Sophia lifted her face to the warmth of the sun as she walked up to the door of her sister's house. A permanent smile printed her lips feeling like she was the luckiest girl in the world. She couldn't believe how her life had changed and she was finally believing she would have a future to look forward to. She knocks on the door and waits not even a minute before it opens. A yelp escaping Sophia as she slaps her hands over her eyes.

"Brad, could you put on a shirt?"

The man chuckles making her pout but none the less he turns walking into the house. Sophia drops her hands after hearing his footsteps fade away. She walks into the living room looking around finding little things that have changed. Her hand gliding over the photos finding some now of Jessica, Brad, and Destiny when they went to a park or something. Her heart melting at the bright smiles on all their faces.

"We went to the beach and on the way back found a small park. Destiny loved the swings."

Sophia glances finding Brad walking to her now fully clothed as his lip tilts up gazing at the photo. She walks to him hugging him as he rubs her back. When she pulls back she finds his eyes still looking at the photos on the wall. His mind seemingly to be elsewhere.

"Where is Jess and Destiny?"

"They ran into town to get some groceries." Sophia nods her head before walking over to the couch sitting down. Brad following her and dropping beside her with warm propped on the back of the couch looking at her with a raised brow and an amused smile on his lips. "You seem to be glowing?"

Sophia rolled her eyes knowing exactly what he was implying but couldn't hide the heat creeping up her neck. Brad chuckles playfully poking her now rosy cheek. She turns her narrowed eyes onto him making him laugh that much harder. She looks like an angry kitten rather than the ferocious lion she wants to be. She slaps his arm making him simmer down slightly.

"How was the trip?"

"Amazing! We had an incredible time and the light festival was just... wow." She sighs recalling how the night sky looked.

"Did anything else happen while you wee over there?" Brad asks intrigued.

Sophia gasps turning to him grabbing his hands. Brad grins wide at her. "Oh! I got to visit a Buddha Temple!"

And just like that, Brad's grin disappeared making Sophia tilt her head at him. He clears his throat recovering. He was so confused, Jess told him that Luca had talked to her recently about proposing to Sophia. Luca obviously hasn't done it yet but that begs the question why??

"That's... exciting." Brad says but Sophia only looks to him confused. He doesn't sound excited at all.

"What's wrong?"

"Hmm, oh nothing- Sorry my thoughts left me for a second there." Brad waves his hand dismissively.

"I got your text, is that what your thinking about?" Sophia asks recalling the message.

Brad takes a deep breath exhaling slowly now recalling his thoughts from a few days ago. He nods his head before taking one of her hands into his own. She gives him a good squeeze and waits patiently for him.

"I want your opinion on something..." Sophia nods her head. "So a few nights ago we were getting ready for bed and Jess was cleaning up the kitchen so I had princess with me. She was getting sleepy and refused to fall asleep. She was laying down in her crib whimpering and flailing around."

"Has she rolled over yet?" Sophia has to asks.

"She is so close but hasn't yet." Sophia nods looking back down to her lap. "Anyways, I picked her up and she instantly went quiet..."

Brad pauses reliving the memory. Sophia watching him closely finding his eyes practically glowing as he recalls the moment. Her own heart flipping seeing the look in his eyes.

"I began rubbing her head and bouncing her and she fell asleep so fast." He chuckles, "I went to lay her down and as I did, she reached for my finger. I swear Sophia it was as if she knew I was leaving the room."

His glazed eyes looking to Sophia and her lips pulling up into a warm smile. "She probably did."

"I stood there for some time looking down at this precious little girl and thinking how absolutely lucky I was that she wanted me, that she loved me."

"Brad.." Sophia says gently while rubbing his hand as he smiles and tears finally escape down his cheeks.

"I know I am not her blood, but Sophia... She's my world."

Sophia lays her head against the couch looking at him in awe. This man that when she first met couldn't be the same man beside her today. He sighed dropping his head back looking up to the ceiling.

"What do you want my opinion on?"

"That night, I couldn't fall asleep so I texted you because I really want to ask Jess if I can legally adopt Destiny." He turns his face to her still laying against the back of the couch. "Do you think that is out of line?"

Sophia looked deep into his eyes making sure he was listening. "I don't think it's out of line but..." She hesitates not sure how to word this. "But you need to understands that there is no out."

Brad immediately shaking his head, "I don't want out-"

"Brad," she interjects making him stop his head movements. "I'm not saying you will ever leave Destiny but it's a package deal."

He looks down for a moment at his lap before his lips twitch in the corner. He understands exactly what she is saying. "Soph, I may like men and Jess... and yes I say only Jess because no other woman gets me to salute." Sophia giggles as he continues, " but at the end of the day, coming home to Jess... It feels like well.. perfect."

Sophia smiles gently nodding at him as she pats his hand. His own smile lights up his face. "You need to talk to her about it."

"I will." He says turning his gaze back to the photos.

"Hey Brad," he hums in reply. "Are you one day going to become my brother in law?"

Brad chuckles raising a brow at her. She had an innocent smile on her lips that was anything but innocent. Brad throws his arm around her shoulder pulling her into his chest. His lips coming down to kiss the crown of her head.

"Yes... One day."

The door swings open and Brad is quick to stand up going to the door to help the full hands of Jessica. The blonde has a relieved smile as Brad effortlessly takes Destiny's car seat and going to the living room. Jessica's gaze following him and screeches finding her baby sister. Sophia giggles as she practically runs at her almost knocking her over as she hugs her. Sophia holding her back just as tight.

