《Forbidden Flower》Chapter 17

Welcome to the family, Anastasia. His words echoed in my head repeatedly making my heart pacing uncontrollably. Family he said, inviting me into such thing when he had just met me days ago. I had spent all my life trying to get the word out of my own father's mouth but nothing came out.
And, here he was welcoming me, a complete stranger who was under a mission he wasn't aware of, just because of what? I saved his daughter's life once and made his eldest son miserable.
This family wasn't as bad as my father portrayed them to be. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to get to know them better while digging into the secret my father had refused to tell me.
With a new plan emerging in my head, happiness fluttered into my stomach so powerfully that it made me shivered. I had nothing to lose, I was already attached and would get to experience the word family here with them while still on a new mission to discover our mafia's past rivalry, it was a win-win situation.
Whatever my father was hiding, I was determined to find out before they did while keeping my real identity in secret.
Would I kill them after? Depends on the information I found and how much I was attached to them by the end of these.
Again, I willingly walked into the lion cage, playing with fire as if I wouldn't be able get burnt, but knowing the consequences excited me even more.
I was a sadistic, psychotic bitch all right.
Sitting on the bed petting my new little rabbit with a shit-eating on my face when Nick walked in the room looking liked he had just had a blood bath. The metallic smell of blood mixed with his signature cologne hit my nostril as he stepped closer to the bed, giving me a full view of his body.

The black dress shirt he was wearing during dinner was stained by blood, his face held an annoyed expression while a few drops of red substance shattered across his forehead and cheeks. He looked at me and his hard expression soften as I looked right back at him.
The sight made my heart stirred and my stomach crumbled in dislike. Then, a new discovery was made, I didn't like seeing him hurt. Not even in my wildest dream that I thought about me caring about someone else rather than myself, my grandmother and even my father.
I hated the fact that someone else could hurt him and I couldn't.
Heaving out a deep breath I put our rabbit down the duvet I got on my knees and pulled him closer to the bed, to examine his state and he let me.
" Does it hurt? " I asked taking his face into my palms.
" What? When I fell from heaven? " he asked cheekily earning an unimpressed expression from me.
" You got blood on you, fuckhead. " I rolled my eyes shoving his chest away.
" Are you worried about me, amore? " he asked suddenly pulling me into his chest.
His arms rest casually around both side of my hips as he awaited my answer. I placed my hands against his chest putting some distance between us, feeling his heartbeat under the palms of my hands. We were close, so close that every time I inhaled, the metallic smell of the blood and his scent filled my nostrils.
" No. I'm just sad that I wasn't the one to do it. " I lied straight to his face.
" It's not my blood. " he said stepping back from me.
" Whose then? " I asked narrowing my eyes at his cheeky grin.
Something told me that it was Isabella's little boyfriend's blood. Did he kill him? And, how exactly, it was so quiet. I was joking around when I said I was going to bring him a gun. It was an excuse to leave because I didn't want to intrude more of their family time.

