Luca took another deep breath glancing at the large clock on the wall of his office. The minute hand slowly moving along practically taunting him by this point. It has been a week since they have been back and he found out three days ago that his surprise for Sophia was ready. He was excited until reality sit in and he realized he would actually have to talk to her.

His eyes try to focus on the computer screen but continuously keep glancing at the clock. Cursing under his breath, he pushes his chair back standing up and walks over to the large window looking out trying to wrap his mind around how she was going to react to the surprise. He was man enough to admit that he was nervous. He runs his fingers through his hair trying to calm his nerves walking over to the papers on his desk.

Fuck it. He pushes the intercom button waiting for his tesoro to answer. Just do it Luca, she isn't going to be scared. He continues to recite his mother's words in his head.

Yes Luca?

"Could you come in here please?"

Be right in

He let's go of the button sitting down trying to fix his hair and jacket before the sound of the door clicks open. His nerves immediately washing away as a beautiful smile lights up her face directed at him. He could practically feel his breathing leave his lungs. She had that much power over him. The urge to claim her practically clawing it's way out of him. He gave her a smirk as she came to sit down in the chair across from him.

"Hello love"

"Hello," she raises a brow waiting for an explanation on what he needs. "What can I do?"

He clears his throat, looking down at the papers yet again before snapping his attention to her. "I need to go somewhere and need you to come along."

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize you had a meeting. Do I need to call to confirm?"

He loved the fact that she cared so much about her job. She truly has done wonders while being part of the company. Some of her algorithms actually catching mistakes before they caused damaged. Jessica's job had become practically a walk in the park just needing to oversea the people of her department. Marketing had now been put on a strict budget and Sophia made a system that showed the new head of Marketing in what areas advertising was trending along with for their company, what had prompted the best results.

"No call is needed for this meeting."

Sophia nods standing up making Luca mirror her actions. He grabs the paperwork and pats his jacket as she walks out of his office. His eyes following her like a hawk. Taking another deep breath he rounds his desk walking out of the office making sure to lock it up. He turns to find Sophia with her purse giving him a warm smile. He walks over wrapping his arm around her waist guiding her to the elevator. Her body on instinct curling to his side as they wait for the elevator to arrive. Sophia rest her head onto his shoulder before the door opens. They step into the elevator as Luca presses it down.

"So who are we meeting?"

"A possible new opportunity."

"Hmm... You haven't given me time to do research on them."

Luca doesn't say anything in return but just pecks the side of her head. They walk out with Luca's arm still coiled around her. The staff giving them nods of acknowledgement. Sam waves at Sophia earning a brilliant smile and a wave in return. He has always been sweet towards her. Sam was just happy that his boss seemed to finally find someone for himself. He admired the pair thinking they were a good match.

They leave the building and Sophia climbs into the back of the car recognizing the familiar driver. Luca follows her in shutting the door before reaching over to roll up the partition. He remembers looking up the drive and it said it was only a 20 minute drive which means he had twenty minutes to calm his racing heart.

"Luca?" His gaze turning to find Sophia with a worried look in her eyes. Her hand coming up to cup his cheek, "Are you feeling alright?"

He nods while leaning into her hand before turning to kiss her palm. "Yes just nervous..." he admits looking deep into her eyes.

"I will be with you-"

"You won't leave me?" He interrupts watching her intently.

Sophia gives him a fond smile before shaking her head, "you couldn't get rid of me even if you tried."

Remember you said that. He nods his head releasing a breath glancing at his watch. "We should be there soon."

"Are we meeting the client at their building or a restaurant."

"Their building" he says glancing out the window.

Sophia's hand going into his lap as her fingers run through his before grasping his hand. He squeezes hers back releasing some of the tension from his body. She relaxes laying her head on his shoulder once again as they remain silent. When he recognizes they are getting close his nerves once again spike but he tries to remain calm. The car turns into the long secluded drive way and Sophia sits up. Luca looks to her as she continues searching out the window for what he presumes to be an office building.

"Oh, you mean someone's home." the car comes to a stop and the driver steps out to open Sophia's door. She takes his hand giving him a small thank you while Luca climbs out his own door running his hand down the jacket once again. "This looks familiar."

"Come Sophia" he says drawing her attention back to him instead of the house. "I was given the code so we could go in."

Sophia's brows furrow in confusion but she remains silent as he opens the door walking in. She follows behind him as her eyes take in the home. It was a stunning house with high ceilings and spacious rooms. She continued following behind Luca whom was walking towards the patio door pulling it open and stepping out. Sophia's eyes widen in awe at the beautiful view the back yard had of California. She doesn't even realize it when she stops moving and just stares.

Luca walks over to the table setting the paperwork down patting his pocket before turning back around to Sophia. He finds her still bewitched by the scenery allowing him a moment to take a deep breath releasing it slowly. He clears his throat capturing her attention as she turns to him giving him an apologetic smile. He pulls out a chair for her having her sit before he pulls out the one beside her and sitting down.

"So what time are we meeting the client?"

"Now."

"Oh, are they running late?"

"Nope..." Sophia looks to him utterly confused. "Do you know that I use to be practically numb to emotions? I couldn't seem to comprehend emotions as easily as other people. It was terrible before I met my mom. She made my heart rattle for what felt like the first time."

Sophia sits there listening to him intently not sure why he is telling her this but none the less cared deeply and wanted to understand. Luca paused recalling his first time seeing his mom. Her hair wet and tickling his face while water droplets ran down her face. It wasn't those things that captured his attention but the look of concern, of fear in her eyes as she gazed down at him. Then she spoke so soft and caring to him, he instantly felt his heart pounding and not due to the oxygen depletion he had experienced.