"I'm glad your home Soph."

"Me too Jess... me too."

Jess continues holding her kissing the side of her head. Brad gets Destiny out of her car seat to turn and catch the sisters embrace. He bounces his little girl earning some coos from her. The sound catching Sophia's attention as she playfully gasps leaving her sisters arms turning to her niece with open arms. Brad hands her over gently being careful making Jessica giggle lowly. Sophia walks around the room with the lil babe while Brad walks over to Jess wrapping an arm around her waist. Sophia turns back just in time to find Brad giving her a sweet simple kiss. Her lips going down to the little princess' ear.

"Is that your mom and dad?" Her voice soft enough that neither could hear her but a coo emits from lil Destiny. Sophia chuckles bouncing her gently. "Yeah, that's them."

Sophia locks her eyes with Brad's momentarily before winking and leaving the living room with her niece. She walks back up to her old room finding Brad's things in here but it is clear this is not where he sleeps. Her chair still hanging from the ceiling as she begins to hum sitting down with her. It didn't take long for Destiny to fall asleep from her voice and the sway of the chair. She continues sitting there for some time hoping Brad is talking it out with her sister. Her eyes eventually closing on their own accord.

Jessica sighs flopping down on the couch after watching her sister walk out of the room with her baby girl. She closes her eyes and feels the couch dip beside her before she feels Brad's arm go around her making her smile. He adjusts her so her head is laying on his lap as his fingers run through her long golden locks. A soft moan of appreciation escapes her loving the way it feels. Brad's hand stopping momentarily and Jess feeling his pants tightening under her head. She keeps her eyes closed as her lips turn into a small smile. Brad's fingers eventually continuing.

"Hey Jess?" She opens up her eyes looking up at Brad who is already looking down at her. "What do you feel for me?"

Jessica looks at him with furrowed brows before gently pulling herself up adjusting her body to look directly at him. Brad moves her so she is sitting on his lap with his arms around her securely. Jessica's eyes looking deep into his own. Her hand coming up to cup his cheek.

"I love you Brad. You are my best friend and partner in crime."

He chuckles making her giggle along. The laughter dies off and Brad's voice becomes more vulnerable. "Are you okay that the man you love also likes men?"

"I love every part of you Brad, including the fact that we both can check out men." He smirks at her as she leans forward pecking his lips before continuing. "As long as you don't act on it... hell, I will grade them with you!"

Jessica grins but Brad looks to her seriously. He really couldn't believe he was blind to what was in front of him for so long. She was his best friend. Through the drunk days and through the hard days, she was always by his side keeping him together. She was his rock and his ear when needed.

He leaned forward slowly before his lips brushed hers. The electrical spark tingling his lips. He presses against hers and feels her hand move to his neck holding him tenderly. He pulls back after a moment looking deep into her eyes.

"You make me the happiest man Jessica..." his voice soft. Jessica smiles at him with her eyes glistening.

"The feeling is mutual.." He grins at her making her own face light up.

"I have a question to ask you but I want you to know that if you are not okay with it that it will not change anything.." Jessica's face morphing into worry for a moment as she nods hesitantly. Brad pecks her lips once more hoping to calm her slightly. "I would like to legally adopt Destiny."

Jessica's eyes widening as her slight parts in shock. That was certainly not what she was expecting. "What?"

"Destiny is my little girl... my princess," he says glancing at the photo before turning back to Jess. "I want to be her dad."

Jessica's eyes swelling up with tears loving this man all the more. How could her best friend become so much more and now wants to be her baby's father. "Are- Are you sure?"

He nods his head still looking intently at her. "She may not have my blood, but she owns my heart."

"Brad..." her voice melting as she turns to goo in his hands. She cups his face and kisses him tenderly. After a moment she pulls back still holding his face before nodding her head. A bright smile lights up Brad's face as if she just gave him the world. To Brad.. she did just give him the greatest gift.

He pulls her in hugging her tightly whispering soft thank yous into her ear. Jessica continues to cry tears of happiness as they cling to each other enjoying the perfect moment. After some time they pull back kissing gently showing how much they love each other.

Jessica understands Brad and doesn't judge for his sexuality. It doesn't matter as long as he remains faithful. She feels lucky in a sense since they were friends long before becoming partners, she knows who he is. She knows he is a goof ball, that he cracks jokes right and left, and he has a comeback to practically everything... He is also kind, has a huge heart, and cares deeply. She loves him... plain and simple.

Brad knows that there will be times when they don't agree but he knows that he will never be able to walk away from her. She had become his better half in the time they have known each other and some day, he can imagine marrying her and having babies to go along with Destiny. More importantly, he wants that.

Jessica eventually climbs off his lap hearing the silence in the house. She holds out her hand for Brad who stands up taking it. She begins searching around the house for her daughter and sister. The kitchen was empty, Destiny's nursery.. empty. The only other room would be her old bedroom. Jessica pushes the door gently open with Brad right behind her looking over her shoulder. They find Sophia fast asleep in the hanging chair with a sleeping Destiny in her arms. Jessica internally awing at the sight. Brad walks around her and watches as he gently picks Destiny out of Sophia's arms.

Sophia awakens feeling Destiny being lifted out of her arms. She watches as Brad carries her out of the room humming softly. At the door, her sister stands looking to her. Sophia stands stretching looking at her knowingly.

"So what did I miss?" Sophia says amused.
