"Kryos, report the state of my kingdom," Arius asked the man at the end of the table.

It was only two times a year that Arius and his advisors came together to talk about the kingdom's health, people, and more. As they were all discussing together, I focused on a female advisor who was staring at me with a glare. I looked right back at her without breaking her stare and raised an eyebrow at her. She returned a scoff and resumed her focus back on my mate.

The man Arius addressed, Kryos, was talking about the recent outbreak at Eboracucm.

"We have taken extra measures to make sure that an outbreak like that will not happen again. Adding new soldiers and more recruiters for every one dead to find their place here more easily," Kryos said.

Arius took one of his hands and rubbed his jaw a little before saying "Good, inform me if anything changes."

Arius looked at me for a second before continuing the meeting, as we all listened to the king. When I looked back at the advisors, I saw that she was looking at me again, except it wasn't only her. Others joined to glare at me, too.

Noticing, Arius asked his advisors, "Is there a problem?"

When nobody answered, Arius asked the female advisor that was staring at me from the beginning, "Zephyra?"

"I just do not understand," she said.

"And what is that you don't understand?" Arius answered.

"How you could make a weak mortal little wolf our queen. She will cause the destruction of our kingdom because the people will see that weakness has taken hold of our leaders," Zephyra replied.

Arius's beast let out a growl of anger at the snide comment against his mate. I put an arm in his hand and the feeling of me began to calm him down. I stood up from my throne and walked over to where she stood.

"Zephyra was it?" I asked.

"Yes."

"When you see weakness in me, I see humanity. Instead of questioning our power, I think our people will be more inclined to listen to us because they see one of their own as their leader. One that can understand their problems and wants better than any of you can," I said to her.

"And what makes you think that?"

"Because I was a normal wolf, I had my position as a beta in a pack and have had a normal life before all this. All of you, including Arius, have lived here your entire lives and crave for nothing. There are people out there who have died that have lived lives in poverty, abuse, and fear. Can you truly understand that?" I asked.

Zephyra looked at me, finally without contempt, and asked, "How do you suppose we help them?"

"Not everything is about order. We have to be able to provide the happiness some haven't received when they were alive. Reunite them with their families, help them find love, and have a home of their own where they will never need for anything," I answered back.

Zephyra silently asked, "You mean to give mates to people in the underworld?"

"If we are living out the rest of time dead, why not let us all live in happiness."

"Will advisors finally be able to have a family?" she asked.

Tilting my head to the side, I asked, "I would have guessed all of you already had one with the time you have all lived."

"It is an unspoken rule that we are not to have families due to the fact that we may not be focused on our duties."

I looked at Zephyra and finally understood her. She craved love and to have a family of her own to take care of. Arius was wrong about one thing, although these people wanted the kingdom to prosper and also wanted to have lives of their own and who are we to stop them.

Taking her hand, I said to her, "To hell with that, because that's a bunch of bullshit. You shouldn't have to condemn your own lives for others and, to be quite frank, I'm pretty sure you would help the kingdom more with families."

Turning to the other advisors, I continued to say, "You all deserve the happiness others get."

Letting go of Zephyra's hand, I walked back to the throne next to Arius and sat down. When I looked over at my mate, the only expression he had was pride.

Zephyra gave me a small smile before saying "Omnes ave regina Analise." (All hail queen, Analise)

With that, every single advisor in the room all bowed down to us as Arius stood up from his throne and followed their actions.

"Regina nostra," he said. (Our queen)

Getting up from my throne, I got down to the floor with Arius and put my forehead on top of his.

"My king," I whispered.

"My queen," he whispered back.

Giving me a light kiss, he stood up and offered me his hand. I took it and got up to my feet as everyone else in the room also rose at Arius's order. We finished the meeting before the two of us walked out hand in hand together. Once we reached our room, Arius immediately pulled me into his arms and laid me down on the bed.

"God, baby, you've no idea how much of a turn on it was to see you taking charge like that," Arius said.

Brushing away some of the hair that got on his face, I said, "Well, it was a complete turn-on for me to see you act all king-like."

Arius smirked before continuing to stare at me for a few more long seconds.

"What?" I asked him.

"One day I'm going to fuck you with only a tiara on your head," he said, putting his head between my neck, breathing me in.

Bringing my legs to wrap around him, I twisted his entire body around so I was straddling him.

"You like being on top, huh," Arius said, grinning.

I rolled my eyes at him before I started to kiss down his neck. Arius put his hand on my hips and made me stay still so I could feel how hard I made him.

"I want you so bad, Ari," I moaned.

When I kissed a certain spot on his neck, Arius groaned out loud and I knew that I had found his sweet spot.

"Fuck, amare," he said.

Nipping on the place that I was going to mark him, I elongated my fangs, ready to finally be one before Akoni rushed into our room.

"What the fuck, Akoni," Arius grumbled.

Getting off Arius I looked over to Akoni to see his panicked face.

"What's wrong?" I asked, concerned.

"The two of you need to come downstairs right now," he replied.

The three of us rushed to the entrance to the castle to see what the commotion was. Once we reached there, I saw Allegra on the floor, sobbing. Akoni rushed over to his mate and immediately started to comfort her.

When I looked at the door of the castle, I saw a tall figure standing there. Taking a glace at the figure's face, I let out a gasp of shock.

"Adonis."
