《Loved》Chapter 40

"It needs some more furniture change too from the previous one. But it doesn't require interior change. " Emerson said.
Adrien hummed in response.
They were at the next hotel and touring it, Emerson was taking detailed notes.
"The final decision is discussed with the hotel board. Which hotel to give preference and which to not." He told her.
She nodded.
"Will - will I be coming to that meeting? " She asked hesitantly.
Adrien thought for a second.
"Wanna give presentation on your opinion? " He asked her.
Her eyes lit up.
"Sure." She said, excitement shining in her tone.
Adrien smiled, amused at her reaction .
"Let's have lunch then." He suggested.
She nodded and they went to the restaurant part of the hotel.
Sitting on a table near window, Adrien ordered for both of them, since he knew what is best there.
Emerson sat relaxed on her chair , her fingers tapping the table in a rhythm.
Her stance was too relaxed, but she was thinking about something.
Her one week free from her previous job would end in three days, then how is she going to handle the work load again. It wasn't a problem because she had much time to work since she slept less than normal person and her time management was perfect, but still something was itching her. But what, she didn't knew.
Their order came and it was aan English meal, but Emerson's consisted of only vegetarian dishes.
It smelt good and she dug into it.
Tasting everything like she was the judge of master chef.
"It's good, really good." She complimented.
Adrien smiled.
"The head chef is son of Queen's personal chef, meaning it's their lineage, so he is naturally gifted." He told her.
Emerson rose her eyebrows.
"Queen's chef's family. Wow. " She said in astonishment.
Adrien observed her.
Again, she was least bothered by sitting in a place where only elites of London ate in their pristine clothes and she was just in jeans, blouse and cardigan but it didn't matter to her. A customer giving her nasty look didn't bother her. It was like she turned off the emotion of embarrassment.
Her baby hairs rested on her forehead and her eyelashes fluttered. Her almond shaped eyes looking like some fairy's . Her luscious lips moving.
He heard her sigh.
"You seriously have a staring problem, don't you. The people will think you as a creep if you stare like that." She spoke.

Adrien blinked twice and looked away.
"I was just wondering how it doesn't matter to you that you sit between the elites and prestigious people in simple clothes and it doesn't matter to you." He confessed.
She mumbled something under her breath but he didn't hear it properly.
"What? " He asked her.
She shook her head.
"Clothes doesn't matter. Have you seen the royals of UAE wearing suit even in USA? " She retorted.
He looked confused, not understanding what she means.
She sighed.
"Most of the world started wearing suit to look formal and 'prestigious' but the royals of Gulf countries consider their comfort more. They don't wear suits in the hot climate even if it looks elite. Comfort comes first. Why wear suit if you have to iron it the next time you wear and have to adjust the buttons every time you seat or stand when you can wear jeans and comfortable tee with a warm hoodie over it?" She rambled.
Adrien gave her an amused smile.
"You were rambling." He stated.
An adorable blush rose on her cheeks and she averted her gaze.
"I don't like when people judge others on their clothing style or ask the question you asked. It annoys me." She stated.
Adrien blinked, embarrassed by her statement.
"I am not trying to embarrass you, it's just I don't walk around asking people why you wear suits, doesn't it bother you? Then why ask me on my choice of clothing? " She confessed.
Adrien nodded.
"I didn't mean to annoy you." He told softly. She nodded.
After eating, a waiter brought a dish but it was covered.
Emerson frowned.
"Every thing ordered was already served, then what's this? " She asked Adrien.
He smiled and gestured her to lift the cover .
She eyed him warily and lifted the cover .
It was a triple chocolate cake, with the word congrats and a small car drawn in front of it with white chocolate.
Emerson's jaw dropped.
"Woah." She muttered.
"Congrats, for your first car. " Adrien wished her with a small smile.
Emerson snapped out of her trance and smiled widely at him. Her eyes were shinning bright looking at the cake.
"Thanks" She said happily.
"Eat it ." He encouraged.
She took the knife and and cut it in two pieces . One larger than the other.
Adrien thought she won't eat much that's why she did that, but the opposite happened.

