《Kings of Hawkings [bxb]》Chapter 9

While walking to the school, Hugh and Jonas were side by side. The other students walking were discussing the Wolf's post with excitement, coming up with random interpretations of what it could me. They gravitate around Hugh and Jonas' tall figures, trying to engage them with their speculation, but the two were having their own conversation. They weren't aware of the group of boys idolizing them.
Suddenly, tires screeched on the road behind them and Jonas was able to hear a suped up engine roaring and a sound system bumping. Just by the sounds, Jonas could tell that someone with money was approaching. Hugh noticed the Jonas' attitude and turned back. "Fuck. St. Vincent's snobs are coming."
"Convertible?" Jonas asked.
He nodded. "Top down."
Jonas leaned over to the guy in front of him. "I'll pay you back." He grabbed the coffee for the guy's and made sure the top was a little loose.
He heard the kids in the convertible yelling.
"Look at the Hawking juvies! Go back to jail!"
"Fucking scum!"
"You twats!"
"Go back to the zoo!"
The Hawkings boys were yelling back and flipping off the car. Jonas smirked briefly and tossed the coffee cup perfectly and it landed in the front seat and splashed everywhere.
"What the fuck!?" The car swerved and then pulled over roughly. "Who the fuck did that? Who's going to pay for that?"
The driver hopped out with his friend but froze when they saw the recognizable silver hair in the middle of the group. They forced a glared in order to conceal their unease but it was still apparent on their faces. "Fucking Mad Dog." The driver spit out.
Hugh laughed. "Pay for your car? I'm pretty sure your daddy is going to do that, pretty boy."
Jonas studied the two boys from St. Vincents and was relieved that they were not familiar, which means that they probably wouldn't know his identity. He, Hugh, and Millan stepped forward, the crown emblems on the jackets.
"Shit! Three kings." They jumped into their car and peeled off.
It was silent for a while and then large group of boys started to laugh and hollered out to Jonas, knowing it was him who threw the coffee. Some gave Jonas a thumbs up. Others shouted words like, "That was the best!"
Hugh ran up and jumped on Jonas' back. "Amazing, sweetheart!"

Jonas was a concerned that his actions would cause unease or consequences with the Hawkings students. He couldn't help but to feel happy about their reactions and encouragement, especially with Hugh's sculpted body was pressed against his back. Hugh leaned over so his lips brushed Jonas' ear. "Do you think they recognized you?"
A small shiver ripped through his body when Hugh's breath touched his neck. Hugh noticed and smiled while wrapping his arms tightly around Jonas. Jonas secured his legs to make sure he stayed on his back. "No. They seemed a little younger and I look different."
"You're right. I probably wouldn't recognize you compared to that picture in our room." He chuckled. "Am I heavy?"
Jonas snorted. "You're heavier than Travis."
"Anyone would be heavier than Travis." Hugh said with a pout.
They were taller than many of the boys around them, so they conversation seemed to be a secret for just them. They talked in hushed voices, and Jonas's face didn't betray his emotions in front of the others. However, Hugh started to notice small details.
Jonas had stages of happiness. A small curl of his lip, a crinkle around his eyes, and the small dimple begging to be revealed. And then his breathy snort was a laugh. Hugh wanted to hoard all of these reactions for himself.
They all made it to their first class, and everyone was already talking about the coffee incident. The students would whistle or cheer when they saw Jonas.
They sat together, but this time Hugh sat next to Jonas. Sam and Rodgers came in to greet them.
Sam fist bumped Jonas. "I heard about this morning. Good job. That may deter them for a while so that definitely helps."
They left after their greeting and the teacher came in. He gave they three Kings a quick nod and started the class. However it was then when a large burly kid came barreling into the classroom.
Jonas was leaning back in his chair and the boy approached him and slammed his fist on Jonas' desk. The loud noise silenced everyone. Jonas flicked his cold eyes to the boy. He was a little young and obviously got his way through life using brute force.
"I am challenging you, newbie King."
Jonas glared at him, with his arms crossed across his chest. "Fine. But after my class."
"Now, newbie."
The teacher coughed. "Um... Jonas, if you need to leave and come back, you can."

