It had been several months since the press release about my relationship and Alley and I were being very careful not to get spotted out together. It really sucked that we had to sneak around like we were doing something wrong, but it also made it kind of hot too.

When she came to my games she would always hang back when she waited for me, trying her best to blend in with the rest of the people waiting around. She would bring her friend Meredith from her office to sit with her and it seemed to be working out good for her friend too as Jeff and a couple other guys started to take interest in her after the 4th time Alley brought her to the game.

Her and Meredith always had it planned out that Meredith would drive, so that when the game was over Alley could just come home with me and sometimes we wouldn't make it out of the parking garage without a little taste of one another.

I was hard being away from Alley so much, but when we were together we made up for the lost time. We had been together for just over 4 months and I just wanted so bad for her to move in with me. I just had to find the right time to bring it up cause I knew the commute for her every day wasn't something she would like very much.

I was on my way back from a week's road trip on the West coast and I had got off the plane, still trying to get back on Eastern time, heading towards baggage.

I switched my phone off airplane mode and was immediately flooded with texts and voicemails.

I scrolled through the texts and saw several from Alley. I called her immediately, "Hey Doc, where is the fire?" I asked jokingly.

"Ry have you seen the sports news. Someone leaked it and they know who I am. They even found out what I do and there have been reporters staked outside my office all day," she says in a panic.

"Shit, I am so sorry. I will head over to the office as soon as I get my bags and car," I say walking faster to the baggage claim.

"Don't do that. That is only going to cause more hysteria over here. Fuck my patients are freaked out and frankly so am I," she says.

"I'll get a car to come get you after work and bring you to my place. Did you want me to grab some clothes and Finn from your place?" I ask.

"I don't know if you should, my neighbour just called and asked why there was a news truck in front of my place. If they see you there it's going to be bad, " she says and I hear the concern in her voice.

"Call your neighbour and ask if she can grab Finn and some things for you and I'll just get them from her place. She is a couple of doors down right?" I ask grabbing my bag off the round a bout.

"Yea, okay I will call her and see if she can do that and I will text you her address and let her know what the plan is," she says.

"And Al, I love you so much and I am so sorry this turned into such a mess," I say running my hand through my hair.

"It's okay, we knew it was coming, I just thought maybe we would have more time just being Ryan and Alley. You know?" she says.

"Doc, we are still just Ryan and Alley. Always remember that. All that is happening will die down when J-Lo and A-Rod decided to have their wedding," I say trying to make her smile.

"Thanks, I love you too and I will text you as soon as I talk to Tina," she says.

"Love you more Doc," I say hanging up the phone.

"Fuck," I say a lot louder than I probably should have being in a public place.

Jeff comes over, "Alley okay man?" he asks putting his hand on my shoulder.

"She is freaked out cause someone leaked who she was to the media and now they are all over her at her work and home. Why the hell can't they just leave it alone?" I say turning to Jeff.

"It's their job man, and I am not saying it's right, but that is what they do. What can I do to help?" he asks.

"I think we got it covered. She is going to get her neighbour to grab her dog and some things and bring them over to her house, so I can at least bring them to my place for her and then I'll get a car service to drive her back to my house," I say.

"If you want I can get Alley and bring her back to your place? It would give me an excuse to see her friend that works there," he says giving me a smile.

"Seriously, that would be great thanks so much man. I will owe you big time," I say

"No need, I have been looking for an excuse to see Meredith and this earns me some brownie points by rescuing her friend," he says wiggling his eyebrows.

"I'll text Alley and let her know. She gets off at 3:30," I say pulling out my phone.

"I will be there with bells on and one killer smile for Meredith," Jeff says grabbing his bag and mine.

I quickly text Alley and let her know about Jeff coming to get her.

"Change in plans Al, Jeff said he would swing by and get you tonight and bring you here."

"Okay, great and my neighbour is going to get Finn and my stuff. You may have to sign a couple of autographs for her kids and husband. She was a little excited when I said you were gonna come by."

"No problem. I would sign a million autographs for you. Oh and I think Jeff may have a thing for Mer. He jumped at the chance to come get you so it would be an excuse to see her"

"Did we make a love connection between those two?"

"I don't know about a love connection, but maybe we'll get two people laid."

"Anderson you are bad."

"Maybe you need to get out my ties again and teach me a lesson tonight then?"

"Don't tempt me."

