"Hey kitten, if this is a booty call then you might need to give me a minute to wakeup." He said with a yawn.
"Were you sleeping?" I asked shakily.
"Yeah that's what most people are doing at 2 in the morning." He said chuckling a little bit.
"I'm sorry." I said and more tears came. I sniffed and tried to hold in a sob.
"Hey, are you alright? Where are you?" he asked and I could hear shifting around through the phone.
"A-at a club. Julia- and my mom- and there was this guy and-" I bubbled out crying harder.
"What club? I'm coming to get you." He said and I heard him shifting stuff around.
"Blue Hawk." I managed to say and I heard car keys jingle.
"Okay, I'm going to the car now. I'll be there in five minutes. Don't hang up, alright?" he said and I nodded to myself.
"Okay." I said with the tears slowly stopping. I sniffed and shivered from the cold, my fingers growing numb.
"Zack?" I asked sliding down the wall so I wouldn't fall.
"Yes kitten?" he said and I heard his car through them phone.
"I'm sorry I woke you up, I didn't know what time it was and the guy wouldn't let go and-" I blubbered out, my eyes filling with tears again.
"Its alright Zoe, its not a problem. Although I must admit, I was a little disappointed to find out it wasn't a booty call." He said making me laugh through my tears.
"Alright, I'm almost there. Where are you?" he asked and I peeled my high heals off. Julia had forced me to wear them.
"Side door." I said right as the door next to me slammed open. The guy from earlier stepped out and looked around before his eyes landed on me. I started to panic as he walked over to me and I struggled to stand up.
"Zack ho-" I started to ask him how far away he was but the phone was ripped from my hand. I stepped back as the guy hung up and threw my phone on the ground before grabbing my arm and slamming his lips against mine. I struggled against him and managed to rip my head away from his.
"Don't be a fucking tease." He said before attaching his lips to my neck again. I tried to push him away as fresh tears rolled down my cheeks.
I tried to shove him back as he pushed my up against the wall.
"Get off!" I yelled struggling against him but he was too strong. I cried harder as his nails bit into my arm.
His body was quickly ripped away from mine and I fell to the ground, bracing my fall with my hands.
I looked up to see the guy being held to the wall by his collar. A second later a fist was thrown at his face. He fell to the ground and I whimpered, trying to scoot further into the wall. I recognized the back of Zack's head as he punched the guy again. I calmed slightly knowing Zack was there but continued to stare wide eyed at him as he punched the guy over and over again before kneeling down and saying something to him that I couldn't hear.
Zack turned and quickly made his way to me and the guy scrambled up and made his way out down the street in a hurry.

"Hey, are you okay?" Zack asked gently grabbing my face and wiping away my tears.
Pathetic.
My fathers words flashed through my head as I brought my hands up and tried to wipe my cheeks.
"I'm fine." I said and he grabbed my wrists, stopping them from moving. He looked into my eyes and without saying anything, wrapped me in a hug. I wrapped my arms around his torso and breathed in his scent as he rubbed my back.
"Jesus, you're freezing." He said as his hand touched my arm.
"I'm sorry." I said and he pulled away and pulled off his jacket.
"Stop apologizing, you have nothing to apologize for." He said and I stayed silent as he wrapped the warm material around me.
"Come on, lets get you warm." He said tugging my hands up. I stood up and swayed into him slightly. I bent down again to grab my heals and almost fell but he grabbed my arm. I scooped up the shoes and we made our way over to grab my phone then started walking back to where I assumed his car was.
He opened his car door for me and I slid in. He made sure my arms and legs were completely in before shutting the door and getting in from the other side. Instead of turning on the car, he turned and looked at me for a second. I smiled at him a little.
"You're really disappointed it wasn't a booty call huh?" I said laughing at the end, almost forgetting about everything that had happened now that I was with Zack.
He shook his head with a small grin before turning and starting the car. He pulled off and started driving.
"Hey, you said you were going to be here in like 5 minutes and it took you barely two." My words escaped my mouth slightly slurred as I looked over to him. He glanced over and smiled slightly.
"It would have been 5 minutes if I went the speed limit." He said and I shook my head at him.
"Always gotta break the rules, don't you." I said laughing and rolling my head to the side to glance out the window.
"Why were you out with Julia anyways? And why aren't you still with her?" he asked and I frowned a little.
"She called and apologized I guess. She said she was having a bad day and I think she went to the back with a guy." I said as Zack pulled up to his house. We could see a light on in the kitchen so I was guessing somebody was still up. Zack got out of the car and came over to my side to help me out before we made our way to the door. Zack kept his hand around my waist as he unlocked the door and pulled me inside.
Warm air instantly engulfed me and started to warm me up as we made our way into the kitchen area. I still had my phone in my hand so I set it down on the counter as we walked in.
"Is she drunk?" A voice asked making me turn to the side to see Eric standing there in a pair of sweatpants and a white tank top.
"Hey Eric!" I said slightly too loud making Zack shush me.
"Sorry, hey Eric." I whispered and he raised his eyebrows at me amused.