Jonas shook his head. "No need." He flicked his eyes back to the kid. "Are you ready?"
"Always." He smirked.
Jonas kicked out his leg and hooked it behind his knee. He jerked the kid's leg towards him, making the kid stumble and lose his balance. Jonas then grabbed his collar and pulled him down so his head smacked loudly on the desk. The boy crumpled to the ground and fainted.
Jonas looked towards the door and saw several student standing there with wide eyes. "Take your friend to the nurse. He can challenge me again when I am not in class."
A couple of kids came in and started to pull the collapsed kid's body. "We should be able to challenge you whenever we want."
Jonas glared. "You can, but this is also about fucking respect."
The kid shrunk back under his gaze. "Sorry King. You're right." They moved quickly and took the other kid to the nurse.
Hugh leaned over. "You're always impressing me sweetheart." A small dimple formed on Jonas' cheek, which caused Hugh's smile to turn to a wide grin.
"I am curious to see you go all out." He mused.
Jonas raised an eyebrow. "I'm going to gym tonight and should be sparring someone. You're more than welcome to join."
He only had a couple of classes with Hugh, but they always made sure they sat together. At lunch, Jonas was laying down on a bench with his head resting on Hugh's lap. He was reading his book while Hugh was bobbing his head and listening to headphones. He dropped one headphone and placed it in Jonas' ear so they were listening to the same music. Jonas now was tapping his foot to the beat. Once in a while, Hugh would grab carrots and feed them to the quiet Jonas.
They guys around them kept giving them weird looks. "How did they get so close? Did they know each other from before?"
Travis shook his head. "I swear they just met yesterday, but they just seem to be so in sync. Bestie soulmates?"
Jaiden laughed. "I think they are an old married couple."
Hugh heard Jaiden and bent over so he was close to Jonas. "What do you think, Jo? Are we an old married couple?"
Jonas raised an eyebrow but went with it. "Sure babe."
He was strangely content, but his peace was interrupted when there was another gruff voice. "Newbie King, I want to challenge you."
Jonas turned and looked up him up and down. He held up the book and Hugh took it from his hands, making sure to bookmark the place he left off. Jonas took off his jacket, which caused a ripple effect of gasps. His arms were large and cut, accentuating every muscle. His shirt clung to his body, revealing his back muscles and his chest. The boy who challenged him faltered for a moment but composed himself quickly.
Jonas lowered his stance, but kept his hands in his pocket. He saw his opponent lift his fists in a specific pose. "Muay Thai?" Jonas suddenly asked.
His challenger was surprised and nodde. "Yeah, I have been learning a little."
Jonas gave an appreciative hum. "One second. Lower your stance a little and shift your weight a little more to the back foot. Arms up a little higher, and remember to keep you forearms facing your opponent because these are your guards."
He helped him with the stance and made a few alterations. "How does it feel."
"More comfortable. I feel like I can move faster."
"By just having this stance, you can dodge and move faster, but you can also shift your weight better bringing more power to your punch." Jonas held out a palm. "Try it."
His opponent moved and shifted his body into the punch and landed heavily on Jonas' hand. Although it was an extremely hard hit, Jonas did not budge and his hand absorbed the hit. "That was really good. Notice the difference?"
His opponent nodded enthusiastically. "That was brilliant! Thanks King!"
Jonas nodded. "Did you want to start?"
His opponent laughed. "I already know the result. Maybe another time we can spar and you can help me with my technique a little more."
"Of course." Jonas nodded. He moved back to the bench and laid down with his head on Hugh's lap. Hugh placed the headphone back in his ear, and instead of his book, handed him a cold soda.
Jonas's lips curled a little and held onto the can of soda with the hand that caught the fist. He didn't want to admit that it hurt like hell, but Hugh already figured it out and gave him something cold to dull the pain. Without exchanging a word, they continued with their comfortable silence of reading and listening to music.
