Chapter 96 - "I am lost. Take me out of here"

He saw that Chi Ying’s lips were pale, her look haggard, her eyes red and she was choking back her tears.

She saw her hugging the man by the name of Qi Yuan tightly and her soft waist sank almost entirely into him.

Both of their clothes were raggedly and they were in close bodily contact.

Her emotions were real as was the look on her.

Their tacit understanding was so good that the filming never stopped once in the middle.

He felt a wave of jealousy covering him up like a blanket falling from the sky and his heart ache like it was being tore apart.

3 PM, the production team was cleaning up.

Everybody let out a sigh of relief and even Gu YuanChen, who was normally very solemn, was more mellow than usual.

The mountainous roads were rugged and difficult to travel on but the crew members emotions were uplifting.

Different than on their way there when everybody’s guards were up, now they were happily chatting and singing all the way.

It was cheerful and relaxing time. Half way through, Jiang NingNing suddenly let out a painful “OW!”

“What’s the matter?” asked Chi Ying as she walked quickly up to Jiang NingNing. Jiang NingNing had sprung her ankle and her face was pale and looked like she was in pain. “Are you alright?”

“Yeah, I just spaced out for a second there.” Jiang NingNing smiled shamelessly and said, “Qi Yuan’s back was too attractive.”

“Alright. This is not going to be easy.” Chi Ying held onto her temperlessly and Jiang NingNing limped her way down the mountain.

After they have arrived at where they were staying, they started packing up slowly.

Jiang NingNing let out another annoyed cry, “YingYing, I left my iPad at the set. Can you come with me to get it?”

Chi Ying was a little bit stunned.

She looked at Jiang NingNing’s swollen ankle for a second and said, “I’ll go get it for you. Round trip will only take about 40 minutes. The crew won’t be heading out for another hour. Don’t worry. We have plenty of time.”

Before Jiang NingNing could turn down her suggestion, Chi Ying quickly walked out of the homestay and bumped straight into Lu JingYan’s cold look.

Standing up tall and straight, Lu JingYan’s brows furrowed.

Chi Ying quickly walked through the woods, the market, and into the mountain.

It wasn’t close to the evening yet, but it was gloomy out. The dark clouds were hanging very low and had no signs of moving out of the way.

Chi Ying was very familiar with the road and quickly traversed three-quarter of the way.

All the way until she came up to a split in the road where the Chinese scholar trees rose high up into the sky.

Wind was passing through the mountain and the fog was cold.

This was not her first time walking down this path and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

When she turned her body, however, she was suddenly pulled into a broad and sturdy chest.

The man’s slender but strong arms wrapped tightly around her waist and she could smell a clean and refreshing scent.

It was overcast outside and the light was dim. Somehow, the very tidy shirt in front of her was glaringly white.

His cold, indifferent, deep and restrained voice entered into her ears.

“I’m lost. Take me out of here.”

Chi Ying was stunned. Was she dreaming or had Lu JingYan lost his mind?

She wanted to struggle free immediately but when she looked up abruptly, she saw a thin layered of sweat on the man’s forehead. There were dark circles around his eyes and there seemed to be many different emotions going through his profound eyes.

Chi Ying was so surprised that her pupil constricted a little.

Normally, let it be the Lu JingYan on the magazine covers, or on the television, or in the news… he looked nothing like he did right now. His suit was always impeccable, his look indifferent, and he was always calm in demeanor. It was as though nothing could ever out of his control and he would never be frantic.

If not for the ending that she could foresee and the resentment that was brought about by it, Chi Ying would have admired him very much.
