The trip from Texas to North Carolina seemed to take forever but the trip back went too fast. We stopped over night at a motel and with splitting the driving, me and Jacob in his truck and Chris and Aunt AJ in a truck, we made it in two days. I told my parents I was coming home for the weekend, but I didn't tell them I was bringing my boyfriend or that I'm coming to collect my stuff and permanently move away, I felt I should tell them face to face, show them the pictures I took of my bakery, and pray they are happy for my success, not pissed and thinking I'm running off with Jacob.

As I pull into my street I can feel my nerves building, I feel nauseous I'm so scared of how this will go. I park up out front of my house, well I guess it's my parents house, and turn off the engine

"Just relax, it's going to be ok." Jacob says as he places his hand on my knee

"Do I introduce you as Needles?" I ask

"I don't think 'Hey this is my boyfriend Needles' will go down too well, Jacob is fine. Come on it'll be ok." He smiles reassuringly

"What if they refuse to let me come back with you? What if my dad is rude to you? Maybe we should do this another time." I ramble

"Take a deep breath. First, you're an adult they can't stop you, second whatever your dad says or does I can take it, you're worth it. And if we don't tell them now you'll just spend your time worrying about telling them or them finding out, so come on, you can do this. I'm right here and so is Addy." I nod and slowly climb out of the truck,

"Addy?" I look up and see my grandma coming out of the front door

"Molly didn't tell us you were coming too." She moves as fast as she can across the front lawn

"Well I figure we may as well make this a party. Get over here Momma." Aunt AJ smiles as she meets my grandma and they hug.

"You get over here." Grandma says as she releases Aunt AJ and turns to me, she pulls me into a hug and I wrap my arms around her

"I missed you grandma." I smile against her shoulder

"And who is this?" She says looking to Jacob

"This is my boyfriend, Jacob." I say quietly

"He treatin' her good?" Grandma asks turning to Aunt AJ

"The best Momma." Aunt AJ nods

"You gonna take good care of my granddaughter boy?" She asks looking up at him

"For as long as she'll have me." He nods

"You happy?" She asks turning to me

"Very." I smile

"Good enough for me. Boy it ain't even July and we get fireworks, I got your back honey." She winks at me before turning back towards the house. This is it, either we walk in there, I introduce Jacob and they are pleasant, or it'll be an all out war.

Aunt AJ and Chris walk in first and I follow with Jacob behind me

"AJ five, good to see you again." My dad says as he salutes

"AJ one." Aunt AJ salutes back, my dad shakes hands with Chris before turning to me

"Welcome home Molly." He says as he pulls me in for an awkward hug

"And who's this?" My dad says looking behind me

"Umm.. Dad, this is my boyfriend, Jacob." I say nervously

"Pleasure to finally meet you sir." Jacob says holding his hand out

"How old are you? You sure as shit don't look eighteen." My dad says

"Here we go." Aunt AJ says rolling her eyes

"No sir, I'm thirty four." Jacob replies calmly

"Aren't you a little old to be running around with my daughter?"

"Honestly sir, that was my first thought when I learnt of your daughters age."

"God damnit Molly, haven't you embarrassed this family enough?" My dad snaps

"What's going on?" My Mom appears from the kitchen

"Molly brought her thirty four year old boyfriend home for dinner." My dad says sarcastically

"Oh Molly, you were supposed to be thinking about your future, not boys, well men." My Mom sighs

"With all due respect if you hear Molly out I'm sure you'll be proud of her, I know I am." Jacob says and I turn to him smiling as he winks at me

"Stay out of this, this is a family matter." My dad yells

"Hey now don't be rude to our guest." My grandma says

"Oh I'm sorry, am I supposed to just invite him in for dinner, let him sleep in my eighteen year old daughters bedroom?" My dad says sarcastically

"Wouldn't dream of it sir, I made reservations at a hotel." Jacob replies

"Oh nonsense, Addy and Chris are staying with me, there's plenty of room, you come stay at my house." My grandma says

"Thank you Mrs Johnson." Jacob nods

"You know Molly, I expected more from you, it's not enough you sleep with half of Texas you're sleeping with half of North Carolina too." My dad sighs, I knew he would be disappointed in me. He never let me explain what happened with Kyle, but you know what, he's gonna listen to me now. Jacob goes to say something but I cut him off

"You know what dad, you slut shame me for being forced to please Kyle and you wouldn't listen when I told you I didn't know about the video and that I never touched his friends. When I left for North Carolina I was still a virgin, I can't help that I fell in love with Jacob. But instead of you thanking him for all he's done for me you're just rude. Jacob read college brochures with me, we talked many times about ideas for my future and he helped me decide to open my own bakery." I yell as I pull my cell from my pocket

"Here, I'm not living with you anymore, I'm staying in North Carolina and my bakery will be ready to open in the next few weeks. I even learned how to do plumbing for it so stop being disappointed in me." I show him a picture of the front of the store with the sign Jacob made before turning my cell to my mom.

"You know what dad, I'm done letting you put me down, I'm proud of myself, I just wish you were too. I'll stay at Grandmas too and I'll collect my stuff tomorrow before I go home." I finish before turning and walking out the door. I did it, eighteen years of feeling left out and not good enough and I finally stood up to him.
