I sighed, and kept the potato chips on this side table. I should stop eating so much before I get fat.

It was a female voice.

I straighted up. My fists curled and I was ready to bombard questions and mental slaps at whoever chic was answering my mate's phone.

"Hey, Katherine, right? This is Mia, Alex's sister. Please just play along." She said in a hushed tone and I calmed down. A small smile spread across my lips and I was glad that it wasn't some crazy girl asking me to 'back off'.

I should stop reading those rom coms.

"Okay," I replied and a screech was heard from the other side, along with Alex's voice, telling me that they both were fighting for the phone.

"Oh baby, wait for a second," Mia's voice drastically changed into something seductive, "Alex! Stop kissing me! I am talking on the phone!"

Mia let out an exaggerated giggle and I heard Alex in the background saying. "Mia what the fuck, give me my phone back!"

I laughed at the situation as I realized what Mia was doing. She was trying to make Alex think that I think that he's with a girl. So that he gets worried about me being angry.

Complicated, right?

Mia's gasp was heard because she dramatically squealed, "Baby again! I thought we'd done enough. I don't know if I can handle it for the 4th time. I am tired,"

Trust me, if there was any other she-wolf in my place rightnow, and she would have heard a girl say this to her from her mate's phone, she would have flipped.

She would have taken the next flight to Mexico and wringed the girl's throat before kicking her mate in the balls.

Especially if she was a Latina like me.

But I was chill. Partly because I had met Mia when I went to Mexico to visit Grandma and partly because I knew that Alex isn't like that.

I met Alex 2 weeks ago, when me, my papa and brother when to Mexico to save my grandma's pack from rogues. They weren't oridinary rogues. Those rogues were as good as normal werewolves and large in number.

It was difficult to get rid of them. It's a rumor that the last rogue attack on the pack - the one in which Oli got injured- was triggered by those rogues only. To take a revenge from my papa.

Little did they know, this pack is much bigger than grandma's.

After Mia's dramatic sentences, came colourful swear words by Alex. I could hear over the phone how he cursed at Mia in Spanish and soon they both started bickering in their mother tongue.

The line went off and I laughed heartily.

These two have to be the most fight-prone cousins on planet Earth. Broken each other's bone, thrown each other from trees- you name it, and they have done it.

But they love each other, I know that.

After a minute or so, Alex's request to FaceTime me came and I quickly checked my face and hair in the mirror before answering it.

"BABY I SWEAR IT ISN'T WHAT YOU THINK!" Alex's panicked face appeared on the screen and my eyes hungrily drank in the beautiful features of my mate.

He's so gorgeous.

But I tried not to make it look like I was gawking and I turned my expression into a chastising one.

"Are you sure? Because isn't that what they all say?" I said dramatically, trying to make my eyes look teary.

Alex's face crumpled and his expression fell as another wave of panick crossed him.

"No no no, mi amor, please don't cry. No puedo verte llorar," he said in a soft voice and I almost melted there and then.

"See! It was Mia. She's trying to mess with me," he said quickly, trying to get Mia in the screen but I could tell she was dodging him and running around in the fringes.

"MIA, COME BACK HERE," He shouted and grabbed Mia by her elbow before dragging her into the screen.

Mia tried to fight but then gave in and sighed.

"Hi Kat," she said, giving me a secret smile.

"See? It was her! I swear I didn't—"

"Calm down, Alex, I know." I told him with a goofy grin on my face.

A relieved expression spread across his face before he turned to smirk at Mia.

"She trusts me!" He told her proudly and I smiled.

"Girl," Mia said, shaking her head, "You were supposed to play along,"

"Lo siento," I apologized but Mia just winked at me before leaving.

But not before she smacked Alex on his head and screamed, "Perrito!"

We talked for hours and hours, before his mom called him and he had to go. We bid goodbye and I laid on the bed as I forgot that I wasn't in my room.

I was still in Olivia's room.

I didn't realize it though.

But that was till the door open and my favourite couple got inside, looking all horny and flustered.

I watched, amused, as they didn't even notice me when Olivia leaned down to kiss Chance.

I smirk played on my lips and I leaned on the headboard as they both kissed passionately.

This has to be interesting.
