“Send my love to your new lover
Treat her better
We've gotta let go of all of our ghosts
We both know we ain't kids no more.”
"
No." I said.
"No?" He asked, shock evident in his voice.
"No." I confirmed, shaking my head and his shoulders fell in disappointment.
"But why?" He urged.
"Because it's not right. And I can't act more desperate. I would rather live with a question, without a closure— but I can't live knowing that he thinks I want him back. I don't want him anymore. I am done."
I thought that my explanation would be enough be he probed further.
"You won't look desperate! I'll take the blame on myself, I'll show as if I asked you out." He was practically begging by that moment and I wanted to kill myself for getting in this situation.
I had brought this to myself by coming here.
Stupid Olivia. Stupid stupid Olivia.
"What do you want Reece? Do you think if we walk together, hold hands or even kiss, he will care? He won't. If anything, I'll feel more guilty. My wolf won't let me live at peace. And I can't kiss you or go beyond because somewhere in the back of my mind, I know that Chance didn't do that to me atleast. He hasn't kissed Cindy on the lips since he court me, neither has he slept with her, otherwise I would have felt it. He didn't do it, I won't either. He just deeply hates me and he wanted to hurt me. I get it. That's enough explanation for now."
"Do you know why he hates you?"
I looked up, "No."
"Don't you want to know?" He was looking directly into my eyes as he knew he had hit the spot.
I clenched my jaw and looked down.
"You don't have to kiss me, we can't go on a fake date or something. He himself won't let that much happen."
I narrowed my eyes at him. He sounds a little too desperate right now to be honest. But I guess, it's his best friend, so he's concerned about him and all.
Was it worth it though? At least I'll get to know why he hates me. Plus, I won't have to get physical with him. And in case, no one cares and Chance doesn't react, we can always go back to being almost strangers.

It's not like I want Chance back in my life anyways. I just need to get him talk to me enough to find out the truth from him. I just want to know why he hates me and what I did to make him feel the way he does.
"First promise me one thing first," I said.
"Anything."
"If I give this a shot, you'll tell me what it is, even if Chance refuses to. I can't let this go in vain."
He pursed his lips and looked thoughtful.
In a few seconds he nodded and brought his hand forward for me to shake. "Deal?"
"Deal." I said, a small grin forming on my lips.
He grinned at me too before exiting the room.
"See you tomorrow, babe!" He shouted, deliberately a little too loud before leaving.
I just chuckled.
I frowned at the message that had come on my phone.
I didn't even have to think twice before saving the contact as Reece. Only he could message something like this.
I kept the phone away and brushed my teeth and picked my clothes for school that day, putting a little bit more effort. I chose a black tight top and paired it with skinny jeans. Simple but classy. Looking in the mirror, I debated whether or not to put makeup. Finally, I did a simple winged eyeliner and put on a little bit of gloss on my lips.
My phone buzzed with a message and I opened it.
I rolled my eyes, chuckling at his silliness.
Looking at the clock, my eyes almost bulged out of their sockets as I realized I was late.
"Shit!" I cursed as I rushed to my bedroom and snatched my bag and the books I had got home for homework as I dashed out of the room.
I hadn't done my homework.
'You had one job, Olivia. One job.' My wolf mocked at me.
I showed her a middle finger in my brain as I blocked her out. I still had to name her. I just was confused between so many.
Sighing, I got out of the main door to realize I had no ride.
Yay for me.
Looks like I had to walk. And that will make me even more late.
Double yay.
Cursing life, I began walking towards the left as I thought I'll be going like this to school today but my thoughts were proven wrong when a black Audi pulled up right in front of me and the window open, revealing a smirking jerk inside it.

"You ain't walking to school, girlie. At least not under my watch," he said and I sighed.
There's no point in arguing with him. I had learned that.
"OH MY GOD REECE, CAN YOU GO A LITTLE SLOWER! HOLY SHIT!" I screamed, my head almost banging against the glass as Reece gunned through a U-turn.
"Where's the fun in that?" He asked, flashing me a signature grin and I smacked him on the head.
"Oh and there's fun in dyin—" another screech left my lips as he turned to the right and I was sent flying in the left direction.
Reece looked at my face dramatically pressed against the glass and looked amused before he started laughing at me
"YOU BITCH!" I growled at him.
"Your face!" His laughter turned into a boisterous as I glared at him while he laughed at my misery.
He still laughed and I kept hitting his arm before he calmed down after a few minutes.
Taking in a deep breath, he wiped an imaginary tear of his off.
"Don't worry, Reece doesn't let anything happen to pretty ladies," he said, nudging me but I scouted his hand away.
"Oh shut up."
When we watch Hollywood movies where stars exit their cars dramatically and everyone from the school around stop to stare, we get so fascinated. And we want that to be us someday. We wish that get that kind of importance and attention.
But trust me, when that actually happens, it's hell'a unnerving. Especially if you are a normal person who isn't used to this.
Apparently, getting off the car with Reece Miller was a big deal because as soon as he parked his car (surprisingly smoothly) and opened the door for me (which he insisted to), the entire public around us practically gasped in surprise.
Everyone's eyes turned to me and I single-handedly witnessed girls throw jealous looks at me while they seductively smiled at Reece as we passed them. I had thought this only happens in movies!
I could feel everyone's gaze at me as they sized me up and criticized and mentally pointed out every flaw in my body.
I got a bit more attention from the guys too and the way they were looking at me, made me want to shy away and hide behind someone.
"Don't worry," A whisper said in my ears and an arm went around my shoulder, causing me to turn around to see Reece giving me a warm smile before he looked ahead with a neutral expression.
A wave of whispers flowed through the crowd and I tried to hide my face with my hair in an attempt to blend.
"Why are they staring!" I hissed.
"Because they can't mind their own fucking business," Reece said, annoyance clear in his voice which made me wonder.
"Don't you hate this? If yes, then why do you like being popular?" I asked.
He just shrugged. "I simply got used to it. You will too. Just at every point, remind yourself, that these people are the people who actually don't care. So you shouldn't care either. For them you're just a juicy gossip and for you they should just be passerbys."
"Was it easy?" I asked.
He smiled sadly at me. "No, it wasn't. It took time. I took time. But I told myself to do it eventually. We are interesting creatures, Olivia. If we tell ourselves something often enough, we end up believing it."
I soaked the information in as I looked down, biting my lip. I wasn't comfortable. Far from it.
I had only received attention once before and it hadn't turned well for me. I didn't know how to feel.
Reece must have observed my discomfort as he placed a finger under my chin and pulled my face up to meet my eyes.
He bent down, so he was near my level, only three-foure inches away from my face as he smiled supportingly.
"You'll be okay, Olivia. I am with you." He said and I felt a little bit of my anxiety and anticipation die down. I believed him. It will be okay.
Opening my mouth, I was about to say something when a familiar voice stopped me and a strong arm pulled me back away from Reece.
"I'd suggest you to back off, Reece. You seem too comfortable with something that doesn't belong to you."

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.

It offers a strange new experience that looks very seductive and engaging, with stunning graphics and alluring species, just utterly mindblowing and addictive. But, it seems nobody knows what MOLI actually is, a whole new level in VR gaming or an inexplicable transference to another universe with different worlds and their own laws and customs. The experience feels so real it’s difficult to be certain. But they have to find the answers fast because people soon start to die. *** This is not intended to be a typical litRPG series, although it uses a lot of its elements to help create the whole setting.
