Chapter 72 - The Green Sun (1)

The first, and also main, filming location of “The Green Sun” was located at a very picturesque area in City Z.

There were mountains and water and blossoming flowers.

Chi Ying followed quietly behind the crew with a large backpack on her back.

She has not graduated yet nor had she signed any contracts so she did not join the crew.

Sometimes others would forget that she was a part of the crew and thought that she was just a pretty tourist.

The path up the mountain was rough and not very many people stopped and greeted Chi Ying. Anyone who was in the entertainment circle, including the 18th-tier actors/actresses, as long as they were once a victim of internet violence, they’d know to watch what they say in public.

A few others still turned around and asked her questions here and there.

What Chi Ying said the most was “My name is Chi Ying”.

And “No, I have not signed a contract yet.”

She always followed that with a slight smile and she was soft and attractive like the late cherry blossom in April.

After a long and treacherous path, the crew finally arrived at their filming location.

Gu YuanChen, at the front of the line, called out to her, “Chi Ying.”

He had on a black windbreaker which accentuated his body shape, making him appeared young and handsome.

Chi Ying still remember what Gu YuanChen had said to her once, “If you really want to thank me, I hope there will be no retake. You don’t always get a second chance.”

Chi Ying acknowledged him and walked over to the middle of the site under everybody’s stare.

Noises could be heard coming from the group.

The young girl at the very end of the group… was not only not a tourist, but she might be the female lead?

The male lead of “The Green Sun” was the highly popular film emperor Qi Yuan. When the news were leaked, it had attracted a lot of his fans.

What the fans didn’t know was that the big stars’ time was very precious and that a show was never filmed in the order of its plotline; rather, it was adjusted flexibly depending on the location and the team members of the day.

Today was the first day of filming and Qi Yuan was not there. It was mainly going to be Chi Ying’s scenes. Qi Yuan’s fans had travelled the long and arduous way there and their idol was missing. Disgruntled, it was very easy for Chi Ying to became the scapegoat.

Gu YuanChen arranged for the makeup artist to help Chi Ying apply her makeup.

Chi Ying has very delicate features and her lines were smooth. Her eyes always looked like there were stars sparkling inside of them. Even in just plain clothes, her charm still shone through and attracted everybody’s eyeballs quietly.

Everybody was amazed her Chi Ying’s look and, at the same time, they were worried for her. She was so young and her skin was like smooth jade. She was like a flower that had been protected her entire life. Without experiencing wild wind and torrential rain, they worried how she would be able to portray the kind of sadness and pain that was required of the role.

What was surprised them all was that a word from Gu YuanChen and those eyes looked at though they belonged to a different person. The emotions that were contained within them had changed drastically.

All it took was the amount of time it took to look up for Chi Ying to get into the role.

The carefree youth, the pain of growing up, the unjust of one’s dreams being destroyed, the sorrow of losing one’s loved ones. There were no characters that she could not portray.

She seemed to be able to speak with her eyes.

Scenes after scenes were filmed. Gu YuanChen was known to be demanding but he never once said to stop. All of the scenes took only one shot.

All of the audiences were stunned. Not one person was not conquered by her acting skill.

The pyrotechnic team wasn’t there today so they couldn’t film the war scenes. The scene of Chi Ying kneeing in the muddy water with an enraged look became the climax of the day.
