"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."
- Julie Dillon

You came to school the next day feeling like shit. Not only had you just found out you were soulmates with someone that didn't even like you and the fact that you were both LEGENDARY, but you had a dance class today.
No one likes waltzing with random ass people.
You slumped in your seat when All Might came in, knowing that you weren't going to train your quirk today and focus on something completely useless.
"I AM HERE!" He shouted, laughing with his signature laugh, and the whole class slammed their heads on their desks at the same time. This threw All Might off a little bit, but he laughed again and said, "You guys will have fun! Even though this has nothing to do with your quirk, this is also essential in life!"
You highly disagreed with that statement.
"Now, let's go outside to the field and we can practice there!"
Once you all got out to the field, Y'all Might began to talk once again, "Now, the way I'm going to partner you up is this: If you have already met your soulmate, partner up with them. Otherwise, go find someone and hope for the best."
You sighed in despair, not wanting to dance with Todoroki. He already hated you enough as it was.
Vege-Might noticed your reluctance, and he walked over to you. "Young (L/N)," you looked up at him. "I know how overwhelmed you must feel. But you will have to face him eventually. And we will help you get through this. Do not think we will force you two to do this on your own."

His words kind of made you feel better, but you still didn't want to go. However, he had put up with enough of your shit already, so you just nodded your head and smiled up at him before turning around to find Todoroki.
However, you bumped into someone's chest. Letting out a small 'oof', you patted their chest before saying, "Sorry, dude."
You went to walk away, but you were pulled back by the wrist. You turned to look at them and saw Todoroki. "Oh! Hey."
"You're my partner." He said monotonously, and you nodded your head. "Yep, I sure am."
Everyone was getting into a giant circle with their partners in front of them, just like Cholesterol-Might instructed. You and Todoroki joined the group and everyone stood there in silence, waiting for their next instructions. The teacher said, "Now ladies, one hand on your partner's shoulder, and gentlemen, one hand on your partner's waist. Grab each other's free hand."
You had never wanted to run away from something so much in your life. You felt your cheeks heat up as you did as you were told, Todoroki doing the same. Once everyone was set, All Might taught the steps. Despite it taking twenty minutes because everyone was StUpId, you all got the hang of it.
All Might seemed way too excited for this, and he giddily played the music. While everyone was dancing, All Might came over to you and Todoroki. "Get closer, you two! You look like mannequins."
He gently pushed you two closer to one another, completely destroying the thirty-centimetre rule before walking away while humming gleefully.
The fuck kind of sadist is he?
You and Todoroki were now about ten centimetres apart, and your face heated up in embarrassment of the close proximity. You looked up at Todoroki for a second and saw that even his cheeks were red.

"I'm sorry you're forced to do this. This will be over soon." You reassured him before looking back down at your feet to make sure you didn't step on him.
"I'm not having any problems with our current situation," he spoke lowly, and you almost shivered at how his warm breath hit your face and neck. "We need to talk, anyway."
"About what?" You questioned, already knowing the answer.
"About your little walkout yesterday. I want you to know that I don't have any problem with you being my soulmate. And I know that we are based on a legend, or according to the teachers at least, but as your soulmate, it's my job to look after you, and vice versa. So let me know when you need comforting. I will be there as your soulmate."
You almost melted at that, but then you realised he was applying for a job. It didn't sound like he was doing it out of the pure reason that he actually likes you and wants to help— it sounded like he was only doing it because it was his job to; like it was a requirement.
You nodded your head and looked back down at your feet before saying in a small voice, "Yeah."
'He couldn't give two shits about me.'
