let you to take wrong decisions. Sit down properly and tell us what is the matter? What's there in this file?" Anna somehow managed to handle him a bit.

"These are the papers of the land in India. It was dad's dream project. Even though being an investment banker, he always wanted to start hotel in grandma's name. And as you know, my grandmother, she was an Indian.

Dad was searching for a proper place in India so that a hotel is built over there. After lot of tries, he got the place. Everything was almost finalised just the final payment was remaining when he died. These are the papers of that land.

I also got a chance to acquire this place but, it was the time of Maya's accident. I was so engrossed in taking care of her, that I neglected this deal. When I tried later, Mr. Kapoor then refused to have a meeting with me. I couldn't even blame him because at the time she was my priority not the land. But today, all of a sudden she brings me the papers of that land which is on her name right now and she is transferring that to me." Xavier told everyone.

"Sorry to interrupt Xavier. But, isn't that a good thing? She got you something very valuable. Why are you so angry about this?" Liam asked.

"Because for god's sake, I know that this is a very expensive deal. At least for her. When I was into this deal, Mr. Kapoor, the owner of the place, told me an amount of 10 million dollars for this and I am pretty sure seeing, within how short period of a time she got this , she must have paid extra.

And before anyone could say that she was have taken help from someone, I am pretty sure that neither she has taken any money from Dan, Lucas or Liam. So without wasting any time, either you tell me the complete truth Maya or I am finding it out my way." Xavier said looking at Maya. He was less angry now but, his intense gaze demanded answers.

"I...I ....got this with my own.... money." Maya stammered.

"And, where did you get this money?" Xavier tried his best to stay calm.

"I had it with me, in my account."

"According to the papers, you signed this deal for 11.8 million dollars. And, from what I remember, you had some around 4 millions in your account. Where did you get the rest 7 from?" He said, rechecking the papers.

Maya was quiet. Not because she didn't have an answer but, due to the fear of Xavier's reaction on knowing the truth.

"I'm waiting Maya." Xavier said, in a calm but extremely dangerous tone.

"I ....sold Safety Kit." She said, tightly closing her eyes.

"YOU SOLD WHAT?" Xavier yelled at the top of his voice.

"Xavier just listen to her once." Lucas said, trying to save Maya from his wrath.

"DON'T!" Xavier dangerously eyed Lucas to shut up.

Xavier threw a dangerous look towards both Maya and Lucas and furiously walked to his room.

Everyone in the room was hell shocked seeing this sight. No one understood what was the thing about Safety Kit and why it made him so furious. Everyone was waiting for answers, looking at Lucas.

But, rather than giving them the answers, he found it more important to put some sense in Xavier's pea sized brain. He too walked behind Xavier to his room while everyone else was consoling a broken Maya.
