《His Hybrid Mate | COMPLETED》8.

It has been two weeks since I saw Grayson and the group. They haven't showed up to school either. I hope they were okay. I also hope that Caleb turned back okay. I can't believe there was something blocking him.
"Brooklyn, what do you mean Caleb was blocked from turning back?" Melissa asked me as I eat my cereal.
I looked at her with wide eyes before asking,"Can you please stay out of my thoughts?"
"Sorry," she apologized,"But you didn't answer my question."
I sighed,"Something happened at school, and Caleb almost turned. When he was trying to turn back, dark magic blocked him from doing it."
Melissa dropped her pen, and she looked at me seriously. "Brooklyn, please promise me that you will stay away from dark magic."
"Why?" I asked her while she cleared her throat.
"I can't tell you, but just promise me," Melissa said, shutting her computer.
"I promise," I replied, slightly weirded out.
"Thank you. Now you need to go or you'll be late," Melissa said all smiley faced.
What was going on with her?
"You're right. I have to attend another boring day at school," I replied, putting my cereal bowl in the sink.
"Well, at least you actually have some free time. I have to go to Alpha's Alex house today for a meeting. It's for all witches and wizards," Melissa said, walking over to the kitchen.
I grabbed my bag before turning around and saying,"Do you think it's related to what happened to Caleb?"
Melissa shrugged,"It could be or it could be something else. All the letter said was that we need to be there at this certain times and where."
"Oh, well please be safe," I said, giving her a half smile.
"Always. You too. Bye, Brooklyn," Melissa said, waving goodbye.
"Bye," I replied before walking out of the kitchen.
I walked out of the house, shutting the door behind me. I walked along the the sidewalk, admiring the sky and plants.
I plugged in my earbuds, and I placed them in my ears. Some pop song played, and I continued to walk to the school.
For the past two weeks, I have kept to myself. I pretty sure it has something to do with the mate bond since I feel sad and lonely since Grayson wasn't around.
When I walked into the school, I ignored everybody by walking past them without a glance. I walked up the stairs towards my locker. I kept my earbuds in my ears as I put my combination in my locker.

It popped open, and I threw my bag in there. I grabbed my books that I needed for the first two periods before shutting it.
I walked slowly to Mrs. Jackson's room, and the bell rang when I walked in the classroom. I sat down in my usual seat, and I laid my head on my textbook.
"Now, class, today's assignment will be a little different. For the next two weeks, you'll be doing a project. Now, you and your partner will have to work together to create your own story about love or hate just like Romeo + Juliet.
It has to at least have two thousand words, and it will be due two weeks from today. This project will be 50% of your final grade this semester so I advise you to do your best on it," Mrs. Jackson instructed.
"Now, I have already assigned your partners so listen for your name. Ava and Max, Joey and Christian, Isabelle and Julian, Caleb and Allison, Tyler and Zoey...." Mrs. Jackson continued to say names.
"And Grayson and Brooklyn," Mrs. Jackson finished with a smile on her face. "If you're partner is not here, you can still figure out an idea. Get started."
Half of me was excited that Grayson was my partner, but the other half was angry because I have to do this project all by myself if he doesn't show.
I opened my notebook, and I started writing idea for our short story. By the time I came up with an idea, the bell rang.
I decided to skip next period since we had a substitute, and they don't care where we go as long as we don't do anything stupid.
I stopped by my locker, throwing my books in it. Then I walked out of the school out to the woods. I needed to clear my mind. I'm upset because I haven't heard anything out of Grayson or group.
They could be dead for all I know. When I was half way in the woods, I grabbed a stick. I threw it against a tree, breaking it in half.
I don't know why my emotions are so heighten, but that relived some anger. I felt the urge to turn, but I pushed that thought away. No way I could change in the middle of day with people all around.
I was about to turn around and go back to the school when I heard a low, deep growl. I looked around me, but I didn't see anything. I sniffed the air, and it didn't smell like rogue, instead it smelled like someone familiar.

