Throughout the week, Midnight pack has taken Dark Moon by storm. We have woken everyone up for the past five days at five starting off with a 10-mile run. After our run, we would go for breakfast in the dining hall and after continuing with workouts and spars. We spent the better half of the week improving the fighting skills of warriors from Dark Moon. Today was Sunday concluding the first week of our stay here. It was also the day that all the high wolves were meeting with us to increase the security to keep rogues out.

As every day, we had done our daily training with the Dark Moon warriors before the meeting. Xavier and I headed to the alpha office where we had first arrived when we came. Instead of going to the room, we had gone in that night we went to the conference room for more space. Xavier and I had been the last ones to get there seeing as Axel, Jaxon, and Maddox had already been seated. We walked to the seats while Xavier sat to my right. I sit at the other head of the table, across from Axel.

This is the first time I had seen Axel properly in over a week. Throughout the week I ignored his stares at meals. He hasn't tried to talk to me yet but I am pretty sure in the future he will try to corner me. Another thing Axel has shown me over the past week is that he is jealous of how close Xavier and I are. I have felt his angry stares drilling in my back throughout the week but I have found a way to stop him. Ignore, ignore, and ignore but I am pretty sure that just angered him more.

"Thank you gentlemen for meeting me here today. Anyway, along with training, the Midnight pack will also help secure your pack from attacks. Can I ask how much border security is out there during the day and during the night?" I asked.

Maddox replied, "There are about 20 during the day and about 27 during the night."

I stopped jotting down my notes and looked at the supposedly three leaders of the pack."Please tell me you didn't just say 20 and 27," I said.

Without even having to answer I could tell from their confused expressions that I had heard right.

"So you three are telling me that your property which is about 50 miles of land only has a handful of border security. No fucking wonder you guys are being attacked with no one on the lookout" I said in anger.

I looked at Xavier who looked close to laughing at the three male's stupidity.

Without letting them answer I continued "First thing after this meeting was to put 50 during the day and 75 during the night. Put them in all corners of the pack land and do not let anyone go alone. Make sure that every border security goes in triples or at most doubles."

They all nodded towards me and I continued to explain the rest of our plan "After adding to the border security we will also add cams and traps around the pack to ensure no one gets in and if they do we will be able to identify them. Once all traps are set make sure to tell all pack members their location for their safety but keep the cams hidden you can use them for other purposes."

"Any questions?" I asked.

When nobody said anything I said "Ok. Well, that's it for today's meeting so you can all leave."

All three men walked out of the conference room leaving Xavier and me alone. We waited a few minutes, once we heard that their footsteps have disappeared we then continued. I looked at him and him and we burst out laughing.

"Oh my god, these people are so fucking stupid. Who the hell puts that little guard at the border. No wonder they are being attacked by rogues," Xavier said.

I nodded at him in agreement, "I don't think they have the biggest of brains."

We continued joking around for a while before walking out of the room. Xavier indicated to me that he was going back to our rooms while I was going to meet him thereafter I got a snack from the dining hall. As I walked to get some food, an arm snaked around my waist and pulled me towards the back of a house hidden away from the pack. As I was about to fight I smelled vanilla and sandalwood coming from the stranger.

I turned around and asked in annoyance "What the hell do you want?"

Axel looked at me and asked in anger "What the fuck are you doing around that mutt?"

"Xavier is my best friend and even if I was sleeping with him it isn't your fucking business" I replied back in equal anger.

Axel growled loudly and said "I don't want you anywhere near him. You are MINE."

"I can't be yours, you rejected me, remember," I said.

Walking closer to him and look him in the eyes in contempt "And don't you ever fucking tell me what to do."

Without saying another word I walked away from him.Getting my snack I angrily walked away from the dining hall. How fucking dare he try to tell me who to see and not. That bastard can't have it both ways and two years ago he chose what he wanted and it wasn't me. Deep in my thoughts of anger, I didn't realize that I was going to bump into someone before it was too late. When I collected myself from the collision and looked up to the person I bumped into. I looked up and realized that I had bumped into Reed who next to him was with Ruby and Grey. It really wasn't my day today and I really didn't want to deal with this right now.

"Look can we not do this right now, I am not in the mood," I said to them.

"You think you're better than us now since you are some all-powerful beta from a warrior pack but you are still the same weak girl that got rejected by her mate," Ruby said ignoring my previous statement.

"And we are doing this. Look guys I really don't give a shit what you think of me so Ruby just go be a Lily follower somewhere else. I am fucking so just leave me alone in peace to eat my fucking hot cheetos."

After saying that I just walked away not in any mood to deal with old friends today. The rest of the day I spent in my room only coming out for dinner. Nothing eventful happened and exhausted by the day I had fallen asleep quickly.

Only sleeping for a few hours I was awakened by a big shake from the ground. It only intensified as time went on. Wide wake, both me and Xavier ran outside to see buildings collapsing from the earthquake. Many people gathered outside in case of houses falling but what we all saw next was unexpected. Trees in the forest started falling to the ground and there was black smoke coming out from them. A man curiously touched the smoke and once he did he collapsed with his eyes open and vacant. The person closest to the man screamed out in terror of what had just happened in front of his eyes. The man on ground was now surrounded by the smoke almost like it was eating the corpse. The pack all realized that the black smoke was getting closer to us and the earthquake increasing.

Xavier by me, screamed to the shocked Dark Moon members and our warriors "RUN!"

We all ran to the middle of the pack but when I turned around while running to look at the smoke. Looking around all the smoke had disappeared, returning to wherever it came from. Turning back and running to the training ground where everyone was located I joined them. Only one had died or whatever happened to him, lots of trees were also surrounding us in ruins. I looked around and most houses and buildings were intact but some had collapsed. Little kids were crying and everyone older looked frightened out of their minds.

I turned to Xavier breathless and asked, "What the hell just happened."
