Luca grinned as Sophia stepped out of her home. She looked stunning as usual and tonight, he finally gets to tell his family his plans. He looks to her and instantly feels his heart race. It is an odd phenomenon for him. The first time he felt it was for his mother so many years ago. Then with the arrival of his siblings. Most recently was the day he met Sophia.
Although it feels like a life time ago now. It has only been a few months but the reality was that he has known for some time was that Sophia was his future. There were so many little things that made him love her but it was just her personality that enraptured him. She is absolutely stunning but her inner light is what he loves most. Now it was just a matter of putting everything into action.
"You look breathtaking tesoro"
Her blush making his smile widen. He loved the effect a mere compliment had on her. She came forward and pecked his lips quickly before pulling back, "thank you"
He chuckled kissing her forehead before opening the door for her. She climbed and he was quick to make his way around to the driver side. His hand instantly going over to her leg. It has become accustom for her to lace her fingers through his almost instantly. His eyes looking to their hands for a second before pulling out onto the road.
"I have something I want to tell you before we get to your parents home."
He glances at her before redirecting his focus, "Is everything okay? Are you not feeling up to go-"
"No no, nothing like that." She interrupts his ramblings while her thumb rubs over his hand. "I have a match."
Luca's eyes go wide and his heart skips a beat instantly understanding what she is referring to. He makes quick work to pull over before giving her his full attention. His body twisting in the seat looking at her. She had glistening eyes as she nodded in confirmation. He laughed happily before pulling her into chest. He couldn't believe it. It was not easy for this to happen and for them to find a match within a month is nearly impossible. He pulls back cupping her face.
"Who? Wait- when did you find out?"
"I found out earlier today and Destiny."
"Destiny? As in your niece?!" He asks while she nods smiling. He smiles widely before smashing his lips to hers. The soft petals accepting him graciously and move with the same ferocity. He pulls back as the tears slip from her eyes. "Are you alright love?"
She nods her head, "yeah... I just didn't think it was possible. I'm still in a state of shock."
"It's good news tesoro." He pecks her lips again not being able to get enough. Her palm coming up to touch his cheek.
"I told Jess about me moving in with you." He freezes worried making his love release a giggle.

"Her answer was and I quote 'bout damn time'." Both laughing softly still holding onto each other. Sophia runs her fingers over his defined jaw while her other hand grips his bicep. Emerald eyes locked onto his cobalt blues. Their foreheads rested against each other while they both remain silent. Sitting in a car on the side of the road and neither caring to move. She whispers gently, "are you worried we are moving to fast?"
He lifts his forehead from hers looking deep within her green forest eyes. His hand running over her hair momentarily. "It feels to right for me to care how long I've known you. We could wait a few months or years and it won't change what I feel."
She leans forward to kiss him once more confirming she feels the same way. He keeps kissing her no longer worried about dinner. That is until her stomach begins to rumble making her a blushing mess. He pecks her once more and sits straight before putting the car back into gear and pulling out into traffic. The soft music the only sound in the car as his love continues to play with his fingers that are in her lap.
Arriving at their parents house, he parks the car and goes to her side helping her out. She places her arm around his as they walk towards the door. He doesn't bother knocking as he opens the door.
"Hello!" Luca hollers out.
"You're late"
"Sorry dad"
They follow the voice to find the dining room. Both Mr. and Mrs. Sanford are already seated along with a few empty chairs. Luca walks Sophia in and his mother stands up to greet them both. Luca watches as his mother embraces Sophia warmly before releasing her and turning to him. He hugs her back and smells the comforting aroma of home.
"Where's Cass?"
"She had went to a friend's house and won't be returning til later."
Luca nodded pulling out a chair for Sophia who gave a small thank you while taking the seat. He rounded the table to take the opposite chair.
"The food looks delicious Mrs. Sanford."
"Thank you dear, and please no formalities." His mother giving his tesoro a playful glare that makes her cheeks turn a beautiful shade of pink as she nods. "Dig in everyone."
They all begin to eat. A loud groan coming from the head of the table. "Sweetheart, this is immaculate... Just like the woman who made it."
Luca snorts looking to his mother who has an unimpressed look on her face. He turns back to his father, "what did you do now?"
"Why do you presume-"
"He broke our one rule for your father."
She says holding up one finger. His eyes glancing to find Sophia glancing back and forth between the pair with a look of confusion. He looks to his dad with a smug grin fully aware what rule his father is NOT allowed to break.

"Tell me you didn't-"
"I just wanted to taste it!"
Luca bust out laughing turning back to his love. "My father is not allowed in the kitchen."
