《His Light, Her Darkness》Chapter 40: The Past Resurfaces

It's been almost two weeks since the dinner where Matteo freaked out, leaving us with no further clues as to Mia's where abouts. And worse of all, Harry's left me, to complete some mission that Roman set for him.
Of course I don't believe that. Roman wouldn't prioritise anything over searching for his daughter, but I wasn't about to question Harry. He didn't even tell me in person that he was leaving, he just left some random wacky text, leaving me with a bunch of questions.
So now I'm still searching for Mia, left with nothing to show for it. Everyday Roman contacts me, asking me if there are any leads, and I have to tell him I'm close. But close to what? I'm not close, I'm very far. Soon he's going to realise I have no idea what I'm doing, and then I'm definitely dead.
So now I'm sitting on the very couch that I had last seen Mia, eating a tub of ice cream and watching the news, hoping something will come up about Mia.
My phone buzzes, and I look down to see I've received a message from Harry. This'll be good.
Let me in.
What the-
A nock on my front door makes me jump, and drop my spoon onto the carpeted floor. I sigh, rolling my eyes and getting up, heading towards the front door. Why does Harry have to be so strange... And hot.
I open the door to a drenched Harry, and It is only then that I realise it has been raining heavily, and I hadn't even noticed. "Hey?" I say, though it comes out more like a question.
First of all, why is he at my front door at ten o'clock at night?
"Can I come in?" He asks.
"I don't know, are you here to drench my floor?"

He huffs and pushes past me before I can stop him. "Alright then, let yourself in." I mumble.
Closing the door, I see that Harry has already headed up stairs, most likely towards my bathroom. He just loves making himself at home. I head up after him, and hear him turn the shower on. Wow, he's making himself right at home.
"What are you doing here, Harry?" I query loudly as I enter my bedroom.
I can't believe he thinks he can just act like there was nothing ever between us, and then suddenly barge into my house and use my shower. How did I fall in love with this man?
"I thought you liked seeing me?" He yells over the sound of the shower.
This bloody man. "If I liked seeing you, I don't think I would've broken up with you." I huff.
"I wouldn't say that." He sings. "I see the way you look at me." I can almost hear his terrible smirk. Who does he think he is?
"Why are you here?" I grit through my teeth, asking once more.
"Can I not just want to see you?"
"You literally disappeared on me two weeks ago, giving me no details whatsoever! So unless you've got details on where Mia is, no, you can't be here just because you want to see me, because i don't want you here." I huff.
It feels good to finally give him a piece of my mind, and it's even more satisfying when he doesn't respond.
I hear him turn the shower off and within a few seconds, he opens the door, stepping out with nothing but a towel around his waist. I immediately turn around, trying to hide the blush of embarrassment that has just overcome me. I can't let him know he still has that effect over me.

"Don't act like you've never seen me like this before." He chuckles, and I hear his dampened footsteps on the carpet approach me.
"I don't think this is appropriate considering we have a strictly professional relationship now." I state, with my lip quivering.
"We don't have to keep it that way, Rain. I know you still want me." He purrs, and I feel his warm breath against the back of my neck, sending shivers down my spine.
"No." I squeak, barely loud enough for even me to hear.
I feel his lips brush against the nape of my neck. Am I seriously letting him do this to me?
"I know you never wanted to break up with me, Rain." The way he says my name makes my knees shake. I should be pulling away, I should be yelling at him, I should question him about Mia, but instead I'm letting him do this to me.
His fingers graze against my arm, sending sparks of electricity through me. His touch is so familiar, and as much as I hate to admit it, my body yearns for him. I still love him, and as much as I tried to get with other people to forget the memory of him, I still want him.
"Your mine, you'll always be mine. My girl." He begins trailing kisses along my shoulder. I shudder in a breath. I want him against me, I want to feel all of him at once.
I turn around to face him. His face is so beautiful. Crystal blue eyes, and a sharp jaw, with prominent cheekbones. He really does look like some sort of god. He takes my head in his hands and then leans into me, pressing his lips against mine.
He's ever so gentle and it reminds me of before. Of all the memories we made together. I'll always love him, even if we are no longer together. Even if he commits some terrible deed... I'll love him forever.
I allow his tongue entrance into my mouth, and we move together so methodically. But it's not enough, I need him, I need his skin on mine. And I can tell he does too.
His hands reach down, pulling off my singlet top, exposing myself to him. He disconnects his lips, and stares at me. His eyes looking at me hungrily. "I fucking love you, Rain. Don't forget that." He mumbles and he guides me towards my bed, his lips, once again finding their way to mine.
Slowly he begins trailing kisses down, and across my collarbone, leaving love bites in his wake. "You won't ever leave me." He says, as if it's a command, and I moan as he finds my sweet spot.
"Right?" He questions. And all I can do is nod, as he works his way down, lower and lower, until he reaches my stomach, where he stops, then coming back towards my lips. I feel as if I'm on ecstasy.
I feel his towel drop away, leaving nothing in between us, besides my shorts.
His lips brush against my ear, earning a groan from me. I don't think I can take this much longer.
And then he whispers something into my ear, something which makes my body run cold.
"Soon I'll have everything, Rain. I'll be able to give you the world. Just you wait."