"Over the years, I have to come to realize my numbness has returned slowly. Other than my family, I didn't care what people thought or how they felt. Honestly, I didn't care to know what I felt, I was immune to it all. My mother and siblings being the only ones that made me feel alive."

"Luca..." she says gently reaching for his hand. His eyes snapping to hers.

"It all changed about 9 months ago. I saw this woman whom with one look, I could feel my heart race like never before. The rush exceeding anything I had previously experienced. She ran making me chase her before capturing her."

Sophia smiles sweetly feeling her own heart racing. "I'm pretty sure his aunt chased her for you."

He releases a boisterous laugh turning to her with a wide smile. "Regardless, I was a goner... I couldn't stop thinking about her and when I finally had her... I couldn't get enough."

Sophia's eyes glistening by this point falling even more in love with this man. His eyes showcasing the truth in his words. Her hand unconsciously squeezing his more. He leans forward pecking her lips briefly.

"This woman has become my world, the air I breathe. I couldn't imagine my life without her and man, she scared me more than I cared to admit. Not just the emotions she provoked but also the fact that I had gotten so attached and she almost slipped through my fingers."

"Love..."

"So now I am here-" he says looking around them before reaching for the document. "to sign the biggest contract of my life."

Sophia takes the document from his hand reading it briefly before her eyes widen realizing what it is. Her eyes snapping up to him. "Luca, this is a deed to a-"

"To our home." he interjects turning to glance at the house behind him. Sophia's eyes practically falling out of her head as her gaze follows his. "I must say, you really made an excellent choice."

"Wait, I did-" she pauses before realization runs hits her like a freight train. "This is the house I picked out before we left for Thailand?! I just did that not even two weeks ago Luca."

He turns back to her with a boyish grin making her already pounding heart do flips in chest. He was crazy, that was all there was to it. He leaned forward capturing her hands that were slightly shaking. He brings them up to his lips kissing the knuckles on both hands as he continues holding them.

"I have thought about getting a house for some time now due to my family always visiting and the penthouse not really giving me the freedom I would prefer."

"Luca, this is crazy..." she says shaking her head still not believing this. Her gaze snaps back to his to see the brightness in his eyes dimmer and his boyish smile fade.

She didn't mean to hurt him. She remains silent for a moment looking at him and really seeing him. Sophia didn't have to think to know that she wanted forever to be with him. He made her feel loved and protected. She could see a future with him and glancing at the house, she just couldn't believe he did all of this for her, for them. She bit her lip as a smile began tugging at her lips.

"You know..." she says amused looking at the house. Luca's eyes going to her face however she continues looking away. "I used to be terrified of commitment! Like truly petrified and practically sprinted from anything resembling it. I mean why should I commit to anything when time for me could mean a matter of minutes, hours, days, or months..."

Luca can see the anguish in her eyes about the life she was dealt. He doesn't move as she appears to be thinking about something from her past. She bites her lower lip momentarily shaking her head as if shaking off the thought. "BUT... I got a call to come home and I did knowing my sister needed me. I figured I would stay long enough to help her through her pregnancy before I zipped on by."

Her hand making the motion of zooming forward before falling with a heavy sigh. Her eyes turning back to meet his and he can see the twinkle in them making his heart skip a beat. He was holding his breath hoping for a good outcome.

"Then I went to her work and somehow ended up meeting this big 'cold' boss." She air quotes cold and laughs making him grin. "Jesus, my first thought was Ooooh shit, I'm so screwed."

Luca throws his head back laughing for a solid minute before relaxing and looking to see her smirking. "Was he a charmer?"

"Oh he tried.." she giggles once again. "No, it was actually the lunch I invited him to that stuck out to me."

"What part?" He says loving the conversation.

"Well all of it... But it wasn't the lunch that caught my attention. It was the fact that I wanted him to be there with me." Luca smiles fondly sobering up as she continues talking. "It was the first time I had wanted the company to be there and more importantly, I wanted to do it again."

"You wanted a commitment." Luca says softly looking down but could see her nodding still looking at him.

"I wanted to picture something more than a day away and it was because of this that I knew..." She takes a deep breath reaching over to take his hands. His dazzling blue eyes locking with hers. "I knew that I wanted my future to be with him."

"Tesoro..." he leans kissing her softly. His lips lingering momentarily before pulling back.

"I am shocked that you bought us a home BUT I would never walk away from you. Yes this is big but I can handle it."

"Well... there is a few stipulations." Luca reaches for the deed flipping to the second page handing back to Sophia. She takes it leaning back in her seat holding it close to her face.

Sophia's eyes snapping open yet again before she slowly lowers the paper revealing Luca down on one knee at her feet. She could feel her heart practically leaping out of her chest. Her hand going to her mouth as her eyes glisten with tears.

"Tesoro, I do not want to go another day without you knowing that you have me... mind, body, and soul. And in return I want I you to in trust me with your heart for all the remaining days of our lives... Sophia Andrews will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

She instantly was nodding her head as she tried to say yes. Her voice stuck in her throat but Luca's grin told her he understood. He swiftly placed a ring that she did not see until now onto her hand. She thought it was pretty but that didn't matter to her. The man before her was all she ever would need. He stood up cupping her face bringing her in for a much needed kiss.

Luca could feel his muscles relax for the first time since they arrived. That was the scariest thing he had ever done but it was worth it...

She had agreed. She was his forever.