Sophia bites her lip bringing a glass to her mouth hiding the smile that is trying to over take her face. Luca looks to his mother whose eyes are narrowed on his dad. Her arms crossed with a finger tapping her arm while she studies him. His father on the other hand resembles a grumbling child. He couldn't help but laugh again at them.
"Do you not remember what happened at Christmas in-"
"It was years ago!" He whines out. At this point, Sophia giggles trying to mask it but failing. His mother laughing at my father's childish antics as well.
"Dad, you nearly burnt the kitchen down." Luca turns to Sophia, "It was a pie and he forgot about it."
"Stupid pumpkin pie.." his father grumbles stabbing his plate. The whole table laughing at him while he sulks. Luca turns back to his mother.
"Mom, you can't blame him. Your food is sensational."
"Thank you lil' man." She winks at him before turning back to her husband. "Apologize darling."
"Wha- you've got to be kid-"
"Apologize... Dear." His mother stresses in a tone he has heard only a few times. It's her strict no bullshit tone.
His father freezes momentarily before sighing, "I'm sorry sweetheart."
"Good, now-" she claps her hands together turning to Sophia. "How has it been being Luca's secretary? I understand your sister has returned to work."
His eyes lock with hers and she smiles gently, "Yes Jessica has returned to her post and working for Luca has been... interesting."
"Interesting?" His mother raises a brow challenging him. "How so?"
"I've never worked for a CEO before so for me every day is a new learning curve."
"Oh that's right! Luca told us you used to be a photographer, right?"
Sophia nods her head and smiles, "Yeah I love it."
"I understand you actually worked for the TIMES." His father speaks up making her direct her attention to him.
"Yes sir, been working with them for a few years now."
"How do they feel about you leaving them?" Luca looks to Sophia not even considering this question.
"I just recently spoke with them and they have decided to keep me on but only on a periodical use."
"You must be mean a great deal to them for such a prestigious organization to work with you."
"They are an incredible team. I'm fortunate to get the opportunity to work with them."
They continue eating until all are full. Sophia helping his mother carry everything to the kitchen leaving Luca and his father to walk into the living room. Xavier makes himself a drink and offers to Luca who declines knowing he will be driving Sophia home.
"She seems perfect for you Luca." Luca lifts his eyes to find his dad already looking to him. "I'm happy for you son."
Luca turns around to look to the kitchen finding both woman laughing and talking while putting away the food and dishes. His lips twitching upward at the sight. He turns back to his father finding the same small smile on his lips.
"How did you know?"
"What?.. you mean about your mom?" Luca nods his head as his father takes a seat glancing over his shoulder towards where the women are. His own head turning to glance back as well. "I don't honestly know son... It was a lot of things. The way she cared for you was a big part of it but the way my heart drummed whenever she was around was clear indicator as well."
Luca nods his head in agreeance. "I asked Sophia to move in with me."
Luca lifts his gaze to find his dad with a smirk on his lips. "I'm glad. Did she say yes?"
Luca nods his head as the two women themselves walk into the living room arm in arm. Sophia takes a seat beside Luca who wraps his arm around her while his mother goes over sitting on the arm rest of the chair his dad is sitting in. He cringes as his father tugs her to sit on his lap. He fake gags earning a slap to his chest from Sophia. He winks at her in return as she shakes her head.
"Sweetheart, Luca just informed me of some news."
"Oh?" She says turning to Luca with a raised brow.
"I asked Sophia to move in with me."
His mother squeals clapping happily making everyone chuckle softly at her. "That makes me very happy! My lil' man is all grown up."
"Mom" he grumbles out as Sophia laughs leaning against him. His mother just winks playfully at him in return. "Sophia got good news today as well."
Both his parents turning their attention to her. "I have a match."
His mother places a hand to her chest sitting up for a moment before she gets up walking over to hug her. Sophia holds her equally for a moment as he watches on. It's clear that his mother is very emotional which he has always known. If she likes you, then she loves you.
"I'm so happy for you Sophia."
Luca smiles looking down to his lap hearing his mother's soft tone. After a moment she pulls back going back to sit with his father. They continue talking for some time before Luca notices it's getting late. They leave only after his mother hugs Sophia multiple more times. They get into the car and Sophia leans over the console grasping his neck in her hand pulling him forward. He grins obliging and leaning to connect their lips together.
He loved how her confidence was growing around him. She was becoming bolder and he found it hella attractive. He allowed her to set the tempo and he was just along for the ride. After a few minutes of heavy kissing did they finally pull away from each other. He pecked her swollen lips once more before starting the car.
"My home or yours tesoro?"
"Ours"
