After our paintball game that afternoon, we decided to go eat lunch at the nearest restaurant for because we were beyond starving. You could swear we all didn't have breakfast that morning or something because of all that running and being shot at the field, our energy levels were at zero...including the fact that were all were nursing mild hangovers.

“I think we're going to join you girls for those massages after this, my body's so stiff I think I'm turning into concrete or something”, Kevin stretched out his arms as we finished with our meal

“I'm also for the motion”, Tristan and Nathan chipped in while raising their hands. It's funny because they didn't take Jess and I serious when we told them we booked us massages after the game, acting like we insulted their masculinity and that they didn't need them because they're strong and can handle the pressure.

“You should learn to appreciate us more often because we have your backs”, Jess added confidently while smirking and the guys groaned in union, contemplating to admit that we were right, and they were wrong

“After that message I think I'm going to need to take a nap or something. I realized I'm not so young anymore to be out all night”, Tristan said, taking a sip of his water while the waiters cleared our table.

“You're way too young to be complaining about being out all night, you're barely past 25. You should have been using this time to enjoy your life, travel and see the world rather than getting married”, Jess said to him, and he started mimicking her childishly. There was this dramatic pause as they narrowed their eyes deadly at each other.

“O-kay, so what time are we going to the casino again?”, Kevin asked, steering away from the sibling rivalry that was yet to unleash in front of us

“Around six-ish, I think?”, Nathan turned to look at me, seeking confirmation and I nodded in agreement

“Alright then, let's go get those massages people. We don't have all day”, Jess announced after the guys settled the bill, and we all stood to our feet, on our way back to the resort.

There was a knock on my door just when I was about to go to Jess's room so that we could go to for the spa treatment together. Opening the door, Nathan was on the other side, his lips turning up in a warm smile the second he saw me.

“Did I catch you at a bad time?”, he asked when I invited him inside

“I'm meeting Jess for our massage appointments”

“Oh, in that case I could come back later”, he was about to turn to the door, but I stopped him

“No, it's fine. I'm only meeting her in about 15 minutes, so we can talk”, I said, and he nodded his head, walking past me to go sit on the bed and pat the space next to him so that I joined him and I did.

“I feel like you and I should talk, especially now after what happened last night”, he stated, brushing his hands nervously on his thighs and I looked at him, confused at what he just said

“What happened last night?”, I questioned, and he frowned, staring blankly at me before clearing his throat

“You don't remember?”, he prompted and I confusedly shook my head at him

“Last night, here in your room....”, he trailed off, hinting at me, but I continued with the confused state, now tilting my head at him, and he started to blink at me, joining in the confusion

“You really don't remember?”, he asked again, the look on his face getting funnier and funnier. It was really priceless, I couldn't help the smile that was slowly appearing on my face and he noticed.

“You're playing with me, aren't you?”

“Gotcha”, I winked at him, and he laughed before running his hand through his hair

“You really had me worried there for a second”, the sound of his laughter started fading as I turned to face him

“So what is it that you want to talk about?”, I asked, and he took a deep a sigh, also turning to face me

“The thing is, I can't exactly pinpoint the nature of our relationship at this stage because one minute you're saying one thing, the next you're just saying the opposite, and it's really frustrating not knowing where I stand with you”

“Yeah, uh”, I cleared my throat. “To be honest with you, I knew that eventually feelings would be involved and get in the way of every thing, I just didn't think it would be so soon”

“Is that why you did what you did and pushed me away?”

“The thing is, I've been waiting for you to be a horrible person and show me your true colours, but you never did. I guess that kind of freaked me out a little, so I wanted to cut what we had going on short before you did. You were not the problem here; I am. I realized that I am so used to toxic men, I immediately switched off my common sense when a good guy came along”

“So you do agree that I'm a good guy?”, he grinned, and I playfully rolled my eyes at him, causing him to laugh

“You're not so bad”, I gave him a nudge on the arm, and he paused for a second, taking my hand in his and interlocked our fingers together, his amber eyes raising to pierce through mine

“Listen, I know pouring my heart out and telling you how I felt the other day caught you off guard and everything, but I really meant what I said, I want us to be more than just friends”, he licked his lip

“The question is though, do you want to be with me?”

“Don't get me wrong, I really like you Nathan”, the gates of being open with my feelings had been unlocked, and they just poured out without me having to second guess everything. “But I'm also concerned that you might be all in this for all the wrong reasons, maybe because you're bored, lonely or something”

“Is that the only thing that's holding you back?”, he quirked up an eyebrow at me, questioning my motives. “Concerns that I may be into this for the wrong reasons?”

