《Only Sleeping ✔️》Chapter 18

Mason
The game starts and Gage basically kicks Will and Jenna off the beanbags so he could sit and watch the game, Hank taking the other bean bag.
It makes sense since Jenna and Will aren't here to watch the game, but it annoys me. I was enjoying Will's company, I may have even been enjoying Jenna's company for that matter.
I don't say anything. I just lean back in my chair and try not to focus on Will.
The game starts to get good, but I'm not invested at all. Jenna and Will went upstairs, but it doesn't matter. I still can't get him out of my head. Hank and I are sleeping here tonight and despite knowing I'll have to wait for Hank to fall asleep I'm itching to go to Will's room. Longing for it to be night, the I only time I can hold him and pretend everything is easy.
Instead it's half time and all the guys are rushing upstairs for snacks.
Gage hangs back with me "you good?"
I shrug "fine, tired" he lifts a brow as if not believing me but sighs "fine I won't push, but if you want to talk I'm here"
He pats his chest "your best bro ready and willing to be your shoulder to cry on, your rock, your human Kleenex"
I cringe shoving his shoulder lightly "your disgusting" he laughs pointing at me "I got you to smile"
I roll my eyes, but he's right and I can feel that a smile has tugged its way onto my face.
It drops when we enter the kitchen because it's replaced by a frown. Austin is standing next to Will who's laughing and he's leaning close to Will, too close.
I cement my feet to the floor on the opposite side of the island. Not allowing myself to give into my temptation and rush around the island and to pull Austin away from him. Instead I just watch intensely.
"You don't want to watch the game?" Will shakes his head his cheeks blushing slightly "I..I don't really get it" Austin lifts a brow "you don't get it?"
Will sighs "I understand how it works obviously, Gage has played like our whole lives, but I don't really get the hype"
Austin chuckles "well if we ever go to a real game I'll show you the hype" Will's face gets even darker and Gage gives me a look, but I'm already glaring daggers at Austin.
Jack chuckles "woah Austin starting to sound a little gay" Gage grunts "it's gay to want to go to a football game?"
Jack lifts a brow caught off guard by Gage's response and even I'm surprised; Any other time Gage would just agree with Jack's joke about Austin being a little friendly. My eyes drift to Will who looks like a deer caught in headlights and lift a brow did Will come out to Gage?
Jack holds up his hands in defence "I'm kidding I know he means nothing by it just a joke" Gage shrugs grumbling "stupid joke" Jack sighs "sorry"
I turn my attention back to Will and Austin watching as Austin rolls his eyes at Jack and nods to Will "let me know if you ever want to try and understand the hype" Will chuckles, but it seems forced and his smile doesn't reach his eyes when he nods.

Shortly after Austin announces the game will be coming back on and heads downstairs with Gage and Jack. I stay upstairs using the excuse of waiting for Hank, but really I just want to be near Will a while longer.
Hank is busy stuffing food in his mouth and Jenna makes a face "are you starving or something?"
Hank nods eagerly gesturing to me "all this guy feeds me is pizza, and I love pizza, but after four times it's gets old...fast"
Will laughs, but Jenna tilts her head looking at me "Mason feeds you?" Hank pauses but nods "um..yeah"
I cringe and Jenna looks like she's about to ask why, but Hank just grunts "our moms dead and our dad hasn't really been winning dad of the year..." before I can scold him for oversharing Will kicks Hank under the table "dude!"
Hank glares "ow!" Jenna just bites her lip "oh..I didn't know" I roll my eyes "Hank sometimes you should read the room"
He sighs shrugging "I thought since she's his girlfriend he would have told her"
Will makes a face as does Jenna but I full on glare "not his girlfriend."
Hank lifts a brow "um she's a friend and she's a girl so yes his girlfriend" I narrow my eyes "she's not his girlfriend Hank."
Hank rolls his eyes "who cares if she's his girlfriend?" I grunt "she's not."
Hank is about to argue again when Will speaks "We're just friends" Jenna nods "No offence to Will, but ew no thank you"
Hank laughs at that and Will rolls his eyes "wow Jenna way to tell me I'm going to die alone" I roll my eyes like Will will die alone. It won't happen. I'd make sure of that myself.
I nod to Hank "coming to watch the rest of the game?" He shrugs pushing his stool back from the island and jumping off "sure" he nods at Will "watching a scary movie with us tonight?"
Will immediately shakes his head while Jenna laughs "yeah right" Hank pouts "aw c'mon Will at least see if you can make it longer then last time" Will bites his lip "I don't know Hank"
Hank sighs "you can sit on the couch with us this time" Will sighs and I want to just tell Hank no, but Will nods "fine. Later" Hank claps his hands "yes! This is going to be hilarious" I grunt "Hank let's go"
He chuckles, but reluctantly follows me back downstairs to watch the game. When we get downstairs I sit on the empty chair and Hank plops down on a beanbag.
Gage nods "you've missed nothing, we're playing like shit!" Hank makes a face "if we lose to the Seals I'll be so disappointed"
Gage grunts "don't speak it into existence!"
Hank rolls his eyes "whatever"
We watch the rest of the game and thankfully for all of us we win and don't have to listen to Gage have a tantrum. Will and Jenna don't come downstairs again until Austin and Jack start to get ready to leave.
Austin and Jack both say goodbye to Will and Jenna. Austin of course reminding Will of his offer to go to a game with him. My fists clench unintentionally at his words, but Will just gives him a polite smile and nods his head.

