, Nolan! Stop being such a dick!" Lily squeals while running away from Nolan.

"I'm good thanks, Sis," Nolan says, grabbing Lily by the waist and playfully wrestling her. I smile at them and shake my head in clear amusement.

Three days.

It's been three days since I woke up in this hospital and neither Lily nor Adam have left my side.

I haven't spoken one word at all. It's for the best.

No one can know.

The door to the room opens up, revealing Adam who has food and juices piled up in his hands. He looks over at me and chucks me a juice.

"Guys stop acting like fucking immature two-year-olds and shut up," Adam shouts.

"Ooh Nolan, Adam's using his big boy words!" Declares Lily, laughing. Nolan nods his head in agreement.

"I can hear you from outside the room!" Adam exasperates.

"Cannot," Lily throws back.

"Oh, here we go..." Nolan says sitting down, opening the bag of food. I get comfortable as well and open my juice.

"Can too!"

"Cannot you ass, stop lying!" Lily screams loudly.

"Shut up, Lily!" Adam hisses between his teeth.

"Fine then..." Lily stomps her foot and whips her hair in Adams' face.

"Stop being melodramatic Lily, I just told you to be quiet. Oh gosh..." Adams says, his hand running down his face.

"Yeah, but you don't have to sound so arrogant about it," Lily throws back again.

"Lily, I just said that you were acting like an immature two-year-old and that I could hear you from outside."

Lily scoffs and shakes her head. "Cut the bullshit, Adam."

"Wh - " Lily cuts Adam off.

"Just shut up, okay?"

"Lily, I'm not going to listen to y - "

Lily presses her finger against Adams' lips. "Shh, you've said enough."

I giggle quietly. Nolan's head snaps over to me, his eyes wide.

"Guys..." Nolan says slowly.

I shake my head at him and press my finger to my lips.

"What?!" They both whip their head towards Nolan. Nolan warily looks over at me before shaking his head and putting his hands up in surrender.

"Nothing - just wanted to see something."

"Ass."

"Dick."

They both say simultaneously before turning back to each other. Adam's glare is set only on Lily. It looks angry, murderous even.

Lily stands her ground, though it looks as if she's been in this position many times before. They both look deadly. Something is going to go wrong, my gut is telling me.

"You're a bastard, Adam," Lily spits. Adam smirks at her and just shrugs his shoulders.

"So I've been told."

Lily shakes her head in clear disgust before lunging at him. Adam easily catches Lily by the waist before flinging her over his shoulders.

Lily's screams penetrate through the air as she punches Adams back. This is getting a little out of hand considering we are in a hospital.

"Guys..." I croak out quietly, my voice hoarse from not talking in a while.

Again, Nolan's head snaps towards mine in complete utter astonishment. There is no response from Adam or Lily, though.

"Guys..." I say, projecting my voice louder this time. Nolan watches me warily as if I'm going to break.

"Guys!" I shout for the third time. Adam and Lily's heads snap towards me. Adam drops Lily on the couch before a huge smile appears on his face.

Lily squeals with excitement before running up to me and engulfing me in a hug. I softly giggle at her.

"Guys, did you seriously not hear her laugh or speak at all?" Nolan questions.

Lily and Adam look over at Nolan. "She laughed and spoke?" Lily asks. Nolan nods his head.

"Yep."

"You fucking ass hole!" Lily says, punching Nolan in the arm.

"I was sworn secrecy," Nolan says surrendering again. I smile up at Adam and shake my head.

"Now she can tell us who the fuck attacked her!" Lily squeals excitedly.

"Lily!" Adam and Nolan hiss. My smile turns into a frown.

David.

The night rushes back into my head. I look down to my arm and notice a massive black, purple bruise there.

Why haven't I noticed this before?

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it, I swe - " Lily gets cut off.

"Just shut up..." Adam says angrily. He looks over at me, I'm not looking at him though. My eyes glaze over the rest of my body. Bruises lay everywhere.

Why am I so ugly?

Adam kneels down beside me and tilts my chin up to look him in the eyes.

"Isabelle..." he whispers. "You're fine, no one is going to hurt you." I look Adam in the eyes and shake my head. If only he knew.

Make no friends.

I push his hand off my chin and lie back down. Silence fills the room with Lily cries being the only noise, but they soon go away when I hear the door open and close.

I hear Adam sigh from beside me. I roll back over onto my back and turn my head to the side.

"Adam..." I whisper. His head tilts up and looks me in the eyes.

"Yeah?" He sounds hopeful like I'm going to say something that would fix this.

"Can you get me some water, please?" He looks down disappointingly before nodding his head and leaving the room.

A silence is what I am met with.

I sit up and dangle my feet over the edge of the bed. I need the toilet but I haven't done anything without any nurse's assistance. My feet touch the cold tiled floor.

I shiver but brush it off and stand up. Instantly, a shock of pain shoots its way through my leg. I whimper and quickly sit back down on the bed in pain.

The door opens and in walks Adam with my glass of water.

"Isabelle?" Adam quickly places the water on a table and squats down in front of me. "What happened?" His hand rests on top of my thigh rubbing it reassuringly.

I look at him through my lashes and shake my head. I lay my head on the pillow and cry.

Shortly after, a nurse walks in. I hear whispering before the nurse walks over to me. Adam sits down and watches.

The nurse prods around my arm before inserting a needle into it. "This should help, sweetie," she says before cleaning up and leaving the room.

Adam stays in the same position for a while before I hear him stand up and walk closer to me. He touches my cheek and sighs. My lids feel heavy and I start to accompany sleep.

"I'm not going to give up on you, Isabelle, so don't give up on yourself."

And then, darkness.