Then a dark brown wolf jumped out of the bushes. It's eyes weren't red like rogues, but, instead, dark brown, almost black, eyes.
Something about this wolf was familiar, but I couldn't place my finger on it.
I was so deep in thought that I didn't see that the wolf charged at me. At the last second, I spun out of the way, and the wolf hit the tree behind me.
The wolf shook his head before growling at me again. It leaped at me again, but this time I wasn't expecting it. The wolf grabbed my wrist, and the wolf threw me on the ground. He got on top of me, and I kneed him in the ribs.
I pushed him off of me before standing back up.
I used my super speed and I ran away from the school with the wolf followed behind me. It was almost as fast as me.
I saw a thick tree branch connecting to another tree. It was high enough that the wolf couldn't get me. I used all of my strength, and I jumped. I grabbed the branch, and I pulled myself up on the branch. The wolf jumped at me, but he couldn't quite reach me.
"Caleb?!" I heard Julian's voice yell.
The wolf snapped his head, and he took off running towards Julian. The wolf was Caleb. If that was Caleb then he needs help because he was almost as vicious as a rogue.
I have to check on Julian. I jumped from the branch to the ground. Then I ran to Julian, but I stopped when I almost fell in a deep round pit. The walls were too steep to climb back up, and if you wanted to climb down, you would be sliding.
I saw Julian on his human form, and Caleb in his wolf form circling each other in the pit.
"Caleb, please, it's me, Julian," Julian said, gently. Caleb growled, ready to pounce on Julian.
I have a plan. I backed up from the edge, back into the trees. I used my hearing to hear when Caleb jumps. I waited for a few seconds before using my super speed. I ran, and I jumped off the edge.
Since Caleb was in mid air, instead of him pouncing on Julian, I wrapped my arms around Caleb's body, pushing him to the right. We fell on the ground with me on top of Caleb.
I got off of Caleb quickly, and he stood up. I heard Julian behind me gasp. When Caleb charged at me, I brought my arm back and I slapped him, sending him back into the dirt.
He was unconscious. I took a deep breath before looking back at Julian.
"Why are your eyes silver?" Julian asked me with wide eyes.
"Look, Julian, you can't tell anybody," I said, quickly.
"What are you?" Julian asked, walking closer to me.
I was about to answer when a voice cut us off.
"Julian?! Did you find him?!" I heard Allison yell.
I heard her heartbeat a few yards away. She wasn't close to the pit, but she was walking this way.
"Shit, I have to go," I said, looking back at Julian.
"Not until you tell me what you are," Julian demanded.
"Look, I will tell you everything later. Please don't tell anybody," I told him.
He was silent for a second before he said,"Fine, but you better tell me everything."
I nodded,"Thank you."
Then I used my super speed and I ran up the wall. I smelled Allison so I quickly ran out of sight. I ran all the way to my house, worried.
"Melissa!" I yelled, slamming the front door behind me.
The house was silent, and I ran around the house looking for Melissa. She wasn't here.
Then I remembered she was going to that meeting with Alpha Alec. I felt dizzy and light headed and the whole house spun. My breathing was quick and short. I sat down on the couch which seemed to help a little.
What is happening to me?
Then my arm started to burn like crazy. I looked at my arm to see a huge bite on my arm. There was dark red blood dripping down my arm.
How did I not notice the bite?
Before I could think about it, black dots started to cloud my vision, and before I knew it darkness took over.

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Shattered Realms - A Pathfinder/D&D game
Broke adventurers looking for a quick and easy paycheck are thrust together as circumstances around them get weirder and weirder. Authors note: This is an ongoing Pathfinder (DnD) game, which will inevitably contain references to other works due to the nature of nerds. Chapters will be random lengths, mostly as long as a game session and depending on how much I can embelish it. Also, some details may change retroactively to maintain consistency. I'm not going to write it as LitRPG, mostly because that's extra work. I'd rather the flow of the story not be interrupted by numbers. I am aiming for updates within a week or two of the game session, which will usually be weekly. Finally, there is a light swearing, gore and sexual references warning. I will update this warning if needed, but will also not write in anything that's too graphic or irrelevant to the story.
