scarlet's pov:

a familiar shout that's all i heard before everything around me turned to chaos , i heard a weird sound just like a gunfire , i waited for the pain that i expected to come when ben called my name but nothing happened , i stood there parallelized as kristian called my name but the fear had made me unable to respond , the only thing that didn't make sense was the fact that there was no pain , i was fine but the sound of the gunfire had happened and everyone around me was screaming

"scarlet ? baby , answer me ?" Kristian's frantic voice snapped me out of my daze , i looked at his eyes and saw him looking at me with worry as he examined every part of my body

"I . . . i am fine , why. . .what happened ? " i asked him with a whisper as i looked around , my eyes scanned Noah and my grandma that were looking behind me with horror , I took a deep breath as i turned around , my heart was thumping fast , and my breathing was shallow as i saw mateo , Adam and donna surrounding a body that was laying right behind me, i turned around and took a step closer knowing very well who that person that was laying on the floor , knowing that the same scream that had protected me from the gunshot was now laying on the floor in a pool of his blood

"Ben . . ." i stuttered as fear crept into my heart , my hands were trembling as i walked closer , tears were already falling down in two streams , my mind was a mess

" . . . " i screamed as i knelt beside the lifeless body on the floor , i held his head in my hands as i cried , i saw mateo run closer as he shouted for Adam to call the ambulance , he knelt at the other side and started preforming medical help on the lifeless body

"mateo . . . ben , please save him " I begged with tears as two familiar hands tried to pull me back

"!! let me go " I screamed at kristian as i trashed in his arms while he pulled me away

"calm down love !please , let mateo help him " kristian whispered as he hugged me from behind and left me to cry in his embrace , it took the ambulance 5 minutes to arrive and by the time they arrived , mateo was already covered in blood as he did his best to keep ben from slipping away , i stared at the ambulance van that took ben and mateo away with lifeless eyes , i stood in my place staring , i felt like my soul left my body , no matter how hard i wanted to move i couldn't , kristian pulled me with him into the car as bodyguards surrounded us , i took a seat inside the warm car and felt a hand fasten my seat belt

"scarlet , principessa? can you hear me ?" kristian whispered by my ear as he caressed my messy hair

"hum. . . " i hummed in reply as i looked into his eyes

"everything well be alright okay , i promise !"

kristian pov:

a lifeless pair of eyes stared at me as i talked with scarlet , her calm was scaring the shit out of me , I prefer for her to scream and cry

"Scarlet , principessa? can you hear me ?" i begged her to answer the driver drove us towards the hospital

"uhm " a small hum that was all she said

"Everything well be alright okay , i promise !" i knew that i shouldn't promise her that , i knew that deep inside , but my heart was breaking as i looked at her pale , lifeless face , that had lost all smiles and all sings of life , i saw her nod her head at me as she tears escaped form her eyes , i hugged her body close to mine , and prayed , prayed for a miracle , prayed for a chance , prayed that the man who saved my love wouldn't lose his life . . .

after 5 minutes we finally reached the hospital , leaving the hurriedly as we ran behind the stretcher that ben was laying on , three doctors and four nurses were already waiting for us in front of the OR , we stopped behind the closed doors that separated us from ben and mateo , i held scarlet into my hands as she leaned on me , jack was helping donna set down on a chair as she wiped her tears

"scarlet , sit down and drink some water " after an hour of standing in front of the operating room i couldn't handle it anymore and forced scarlet to sit down , she looked at me with her dazed eyes and nodded her head making me sigh in relief , i helped her hold the cup of warm water as she barley drank from it

"drink some more love , please " she shock her head as she pushed my hand away , right as i was about to talk to her again , the doors for the operating room finally opened revealing a tired and dishevelled mateo , scarlet stood up right away as we all ran towards him

"what happened ? is. . . is ben okay ?" scarlet asked with shout as he held into Mateo's hand with desperate look into her eyes , mateo sighed as held into scarlet with a small smile

"he is gonna be okay " he said with a smile making everyone laugh in joy , i smiled as i hugged a crying scarlet

" can. . . can i see him ?" mateo shock his head with frown

"thankfully he is taller that you by a lot scar , so when he too the bullet it went between his chest and shoulder , even thought his heart wasn't hurt but still he lost a lot of blood , he needs to stay in the ICU for a couple of days so we can keep check on him ,we have to wait for him to wake up before any visitors can go in , until then no body is allowed to go in " mateo said as he looked at everyone , i felt scarlet lean on me as her hands that were in mine turned cold , i looked down at her and saw her staring at the door with tears in her eyes

