The competitions between Film and Television Media companies were brutal, yet Lu JingYan voluntarily invested hundreds of millions yuan into ”Sting Yourself” as an individual rather than under the name of Oushi.

That was doubtless an expected sum of money for Director Qi. He said very emotionally to Lu JingYan, “Thank you so much, Boss Lu, thank you. I will for sure do my best and not let you down.”

After that had been settled, Lu JingYan added casually, “By the way, there’s a girl by the name of Chi Ying at the Performing Department of the Film Academy. Have her audition the role of second female lead.”

“Do you mean we should give her special treatment, Boss Lu?” asked Qi HongCheng with uncertainty.

“No need. Pick the best candidate for the role,” replied Lu JingYan solemnly. “And, keep the fact that I am an investor a secret.”

Qi HongCheng quickly acknowledged his request.

He dialed Chi Ying afterward.

Chi Ying’s heart skipped a beat when she found out that it was the director of “Sting Yourself” who was reaching out to her. Everybody has heard of “Sting Yourself”. It was an extremely popular book and the film was already popular before the filming has even commenced.

Perturbed, he asked, “When is the audition?”

“This upcoming Saturday, so two days from now. Do come.”

Chi Ying’s hand that was holding up the phone paused. Saturday was the day that she had cleared her schedule for Chi Cheng.

She turned and looked at Chi Cheng who was doodling on his kid’s table, pursed her lips, and went silent.

“Thank you, Director Qi. But I am not available this Saturday.”

“If it wasn’t something too important, I’d urge you to make some arrangements to your plans. This audition is by invitation only. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

“Let me think about it. I will get back to you tomorrow.”

“Okay. Let me email you the location of the audition. You can just let me know via email. Do bring a hardcopy of your resume on the day of the audition.”

Chi Ying felt a giant weight on her heart after she had hung up on the phone. Chi Cheng pitter pattered toward her while waving his doodle in his hand.

In the middle of the drawing there was a young woman holding the hand of a little boy. They were standing on top of the clouds. The sky was very colorful and all sorts of animals were lying around on top of the clouds, smiling at them.

Chi Cheng’s eyes sparked in excitement and he said, “This is for you, Mom.”

Chi Ying felt her heart being washed over by a sense of warmth and she had quickly made up her mind.

That Friday, Chi Ying had half a day of class then she travelled over half of the city to attend to two auditions.

She responded to Director Qi that very night.

Qi HongCheng did not reply to her via email or phone so Chi Ying had put this entire incident out of her mind.

Saturday morning, Chi Cheng woke up in the crisp chirping sound of the birds.

Today, Mommy was lying next to him.

Mommy said she’d take him to the zoo today.

But Mommy looked so tired.

She was sound asleep.

He needed to pee. What should he do?

After thinking about this and that, Chi Cheng finally rolled out of bed and landed lightly on the floor.

He put on his slippers and tipped toe over to the bathroom.

With a child this lifetime, Chi Ying has more on her mind and didn’t usually sleep very deeply. She opened up her tired eyes when she heard water sound.

Still half asleep, Chi Ying reflexively reached over to Chi Cheng who normally slept next to her. She discovered that he was missing.

Anxiety and worry taken over her and she woke up immediately.

When Chi Cheng tipped toe back to the room, he saw that Chi Ying had already sat up with a jacket over her. His little brows immediately furrowed.

He quickly ran over to the bed and apologized sincerely. “I’m sorry, Mommy, for waking you up.”

Chi Ying, realizing that Chi Cheng had went to the bathroom on his own, was finally able to relax.