I'm happy he doesn't seem too eager.
Gage however looks at me and grunts "he's definitely hitting on him right?" I shrug "yeah maybe" I don't want my jealously to become too apparent.
Hank turns to everyone after the guys leave "okay! So scary movie?!" I roll my eyes, but Gage nods "he'll yeah! Will?"
Will bites his lip, but shrugs "okay...you guys start it I'm going to bring Jenna home" Gage nods "okay, keys are on the counter"
Will nods heading to get the keys and Hank rolls his eyes "fine scaredy-cat" I sigh at his instigating "alright c'mon go pick a movie" I push Hank towards the stairs and Gage follows.
Hank and Gage argue about which movie to watch for a good 15 minutes and by the time Will gets back the movies barely started.
He steps off the last step and moves to sit on a beanbag, but Hank shakes his head "nope! Sit on the couch wouldn't want you to get tooo scared down there!" Will roll his eyes and glances at me slightly before moving to the spot Hank is gesturing to in between us.
Will sits closer to Hank leaving enough space that he doesn't risk touching me.
Gage is sitting in the chair next to the couch and laughs "I give Will half hour tops before he leaves"
Hank chuckles "I don't know..I think he can make it through at least an hour" Will whines "guyyys!" Hank chuckles, but turns back to the tv.
The movie is not really that scary, but Will is tense for the majority of it, we pass the half hour mark and Gage makes a comment about it not being much longer before Will has to go.
The movie starts to play eerie music and we're all aware a jump scare is coming. I glance at Will who subconsciously scoots closer to my side of the couch and I almost smile.
A moment later the main character gets scared and screams loudly, Will squeaks and jumps moving closer to me again.
Gage chuckles "Will you good?" Will bites his lip and nods slowly "y yeah"
Hank laughs "surprised you're still here" Will just shifts toward me and sinks deeper into the couch.
We're almost at the end of the movie and Will is touching me his leg pressed against mine. My arm is across the back of the couch and in turn my hand casually brushes against Will's shoulder. I let my fingers graze his shoulder longer when he tenses up and it seems to help. The movie ends and Will let's out a huge breath of relief.
Hank laughs out loud "jeez cat boy it wasn't that bad" Will shakes his head "I..I'm never watching that again"
Gage chuckles "damn your practically sat in Mason's lap" Will's face tinges and he shuffles away from me making me frown "I didn't mean to"
Gage laughs "guess moving closer to the biggest guy in the room makes sense if you're worried a little doll is going to come get you"
Will cringes "don't"
Gage shakes his head laughing "good thing we don't have a sister you wouldn't be able to look at a doll"
Will cringes standing "definitely not" he shivers at the thought and moves toward the stairs "I'm going to bed" Hank chuckles "good job staying for the whole movie Catboy!"
Will rolls his eyes "goodnight Hanky Panky"
Hank makes a face "ugh" Will chuckles and says goodnight to Gage before his eyes land on me a moment and he heads upstairs.
I send Hank to go get ready for bed and Gage nods "I'm seriously impressed he watched that whole movie"
I chuckle "he's 17 I'm sure he can't be that scared of a movie" Gage shakes his head "you'd be surprised" I shrug "well good for him"
Gage nods "probably your big ass sitting next to him that made him stay" I laugh with him and hit his shoulder playfully, but my mind whirls am I the reason Will stayed? Did I make him feel safe?
Gage sighs "you really think Austin's hitting on Will?" He makes a face continuing before I can respond "is that a bad thing?"
I lift a brow confused and he shrugs "Austin's a good guy...if he and Will like...hypothetically if Will was gay and that happened should I be mad?" My face hardens I'd be mad. I'd be livid, but I can't say that to Gage.
"Austin's a good guy" it feels like shit to say, but he is.
If Will ended up with Austin I couldn't even claim to be a better option. Austin's funny and friendly, he's nice to everyone, he's always in a good mood, he's smart and good at football. He's all around a great guy, and that's what Will deserves, everything I'm not; a great guy.
Gage rubs a hand through his hair "ugh maybe your right..I should just let Will figure it out himself right?" I nod "yeah he's smart" I cringe as I say it. Maybe Will's not smart, not when he keeps letting me get in his bed. I shake my head as Hank comes out of the bathroom.
"I'm exhausted" Gage nods "yeah same, goodnight man" he goes into his room and Hank gets comfortable on the couch.
"You going to bed?" I nod "yeah goodnight" he mumbles a goodnight back and lays down. I sit down on the recliner and lean back staring at the ceiling. Wondering if I should even go upstairs. The same internal debate I have every night.
When Will texted me yesterday I wanted nothing more then to ignore him. I wanted to do what's best and force myself to forget he ever texted me. Instead I came here and I held him. I wrapped my arms around him and breathed in his scent like I deserved to do it.
I sigh because I know tonight will be no different. I glance at Hank happy to find he's asleep.