" Did you kill Griffin? Why didn't I hear gunshot? " I gasped.
" I didn't shoot him. Bella would have kicked me. So, Matteo volunteered and the boy's blood splattered on me I guess. " he shrugged before starting to unbutton his shirt.
" He didn't die by the way. Just a bullet in his leg so the boys at school know better than hitting on her. "
Unbelievable.
" I didn't hear any gunshot. " I mumbled under my breath making him chuckled as he throw his discarded shirt into the laundry basket.
" Matteo brought a silencer. " he shrugged before walking into the bathroom.
So, the flirtatious bastard decided to come back days after he disappeared to New York during the shooting. I thought as I listened to the shower turned on in the bathroom. As creepy as it sounded, listening while he showered had become part of my routine these days.
Walking back into the room with a grey sweatpants hanging way too low on his waist and a small towel drying his hair, Nicholas looked like a model himself walking straight out of the magazine. He got some good genes all right.
" You're drooling. " he smirked before plopping down next to me.
I rolled my eyes ignoring him before standing up from the bed then walked toward the door. The sly rabbit had tried to escape again and he thought I wouldn't notice. Mumbling curses at him, I brought him back to the bed.
" What should we name him? " I asked putting him between my legs.
" I don't know. What do you think? " he asked putting his big palm on the back of the little rabbit.
And then silence filled the room as we both were in deep thoughts, trying to think of a name. I was losing my mind more and more each day, not only that his family made my heart fluttered in warmth, I was utterly attracted to him and now we were owning a pet rabbit together as if owning a pet together wasn't the most intimate thing ever.
I came here to destroy the Salvatore's and ended up being apart of their family. Jesus fucking Christ.
My father would have had a bloody stroke if he heard about these.
But, then again if he had the heart attack, my life wouldn't be so complicated.
I looked into his eyes as he stared at the rabbit still in deep thought. God. Those eyes were so mesmerizing, it should be illegal to have such bewitching eyes.
" Storm. " I found myself muttered at the same time as him.
We both raised an eyebrow at one another bewildered that we had just said the same name.
" Why? " he asked.
Because it reminded me of your eyes, the grey color of a dark night, the storm dancing across your orbs every time I looked at you, the rocky seas on stormy night, the kind of storm I would chase because I knew there was a light at the end of it, and a warm wind that lured me deeper into it.
" His fur reminded me of the storm. What about you? " I half lied while my eyes bored into his.
He stayed silent as if he was trying to think of an answer before finally muttering " Same reason. "

Re-Ordaining of the Chosen
Alea cheerfully hummed as she descended the steps, brimming in upbeat while her colleague, Quarren Leos, shot her a look of skepticism. “So… were you right about him?” he asked doubtfully. She came to a stop for a moment, her humming falling silent before she shook her head, waving her medium length light-blonde hair from side to side. “I was wrong about him.” Quarren raised an eyebrow in confusion at the convoluted response.“But you seem quite happy?” he asked again. “Because I am. But I was wrong about him. He was… so much more than I ever expected.” Alea looked at the sky overhead with a smile. “That boy… no, that man, is amazing. I firmly believe he will come to stand on top of any adversary he faces. He is destined. He is Chosen.” Quarren snorted as he stepped past, shaking his head. “Okay. Each to their own beliefs but you’re sounding like a nutjob. That skinny twig? Everyone calls him a cripple, you know,” he shook his head.“Rumours are always false, Leos,” Alea answered with a disapproving shake of her head. “You wouldn’t know. He is so, so much more.” “I saw him with my own two eyes. I didn’t see anything redeeming,” Quarren rebutted. “Well…” Alea chuckled. “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen.” In the year 917 of the Imperial Calendar, the Great War had just ended between dozens of nations. All were ecstatic when the current generation of the two Archduchy's, after the war, agreed to let their children wed. The excitement was short-lived however when the Aerianne Princess proved to be a dragoness among men but the Kanarian Prince was worse than even mediocre. The Prince disappeared and the wedding was shortly forgotten as society lived on. Until one day the Young Heir of Kanaria returned to Farrien a changed man, bringing demise with him. Follow the story of the Chosen ordained by the Goddess of Time as he returns to the past to right his wrongs and set things back straight again! (Dropped) Crown of the martyr and martyr of the Crown.
An undisputed being sits upon his throne, the Crown of damnation adorning his head. One gaze enough to make gods tremble, and one wave of his hand enough to make the mightiest of demons flee. An unfathomable cataclysm will surely arrive when such a being is slain and grasps another chance to walk among the living. This is a story of a monarch more ancient than time itself defying the absolution of death in his eternal strive to accomplish his primordial goal. And the Crown gazes on ravenously, its curse awaiting its next martyr. --- Story with an overpowered mc who still thinks with his brain, not muscles. I believe I put my own twist on the reincarnation trope. The story is mostly told from third person view with mc’s perspective.