I nodded my head

“Liv, I didn't fall in love with you because I was bored or lonely. I fell in love with you because you make feel alive and happy. I know sometimes love is really messed up, we don't get to choose who and why we love but you coming into my life has been one of the best things that's ever happen to me”

My heart literally skipped a beat and I felt all floaty and drifty, I'm sure he wasn't even trying to be sweet or anything, it just happened naturally because he had a way with words and sweet gestures that could turn me putty in his hands

“You're like my little happy place and I want to make you happy as much as you make me”

“I desperately want to believe you Nathan, I really do-”

“You should, I have absolutely no reason to lie to you”, he tucked a few strands of my hair behind my ear before taking my face in his hands

“Now, tell me the real reason why you're holding back”

“The thought of being in a relationship scares me because I'm afraid of getting hurt again because of the commitment issues from my past relationships but at the same time I don't want to lose you”

“Olivia, I'd never hurt you. Instead, I'm going to take my time with you, learn everything I possibly can to earn your trust because I'm simply not going to give up on you that easily”, he took my hands in his, gulping down hard before opening his mouth to speak.

“I'm not planning to lose you anytime soon, neither will you so you should stop worrying because I'm not going anywhere, I promise”

“You're going to make me cry”, a half sob, half chuckle left my lips because I was so overwhelmed by his sweetness, I thought I was going to pass out or something

“I'm sorry”, he smiled a little as he stood to his feet, instantly pulling me up with him

“It's fine”, I smiled back, pursing my lips together into a straight line to stop the incoming waterworks that were threatening to burst out from my eyes

He then grabbed my face in his hands and kissed me on the forehead, both my cheeks and my chin before finally tilting his head to the side to plant his lips on mine. The kiss flickering with the warmth of his lips and I couldn't help but cave in as our lips continued moving in sync. His hands traveled down my body to wrap around my waist and I stood on my tippy-toes to wrap my arms around his neck, tangling my fingers in his hair. I was melting inside, suddenly felt that warm feeling of happiness in my chest. It's been so long since I've had it, I never wanted it to end.

The sound of someone knocking on the door interrupted on our moment

“Liv, it's time to go”, Jess called out behind the door and Nathan and I we groaned in union. I leaned backwards to break from the kiss, but he leaned forward, stopping me from my attempts by also tightening his grip around my waist, not having none of it at first until he was fully satisfied. The kiss lasted for a few more seconds before he slowly withdrew from me, resting his forehead on mine.

“Liv?”

“I'll be out in a minute”, I called out to Jess while getting lost in Nathan's eyes. They had locked me in, I couldn't look away.

“I really hate these rude interruptions”, he breathed out against my lips and I laughed softly while patting my cheeks dry from the tears that were streaming down my face, and he helped to wipe them off

“I should probably get going”

“Okay”, I nodded my head, and he put out both his hands in front of me and I intertwined our fingers together

“I'll see you later then”, he pecked me on the lips again, teasingly biting on my lower lip and I giggled while walking him to the door

“Okay”, I smiled, and he quickly stole another kiss before opening the door to walk out, catching Jessica off guard when he saw him first instead of me

“Hi Jess, bye Jess”, Nathan smiled walking past her, and she was lost for words as we both watched him walk away. Her lips turned up into a mischievous smile when she turned to look at me, raising an eyebrow.

“Is there something going on between you two?”

I couldn't help but smile as I shrugged my shoulders, tugging hair behind my ear. “Something like that”

Later on that night, we decided to pass by a bar for a quick night cap before we went back to the resort. It was karaoke night there and there were different singers getting on and off the stage. Some were good, some were terrible, and we kept making fun of them. Getting drunk and singing were never a good combination, that's one thing I'd never dare to do in public, no matter how heartbroken I was. Nathan excused himself, pushing his seat back to stand on his feet and walked away from our table. I just assumed he was going to get more drinks or something.

“What's with the love bite on your neck, Liv?” Jess asked aloud and the guys turned to looked at me, raising their eyebrows when they noticed the dark bruise on the side of my neck.

Nathan gave it to me while we sneaked off to make out in one of the casino restrooms earlier on

“It's not a love bite”, I laughed nervously. “It's my birthmark”

“No it isn't”, Tristan chipped in. “Your birthmark is on your right leg, just above your knee”

Quick question, is it okay to beat someone up for pointing out that you're lying? Because if so Tristan was surely begging to catch these fists.

“Is it?”, I acted surprised while burying my head deeper into the hoodie Nathan borrowed me when I started getting cold and pulled the strings to further cover my neck. “I must be bitten by a spider then, who knows?”