"it's my fault " she whispered she chocked on her tears

"scarlet . . . " i leaned down and held her in my hands tighter , her face was pale with no colour at all , her breathing was already a mess

"it's. . . my fa. . fault he almost died " i panicked as i felt her lose her strength in my hands , i held her tighter as i tried to coax her to calm down , i didn't have her inhaler with me and her breathing was already a mess

"baby , i need you to breath slowly , come on now don't scare me like that " i said calmly as i pulled her to sit down " come on now breath , in and out love " i said slowly while everyone stared at me with worry

"my fault. . . "

"it's not , it's not your fault , nothing is , no one knew this was gonna happen "

"but. . . ben !" scarlet said as she breathed more calmly making me feel more at ease , i helped her set down and wiped her tears away with my thump as jack handed me a glass of water for her to drink

"he did it because he loves you, so don't make everyone worried like this , you have to stay strong for him my love " i said warmly as she nodded at me , i took a seat beside her and breathed out in relief as i held her hand in mine , we sat there for a couple of hours leaning on the wall , scarlet's white dress was stained red and Mateo's white shirt was full of blood , everyone looked like a mess

"kristian , you should take scarlet home to change and rest , i will take donna and Adam and mateo will stay here " jack said and i nodded my head as i wanted to stand up

"i am not going anywhere " scarlet said as she looked at me with tired eyes

"scarlet you need rest , there is no point of you staying here like this " mateo said as he stood beside me

"i am staying here " i felt my head throbbing as i looked at scarlet that wasn't moving

"scar , principessa , we will go home change our clothes and come back alright , and we need to check on Noah !" when i mentioned Noah scarlet looked at me with hesitation , finally after minute of silence she nodded her head and stood up swaying a bit as she steadied herself with my help , i smiled at her and helped her walk as we said goodbye to everyone and promising mateo to bring him clean clothes to wear , it took us a 15 minutes drive to reach our house , the whole way there both us stayed quiet as we hugged each other in relief by the time we were home scarlet was already in deep sleep , the driver stopped the car in front of the house and helped me open the door as i held scarlet in my hands and walked inside the house , i tried to keep it as quiet as possible hoping she can have the sleep that she desperately needs ,

The moment I stepped inside the house two tiny feet came running towards me right away I signalled for him to stay quiet , Noah stared at me with his big eyes as couple of tears we're welled inside he tried to reach for scarlet so I bent down a little to show him that she was OK after that Claire came and took him to stay in his room until I put Scarlett in our bed , the moment I reached our room Scarlett started to to wake up I hushed for her gently as i brushed her hair and laid her down on the bed trying to let her go back to sleep, I felt her snuggle closer in my embrace not allowing me to let her go i smiled as i sat right beside her and whispered in her ear gently

"scar , baby let's change first and then sleep , okay ?"

"uhm" she hummed as she pulled herself up with her eyes still tightly shut , i laughed at how cute she was acting

"someone has been awfully sleepy lately ??" i said with a laugh but all of a sudden i felt scarlet jolt beside me as she woke up right away with a blush

"i am just tired, i am gonna take a shower first " she said as she struggled to stand up with her big dress , i helped her up while trying my best to hold back on my laugh

"i will join you " i said with a smirk as we walked towards the bathroom

"don't mess around , i wanna go back to the hospital right away " scarlet said with a glare as i helped her take of the big dress letting slide on the floor , i saw her walking towards the shower getting the water ready as i took of my suit and god how much did i wish i can have her right her right now , but deep down i knew that this wasn't the right time so i took a deep breath as i walked in under the water and satisfy my hunger with a simple kiss and a big hug as i buried my head in the crock of her neck and breathed in her smell to remind myself that she was okay .

"thank you " I whispered in her ear

"for what ?" she said as she turned around and gently touched my cheek while drops of water full on our colliding bodies

"for being okay, i really don't know what i would have done if anything has happened to you , I will always be grateful for ben and i will make sure to end this so we can live in peace " a small smile graced her slightly pale face as she whispered

"we will be okay !" i nodded my head and kissed her gently on her lips while holding back