She placed the smaller portion on his plate and the larger on hers, giving him a sheepish smile.
"Sorry, but chocolate is my priority." She muttered and started eating without any care of the world.
Adrien shook his head, smiling at her cute action and started eating.
To his surprise, she ate it completely without any problem.
"Were you hungry? " He blurted.
She looked up and narrowed her eyes at him.
"My stomach could be tearing but I would easily eat anything related to chocolate and ice cream. " She stated without any shame.
She wasn't embarrassed by who she was, and she didn't hide it.
Adrien nodded.
"Just asking." He mumbled under his breath.
Don't ask if you don't like the answers.
Emerson thought.
They finished their parts and left for the next hotel.
It was the largest one, as told by Adrien and it was magnificent and beautiful literally.
When he showed her the whole hotel, she was awestruck, it was truly beautiful, looking like some Royal castle.
At the end of the tour, Emerson spoke.
"Why are you renovating this building? It's beautiful, so beautiful." She whispered the last statement.
Adrien rubbed the back of his head and laughed nervously.
"He he, sorry, but I am not renovating it, I just wanted to show you the place. Only 2 of my hotels in London are being renovated."
Emerson gave him a blank look.
Adrien averted his gaze uncomfortably.
"Then why are you here for 6 months? " She asked calmly.
Adrien shrugged.
"Change won't be bad for some time. Grandpa can handle USA for some time." He replied nonchalantly.
Emerson sighed internally and clenched her jaw. She was regretting letting him be with her. She should have stuck to keeping him away from her and now she was stuck with him.
His sudden change in attitude each second wasn't something she wanted to deal with, and she knew, at last, he will always choose someone else over her. He was only for his company with her.
"Oh, I should go then." She spoke.
"Why don't you come to see my penthouse then?" He asked her.
She shook her head.
"I have other plans." She told him.
He was a little disappointed.
"Oh.ok , bye."
"Bye." With that she left.
Adrien sighed in annoyance.
One step forward, 10 steps back was the game they were playing. Adrien was too pride to admit his faults, and Emerson wanted nothing more than to avoid heartbreaks she faced at every step of life.
They both needed to grow up, well Adrien needed to grow up, Emerson not trusting him easily was right on her side, her trust was broken too many times to be healthy.
Emerson met Lee Shan, showed him her car and went for sight seeing. She wasn't going to let her weekend tradition slip.
She enjoyed her time with Lee Shan, completely forgetting about making dinner for herself and Adrien, instead she ate an English meal with Shan.
When she returned back at 8 , that's when she remembered about her dinner thing.
Emerson felt immense guilt.
She took out her phone and called Adrien.
He picked up when she called him 2 times .
"What? " He snapped.
Emerson opened and closed her mouth like a gaping fish.
She finally mustered the courage but Adrien snapped again.
"If you don't have anything important to say I am hanging."
She gulped.
"I - "
But she didn't get a chance to complete since Adrien already hanged up.
She bit her lip in frustration. It wasn't her intention to annoy him, and it wasn't late. In NYC he used to come late and eat late. She could still make him food and take for him, but she didn't know his address . Suddenly an idea popped in her head.
She smiled and rushed inside her cabin.
~~~~~~~
Emerson took a deep breath . She was standing outside Adrien's penthouse.
She hacked in his phone, and luckily his phone location was turned on, so she could easily get access. She cooked him food and packed it, and was now standing in front of his penthouse door.
She thought the guards or front desk would stop her, but they didn't, only registered her name.
She took a deep breath and knocked on the door, waiting patiently but anxiety was flowing through her veins like blood.
She could hear some shuffling behind the door, and there stood a half naked girl, with her hair ruffled, lipstick smudged and love bites all over her neck and breasts.
