《Moonlight ✔︎》Chapter 22

The rest of the day went by fast.
Everyone had been talking about the final's for our football team, they were playing against a team from another town that was just before ours.
Throughout the rest of the day, I hadn't missed the unfortunate stares from people.
I absolutely hate attention so I don't necessarily think hitting a popular football player was the best option, though I don't regret it.
I also hadn't seen Angel for the rest of the day.
After the small discussion at the lockers the bell had rung, so we all went our separate ways.
I can't help the hopeless feeling of missing him, he's become a big deal in my life now, even though we haven't known each other for long, he was slowly becoming an addiction.
A drug that I craved.
Tyson picked me up from school and had dropped me home, he said he had 'business' to deal with out of town so he would be back mid-morning tomorrow.
Ian and Miya were picking me up for the football game tonight.
I got ready for the game, I wore short shorts and matched them with a merely oversized team jersey, that was engulfing my whole body.
I put on my white converse and then took my purse, placing my phone and other necessities inside.
Just as I made my way downstairs a knock was heard from my door.
I opened it up and was met with Miya and Ian.
"Hey, guys." I greet.
"Hey, D. You ready?" Miya asks.
I nod my head and close the door behind me as we make our way to the car.
The ride to our school was short, we carpooled to Chase Atlantic, singing our absolute lungs out.
We walked inside the school, teens scattered around, some from our school and some from the opposite team's school.

Ian had left so he could get ready for his game, which left Miya and me by ourselves.
"It's packed with people already and the game doesn't even start for another 30 minutes," Miya points out.
I laugh and walk over to an empty row of seats.
"I'll be back, I need to pee." I tell Miya.
She gives me a thumbs up and sits down in her seat.
I walk away and walk towards the bathrooms.
I hum to myself as I walk into the ladies restroom, pushing the door open two cheerleaders were standing in front of a mirror getting ready.
I'm assuming they're from the opposite team since their outfits were different colours to our teams.
I go into a stall and do my business.
"Did you see who was here?" One girl says.
"No, who?" The other one says completely bored.
"Angel Romano and his friends."
My head snaps up and I felt my heartbeat beat a little faster.
"No way, I was hoping to get a glimpse of them tonight, though I didn't think they would even come to the game." The girl says.
I flush the toilet and walk out, pretending to mind my own business.
"Yeah me too, honestly."
"Do you think if I talk to him he'll wanna hook up tonight?" The red-haired girl asks her friend.
The other girl laughs as she applies more mascara to her eyes.
"You wish. He's never dated anyone and he's a fùck and dump type, so are his friends. Though, I don't think he's hooked up in a while, so good luck with that."
"Please, I'll make it happen. No one can say no to this." The girl laughs as she drags a hand down her body.
I finish washing my hands and go over to the paper towels.

The other girl rolls her eyes and hums in response, clearly not interested.
I purse my lips as their conversation settled into my mind.
As I wipe my hands it seems they then only had noticed me.
The redhead eyes my body thoroughly and then rolls her eyes as she applies lip gloss to her lips.
"What are you looking at?" The friend asks in a not so nice tone.
I frown and look down at the hands that I'm wiping.
"Can't a girl go to the toilet?" I mumble as I threw my paper in the bin.
The girl scoffs and turns away from me.
"Bitches." I mutter as I open the bathroom door.
As I walked out of the bathroom my body had crashed into a hard surface.
I stumbled back and looked up, only to see the cold stoned face of Angel.
I look at him wide-eyed.
He looks back at me blankly, his eyes scanning my body for a quick second before going back to my eyes.
"Hi," I whisper.
"Moonlight." He greets back with his awfully deep voice.
I smiled widely and without thinking, I threw my arms around him.
His body had tensed at my immediate touch, though he then relaxed as if he had just realised who was actually hugging him.
His arms came around my waist, butterflies formed in my stomach as I felt his muscular arms around my body pulling me tightly to his chest.
I smiled against him and closed my eyes.
"I told you, you would have to get used to it." I mumble in his chest.
He doesn't reply he silently rests his head in my neck, inhaling deeply.
I stay in his arms for a while, the thought of letting go of his embrace made me feel cold.
The bathroom door opens and the giggling cheerleaders stop their laughter as their eyes catch us.
Angel hadn't seemed to care as he kept his head in my neck, I smiled at the girls and waved as I played with Angel's hair in my other hand.
Their gaze widens as they realise who was currently in my arms.
Angel pecked my neck as he pulled away and stood up, his full height towering over me.
His eyes snapped to the girls, only just realising they were present.
As quick as his gaze went to them, they went back to me obviously not caring that they were there.
"Come on." He says and takes my hand, pulling me away.
The girl's mouths open slightly and I giggle at their faces.
Suck on that.
Angel raises an eyebrow at me silently asking why I was laughing.
I shrug and look into his eyes as a blush crept onto my cheeks.
He stares at me for a little longer, his eyes lingering on my eyes.
He looks away as we make it to the seats.
"Seats?" Angel asks.
I point up to where Miya sat and he nods.
"Guess I'll see you later."
I frown slightly, though nod in response.
"Bye, Angel."
He tucks his bottom lip between his teeth and nods his head at me as he takes off.
I watch as he walks away, his head was held high, power radiating off of him.
His back muscles flexed under his hoodie, his silver chain glistened from the back of his neck, hands were tucked into his sweatpants pockets as
I bit my lips as my eyes trailed over him.
I snapped out of my daze and walked back over towards Miya.
