I slowly walked up the stairs to the roof, where I had met Alexa this morning. My steps were soft and light, gun held tightly in my grasp, waiting for me to shoot. I put my finger on the trigger as I reached the top, the door cracked in the slightest. I pushed it open with the tip of the gun as I peered outside. There were three men up here, all crouched, guns pointed at the ground below.
I slowly slipped on the roof, hiding behind one of the beach chairs. I put my back to one, letting a breath go before looking over its corner. Adjusting my stance, I pointed the gun at one of the three that was closest to me and let the bullet go. The others turned to him as the body flopped to the side and I jumped up, shooting a guy in the chest and the last one in the knee.
The third one was searching his body for something when I moved forward and quickly hit him with my gun making him loose consciousness. Sighing, I went to the other two, removing their belts and using them to tie the third one up before I dragged him to one of the many chairs.
"Roof squad four what is your status?"
My eyes snapped to the man's chest, a walkie talkie sticking out. I picked it out and held it in my grasp.
"Roof squad four I repeat, what is your status?"
Knowing my plan would be blown, I pressed one of the buttons.
"It's clear." I said in the deepest voice I could manage, waiting for a response. The walkie talkie was quiet for a few seconds as I held my breath.
"Copy."
Oh thank God. I put the walkie talkie in the waistband of my pants as I knelt next to the unconscious man.
"Oy! Shithead!" I said slapping the guy's cheeks. "Wake up!" It took a while but the man's brown eyes slowly blinked open. "There's those ugly eyes."
"Wha.. wha.."
"Shh shh big guy. Don't waste your energy. I'm going to need it," I said with a smile. It took time for him to register what position he was in. He tagged at the binds on his wrists and moved his leg that caused him to let out a pined groan and a wince.

"Yeah you might not want to move," I said setting my hands on my knees and peering into his eyes. "I just have a few questions ok?"
He glared at me and spat in my face. His disgusting saliva landed on my cheek and I quickly wiped it away, a disgusted look on my face. I now knew why I was punished in the "safe house" for doing this shit. Urgh.
"That was very unsanitary," I said wiping my hands on one of the many chairs. "I just want to know what you came here for."
The guy continued to glare at me and I knew he wouldn't talk. Rolling my eyes, I begun to unbuckle his belt. He tried to struggle against me but I kept my body out of his reach and every movement he made with his knee caused him to wince.
"Open wide," I told him, moving the belt to his lips. He struggled but I managed to gag him. "Look. I'm trying to be nice here. I really am but I left someone downstairs who needs me so..."
I dug my finger into his bullet wound and he screamed against the gag. I winced as his body jerked. "I know. It hurts right? This is what's going to happen if I don't get answers."
I twisted and curled my finger in the wound, the uncomfortably warm interior encompassing me. My hand was covered in blood and the man continued to scream until I pulled my finger out. Sweat beaded his forehead and he breathed heavily through the gag. I reached forward and pulled it off him.
"Now, why are you here?" I asked and brought my other hand up, covering his fingers with mine. "Tell me or I move to the fingers next."
The guy threw his head back, his face red and veins prominent. He was breathing deeply and I knew he felt a lot. "You seem new to this and let me just say, it doesn't get better from here. It really doesn't. You look young. You can't die now right? You probably have a family, a boyfriend or girlfriend, siblings, some people that need you. Don't make this hard on both of us."

My voice was laced with sympathy as I gazed at the man who continued to glare at me. "Not talking? Ok I'll just..." I went to put the gag back on.
"Wait!" He said in a loud voice. I dropped my hands and leaned back on my heels.
"Yes..."
"I'll tell you what you need to know," he said and I motioned for him to go on. "Go to hell you black bitch!" he snapped and I rolled my eyes.
"That's the thing love. I know I'm going to hell and yes I'm black. People should really stop stating the obvious," I said shaking my head in disappointment. "I'm going to kill you now because you are absolutely useless ok?"
I smiled as I reached forward and put the belt between his teeth again. I sighed and slapped his knee, causing him to jerk and scream in pain. "Well you stupid sod. It's been fun but... ya know."
I lifted my gun and shot him in the stomach causing him to scream and tears to pour down his now red face.
"Don't worry. I didn't hit anything major. You'll bleed out to death if not attended to in the next few hours or so. Just know I'm going to kill all your little buddies so no one's going to help you," I told the guy standing up. "You could've just given me the answers I wanted but no matter. I have the walkie talkie. I'll just follow what they say."
I snorted because as soon as the device was in my hand, I didn't need to torture him but that was more fun. I saw him place his bound hands tightly on his new bullet wound. Good luck with that champ.
I rolled my eyes and picked up another gun that was on the floor, tucking it in my pants and picking out the walkie talkie. I turned it on and listened to the conversations as I moved to one of the snipers.
"Roof squad five what is your status?" The voice from before asked.
"The north wing of the mansion is clear sir. No sign of our Black Beauty." someone responded.
I screwed my face. Black Beauty really? That was a bad code name. I literally looked nothing like that damned horse. At least the people who ruined my life gave me the name Jade Scythe which honestly wasn't that bad.
I pointed the sniper to the north side of the mansion, searching for my beloved snipers. I hummed a soft tune as I located the first team, letting my shots fly through the air. I only gave headshots and the people were dead before their bodies even begun to flop to the side.
"Roof squad one. How is the centre looking?"
"It's clear sir. Not any sign of movement."
I turned my gun to the watchtower at the gate. It was the only place where you could see the centre of the estate. Don't ask how I know that. I found the two idiots quickly and down they went. I waited for the next order to be given.
"Sir, four dead men found in the main house."
Oh fuck.
"Anything else?"
"Looks like our Black Beauty is here sir. She's in the estate."
"Copy. All inside units, do a full sweep."
I got up from the sniper with a grumble. Are these people even serious? I checked my guns, making sure they were both fully loaded before I walked towards the door and down the stairs. I couldn't let them find Faye.
I walked down the hall, both guns in hand and at the ready. I paused when I heard soft footsteps coming towards me and pressed my back against the wall as I peered over the edge. Six armed men moved in teams of three, checking each and every room, drawing closer to where I stood.
I pulled my head back and rested it on the wall behind me, taking a deep breath.
Show time.
