“I remember us alone
Waiting for the light to go
Don't you feel that hunger
I've got, so many secrets to show
When I saw you on that stage
I shiver with the look you gave
Don't you hear that rhythm, can you
Show me how we can escape.”
---
"Go away!" I muttered, pulling the duvet over my head as I tried to catch some more sleep.
"
Oli! Wake up!" A voice hissed and I mumbled profanities in my sleep.
"Jusht 5 more minuteshh..." I muttered, pressing my face in the pillow, getting lost in the softness.
"Oh my god you are such a heavy sleeper," I heard someone complain before I was picked up by my waist, out of the bed.
"Noooo!" I thrashed around dramatically as the sheets and comforter were pulled away from me but my attacker pain no head.
"Hush," he said and I whined.
He placed me on my feet but my eyes remained closed as I leaned on to the nearest comfortable object.
"Are you serious, Olivia? Stop sleeping on my shoulder!"
"You, are evil." I accused as I pointed the spatula on the culprit.
He grinned sheepishly and raised his hands in surrender. "What?"
"You came in between my and my lover- sleep. How dare you?" I asked, folding my arms over my chest.
"Urm...I thought you loved me too?" Andrew said, as he seated himself on the dining table.
"I do! But me and sleep share a bond that no one can come in between."
Andrew chuckled but ignored me, changing the topic.
"So what are you making?" He asked, excitedly.
"Pancakes," I told him.
"Pancakes?" He frowned in confusion. "In dinner."
I shrugged. "They're too delicious to not eat everytime."

To say everyone in the pack house was disturbed when Andrew suddenly appeared was an understatement. Humans don't usually come here.
If they do however, they are welcome.
In early times, hunters used to be there, who were humans and harmed us werewolves. But centuries ago, they went extinct because vampires, werewolves and witches allied together against them.
Now, if humans come into pack houses, they are duly welcomed because they are considered harmless.
But the problem is that the people living inside have to become excessively careful and alert as no one can shift abruptly, growl or use werewolf terms like, "alpha" or "mate" in front of humans as it can hinder our secrecy.
We can't let the people know who we are because then they might try to kill us all, thinking we are dangerous.
Humans use nuclear weapons and guns whereas we believe in muscular strength.
Every member of the pack house gave me glares because I was the reason a human was in the house, disturbing their peace and I sighed.
Sometimes I wished I could tell Andrew. But it's not allowed. You can't disclose anything to a human until and unless it's your mate.
It isn't the first time Andrew has come here though. He's been here quite a lot of times. Since me, Ryder, Katherine and him have been friends forever
"So," Andrew began as we chewed on our pancakes.
I looked up from my plate to pay attention to him.
"What's up with you and Chance?" He asked, his eyes focused on his plate, but his eyebrows were furrowed in concentration.
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know," he replied. "It's difficult to digest that you two are together now. You never took interest in him before. You never told us you liked him. Till last week I believed you hated the 'popular clique' and now suddenly, you have started dating him and your date escapades have become famous all over the school. What happened?"

His tone increased in the end and he no longer looked calm anymore.
I think he was just concerned for me.
But his question left me stressed. How do I answer him? I can't tell him he's my mate. How do I explain him the sudden "interest" in Chance.
Maybe if I tell him that I'm just horny...
No Olivia, shut up.
"Urm," I began. "I have always liked him." I said.
Andrew raised his eyebrow at me, "Oh really? How come you never told me about it?"
"B-because I thought you'd judge me..." I tried to explain.
Andrew looked unconvinced. "Are you lying, Olivia?"
I pursed my lips. Suddenly irritated by the interrogations.
"Why are you asking so many questions, Andy? It doesn't matter. Besides, it's just one date. It hardly matters. Don't make a big deal out of it."
"No, Olivia. You don't understand. It is a big deal. I—"
He was cut off by a girly shriek as Katherine suddenly attacked him from behind.
"Andyyyyy when did you come? Why didn't you tell me? I missed you so much! Where were you yesterday in school? Where did you go? I couldn't find you. Wha—"
Katherine bombarded him with a million questions and poor Andrew looked like he's going to faint.
I chuckled as I kept the utensils back in the kitchen to wash them. I have crazy friends.
Once Andrew returned back, Katherine too went to her room and I went to mine.
"It's time we reunite!" I rejoiced as I threw myself on my bed. "Me misshed you," I mumbled, my voice muffled due to the bed.
My eyes were drooping and I was falling asleep when suddenly the doors of my room were opened and someone came inside.
I was too sleepy to get up and check who it was but then the person started speaking.
"Olivia..." It was a he. By the voice, I could tell it was a man. But I couldn't tell who it was, as I was halfway asleep.
The side of my bed dipped and I felt a presence beside me as a warm arm draped around my waist and pulled me towards itself.
The last thing I remember before falling asleep were the words of the stranger as he said.
"I need you."

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews. The first two years have been released as an ebook, receiving good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll review it and comment.
