Hey my sweets, as I last said my updates might be a little slow for a while so I uploaded as much as I could to make up for time lost. So, I'm gonna top it off with a short story I wrote.

We do not crave for what we have until we are loosing it. The lucky, do it on instinct from the moment they are born.

Breathe.

Without thought we enjoy the privilege of breath as if it is our God given right.

The gasp of delight.

The breathlessness after a first kiss.

The sigh of boredom.

The panting after a long run.

The shallow breathing from fear.

The choked breath from anguish.

The sweet inhale after rising to the surface of water.

The relief following after exhaling a breath held in anticipation.

All long forgotten moments, as the moments they revolve around hold much more importance. We all take breathing for granted, never paying attention to it, it's importance long forgotten.

Although forgotten, it keeps us alive to experience the moments we cling to.

To feel the fleeting breeze.

To hold our loved ones.

To feel pain and then the comfort of a confidant.

To experience the heaviness of responsibility, only to have a friend share the burden.

To witness the first breath of a life, and the last.

Breath is the foundation of life, but it is often disregarded and forgotten.

Only now that my breath fails me, breathing has taken on a new significance. I try to cling to the breath falling from my lips, only leaving my chest rising and falling in shallow movements.

I listen as my lungs betray me, no longer wishing to fight a losing game. No time to cherish the new meaning in breath as I have none to cherish. I listen to the dissonance of my breathlessness and the painfully slow beat of my heart. Yet when my symphony ends, there is no applause.

Only deafening silence.