"I love you Doc and see you soon. Maybe tied to the bed ;p"

I grab my bags and head over to the parking garage. Driving to Alley's neighbourhood to grab her things and Finn, I spot the vans parked in front of her place and I just shake my head. "Damn vultures," I say as I get out of the car with my ball cap pulled down.

I knock on her neighbour's door and a kid answers the door.

"Hey who are you?" he asks, he was probably around 10.

"I'm a friend of Alley's and Finn's," I say, as I see Finn round the corner and run right to me.

"Your mom got some things for me to take to Alley. She is staying with a friend till all this dies down," I say hoping the kid just gets his mom already.

"Mom, some guy is here to get Alley's stuff and Finn," he yells down the hall.

His mom comes around the corner smiling. "Well you must be the guy causing all this chaos in our neighbourhood," she says smiling.

"Yeah that would be me and I am really sorry about all this. We tried to keep her name out of the media, but they have their ways of finding out. We appreciate all the help. I would be happy to sign a couple of autographs if you would like," I say scratching the back of my neck.

"Oh that would be wonderful, my boys and husband will be so happy," she says.

"Boys come here," I hear her say.

I take off my hat and stand there waiting. The one kid who answered the door starts to freak out a little when he notices who I am.

"Mom, Ryan Anderson is in our living room do you see this?" He says running to go and grab his hockey stick.

5 autographs, 4 pictures later, I was on my way back to my place hoping that Jeff had been able to get Alley out of work without too much of a fuss.

I get home and open the door and let Finn off his leash, walking through the house. "Alley, you home?" I call out.

"Kitchen," I hear her say.

I walk in and see her sitting there scrolling through the internet on her phone. "It's every where Ry," she says handing me her phone.

I wrap her in my arms and kiss the top of her head. "I know, I had to push through a mass of reporters just to get to my car, but this will die down I promise," I say.

"My mom called me," she says looking defeated.

"and how did that go?" I ask lifting her chin so that I can see her eyes. She looks like she has been crying.

"About as well as I expected. She was mad that I didn't tell her before it all got out and then asked me if I thought it was a good idea to get involved with you because your life was so public. Apparently she thinks I am not suited to be the girlfriend of someone so sought after," she says.

"She said that to you. No offence, but I really would like to talk to your mom about her parenting skills," I say sitting down at the kitchen island.

"Apparently she thinks that Bethany has the look that would be better suited to be in the public eye and then she wanted to know if I was pregnant and that is why you stayed," she says sitting down beside me.

"I am so sorry. God I love you so much and that is why I am with you. I hope you don't listen to anything your mom says?" I ask her.

"I know. It just hurts that no matter what I will never be good enough because she bases everything on looks and appearance and because I don't fit that certain mold, what I am not worthy of some like you or your love?" she says to me.

"Stop Alley, don't do this to yourself. I love you so much. Inside and outside you are the only one I have ever loved. Don't ever doubt that," I say cupping her face in my hands and kneeling down to look at her.

She smiles a little. "Thanks Ry. I am sorry about all this self doubt, but it's hard with a mother like mine," she says.

"Come here Doc," I say letting her get up from the chair she was sitting on.

"I plan on showing you for the rest of my life just how in love I am with you. Nothing will ever change that," I say wrapping my arms around her.

I lean in and kiss her slowly, trying to wash away all that doubt I see in her eyes. Wanting so badly to show this amazing woman how much in love I am with her.

"This is not how I pictured our first night together after being away for a week," I say to her while holding her close to me.

"The night is still young," she says looking up at me with lust in her eyes.

"We don't have to do anything tonight. I am just happy to fall asleep with you in my arms," I say looking into her eyes.

She smiles at me and starts to kiss my fingers and slowly sucks on each one. "As much as that sounds good, I really need you to show me tonight how much you love me because we are both pretty horny," she says.

I lift her up into my arms and carry her up to our room. Placing her on the bed I slow take my time getting her undressed and I make love to Alley over and over again until we both can barley keep our eyes open.

I have her wrapped up in my arms and love the feeling of her being against me. As she is drifting off she turns to me and says "Oh I forgot to tell you. My dad wants you to call him. He said it was time again for another heart to heart. Whatever that means," she says yawning.

I kiss the top of her head, "First thing tomorrow I will call him hun," I say.

I fall sleep with her in my arms thinking well I guess I knew that was coming sooner or later.