"Why are you drunk Zoe?" Eric asked and I looked at him like he was stupid.

"Because I drank alcohol, duh." I said giggling as Zack pulled me over and sat me down on a chair.
"Yes, but why did you drink?" he asked still amused.
"Because my mother is marrying her boyfriend in Africa-" I paused to hiccup then continued "and I'm fat and have to attend the wedding or else she's cutting off my funds and Johnathan is an asshole and I need to start dieting and..." I trailed off getting distracted.
"Why do you think you're fat Zo? Any what do you mean cutting off your funds?" Zack asked and I reached over and grabbed my phone. I lifted it up and laughed.
"Because she says it all the time silly." I said giggling.
"Let me see." He said stepping forward curiously.
"You're going to get mad Zacky." I said smiling as Eric just watched silently.
"Not at you, can I see though?" I asked and I sighed passing him my phone.
He turned it on and navigated to my texts before stopping and scrolling through some. I watched his face darken.
"They're real fun right?" I asked laughing a little.
"Zoe, you said this is your mom?" he asked sounding mad.
"Yep, I don't see her often though. She's always in Africa or some other place." I said sliding off the chair and going to grab the phone back. Zack held on to it and looked over to me half glaring. I stepped back instantly and stared at him wide eyed.
"Can I please have it back?" I asked hugging my arms around myself.
"Why didn't you tell me Zoe?" he asked sounding mad making me shrink back into myself.
"Because I don't tell people about my parents." I said stepping back as he stepped forward.
"Why? People can help you!" he said clenching his jaw.
"Y-you said you wouldn't get mad at me." I said with tears clouding my eyes again.
"Zoe-" he started to say still sounding annoyed but Eric cut in.
"Zack, enough." He said and I looked up to them through my eyelashes. Zack looked to me and his face softened.
"Sorry, why don't we get you to bed Zo." He said setting my phone down on the counter.
I nodded and looked over to Eric who gave me a slight nod.
"I'll get the lights when I go up. Goodnight guys." He said and I gave him a small smile.
"Goodnight Eric." I said softly as Zack stepped forward and lightly guided my arm away.
"Thanks." Zack said to Eric and he nodded before we rounded the corner and started to make our way up the stairs.
Zack seemed to go slow to make sure I didn't fall and we finally made it to the top. Zack pushed the door open to his room and I followed him in. I heard him shut the door as I glanced around the mostly tidy area.
"Sorry Zoe, I wasn't mad at you." He said and I gave him a small smile saying it was okay.
"It's okay Zacky." I said taking note of his messed up bed and feeling bad that I woke him up again.
"Sorry I woke you up." I said and he smiled at me.
"I woke you up when I was drunk, remember? Now we're even." He said and I laughed a little.
"Come on, let's get your makeup off." He said guiding me into the bathroom.
"Up on the counter kitten." He said grabbing my waist and lifting me up. I scooted back on the counter and leaned back on the mirror as he grabbed a washcloth and wet it with warm water. He stepped over to me again and tugged my arm so I would lean forward. I complied and shut my eyes as he brought the wet cloth to my face and started to wipe away my makeup. After a minute, I opened my eyes and he pulled the cloth back.
"I think that's about as good as were going to get. Let me go grab you a shirt to sleep in." he said before ducking out of the room and reappearing a second later with one of his shirts.
"Come on, off the counter before you fall." He said grabbing my waist. I wiggled forward and wrapped my arms around his neck as he gently set me on the ground.
"Are you okay to change by yourself? Not gonna fall over and die or something?" he asked and I laughed nodding and grabbing the shirt from him. He smiled at me before stepping back and shutting the door. I stretched my arm back to the zipper on the dress and couldn't reach. I decided to just slide it down which was slightly more difficult than I had expected. I finally got it down and kicked it off me. I stumbled over and caught myself on the counter.
"God damn it Zoe, did you actually just fall over and die?" I heard Zack ask from the other side of the door making me laugh.
"No, I'm good." I said as I pulled the shirt on and opened the door. We smiled at each other for a second before he motioned for me to go over to the bed.
"Already trying to get me into bed? I expected better of you." I joked sliding into the soft covers.
"If I recall correctly then we've already slept in the same bed." He said and I laughed.
"Oh yeah." I said as he walked over to me and pulled the covers up over me.
"Do you want me to sleep downstairs?" he asked and I shook my head.
"You can sleep up here if you want." I said and he nodded.
He made his way over to the other side of the bed and pulled his shirt off.
"Just don't take your pants off." I said grinning at him.
"That's not fair, you're not wearing any pants." He said smiling as he slid in under the covers.
"Yeah but I'm wearing a shirt, you're only allowed to have one off." I said as he shifted getting comfortable.
"Who says?" he asked and I laughed a little.
"Simon says." I said, my eyes growing heavy.
"Hm, I don't know about that kitten. Little creepy sleeping in the same bed as a guy named Simon. I might need to send you to the couch." He joked and I turned to my side.
"Goodnight Zack." I said with a smile on my face as my eyes closed.
"Goodnight Zoe." He said softly as I drifted away into a peaceful sleep.