They didn't seem convinced as they took a sip of their drinks while looking at me and I looked away from their piercing stare,

“What in the hell?”, my jaw dropped as I caught a glimpse of Nathan climbing up the stage as soon as one singer got off, and he cleared his throat, tapping his finger on the mic to check whether the sound was audible enough

“What on earth is he doing?”, Kevin asked turning to look at us, and we were still shocked to even answer him. At the back of my mind I just thought he was going to simply embarrass himself in front of all these people in here.

“I think he's going to sing”, Jessica added while nudging me on the arm.

The band starting playing Fairy tale by Liquideep and Nathan started with the intro of the song, the people in the bar cheered at the beat.

“I'm really not much of a singer”, Nathan chuckled as he adjusted the mic to his height. “But there's this girl I'm completely swoon over. She's completely taken over my heart, and so I'm dedicating this song to her”

Oh, God! No

My eyes widened at the sudden realization that he was going to sing for me, instantly getting those butterflies in my stomach, then nervous from the fear that he might be making a fool out of himself in front of everyone

“Take it away Nate”, Tristan screamed at the top of his lungs, encouraging him to continue

“Yaaaayyyy Nathan”, Jess joined in the screaming, getting the crowd howling in excitement. The tempo song started getting strong by the second, it was hard not to start dancing to it by tapping my foot on the floor, plopping my head back and forth a little. Nathan started singing the lyrics and with a voice like his, it clearly resonated around the room.

We may not be romantically involved but

He looked up directly at me. “Olivia Davis, this is for you”

“Ohhhhhhh shiiiiiiit”, Tristan and Jess chorused together, looking at me with wide grins on their faces, taunting me by also wiggling their eyebrows

“Oh my God, I knew it”, Kevin screamed while standing on his feet, causing an obvious scene and Tristan quickly pulled him down to his seat again

“Sit your ass down man”, he scowled at him while laughing. Kevin wasn't done with me yet, he had this sadistic smile on his face, I was never going to hear the end of it. I rested my face in my hands, looking adoringly at Nathan on stage as he continued with the song.

“I knew something was going on between you two, I fucking knew it”, Kevin leaned to whisper in my ear and I made a stuck my tounge out at him before continuing to look at Nathan singing the rest of the song on the stage

When he was done, we all started clapping while standing to our feet, the crowd starting to go crazy, and I'm sure I was as red as a tomato right there and then

All that for me? Who am I kidding?

I'm honestly in love with this man.

“Where is the lucky lady?”, one person asked out loud from and Nathan pointed in my direction

“She's over there, the gorgeous lady in the grey hoodie”, the second he said that, I felt all eyes on me and I covered my face in embarrassment, sinking deeper into my seat

“No need for that, Liv. Embrace this moment, it's not every day a guy performs for you on stage”, Jess peeled my hands off my face and everyone was still looking at me, clapping her their hands while chanting my name for me to stand up to join Nathan on stage. Tristan stood to his feet and pulled me out of my seat, practically dragging me before both him and Kevin carried me to the stage and the crowd roared even louder than before. Nathan put out his hand and helped me up then wrapped his hands around me.

“I knew the two of you were fucking”, Kevin pointed at us mischievously while walking backwards to our table, and I laughed before burying my face in my hands again and Nathan pulled me to his chest, tilting my head to look at him

“I don't want to hide any more and hence I'm standing in front of all these witnesses, asking you to be mine”, he smiled nervously before clearing his throat

“Will you please be my girlfriend?”

He looked at me, deep into my eyes that laid the obvious answer to his question. I giggled while wrapping my arms around his neck and planted a soft kiss against his lips and the people in the bar cooed adoringly, clapping their hands and whistled at us.

“Is that a yes?”, he asked excitedly, and I was too emotional to utter some words, and so I nodded my head in agreement

“No Liv, I want to hear you say it”, he insisted, pulling the mic closer to my lips and I laughed a little

“Of course I'll be your girlfriend”, I said over the mic, smiling ear to ear

“That's what I wanted to hear”, he smiled before kissing me fully on the lips, and we embraced in a hug, with him picking me up to swirl us around before putting me down again

“I'm officially taken, ladies”, he did that sticking the tounge out laugh over the mic and there were laughs as we got off-stage and the another singer hopped on

“Did you really have to do that?”, I asked when we got to the quietest corner in the bar and I heard him chuckle, he was clearly found me being completely mortified amusing

“Absolute-to-the-freaking-lutely yes”, he grinned before kissing the back of my hand. “I want people to know”

“You really are an idiot, aren't you?”

He cracked a side smile. “For you? I'd be anything there is, just to see a smile on your face”
