Solenne leant on her elbow to look at Aerilyn, "they most probably are true, he was as crazy as they told you" she confirmed.

The Queen decided she needed to be open and honest with Aerilyn, she couldn't keep things from her. "My father was a horrible person, he always belittled me along with my uncle, they wanted Matheus to take the throne, but I was first in line and the people received me better. I was also stronger" Both a man and a woman could either be king or Queen of the vampires, it did not matter.

It only mattered that they were the strongest, smartest and most accepted. "So that's why they tried to marry me off, but I couldn't marry out of duty, the only thing I had control of was that I had a mate, so they made me search for him, it always had to be a him" Solenne smiled sadly reminiscing on the past.

Aerilyn listened intently. "My mother on the other hand, was just good breeding stock for him, they weren't even mates. It caused a rift in the family, to marry someone who is not your mate is frowned upon, but the crown had already been passed to him by my grandmother, Queen Valeria"

This was the most she had ever heard Queen Solenne speak, it was as if she was truly opening up. "She basically raised me, my mother was killed by my father early on, but he claimed it was an accident that he had nothing to do with. Queen Valeria, was kind hearted, loyal and compassionate, everything you could want in a person and a Queen I suppose. Before she died she made me vow only to marry my mate, but her death turned me into a monster" Aerilyn kissed Solenne's cheek lovingly, she could now only hope that she may be the Queen's mate however far fetched it sounded in her head.

This comforted the Queen. "Did your grandmother not realise what your father was like?" She questioned.

The Queen of Vampires propped herself up on her elbows. "Oh yes, but once a vampire like my father is at their strongest and my grandmother was older, she was no match for him. It was too late" her grandmother could do nothing, she thought she had done her best in raising them both but they became obsessed with power and taking over the humans.

This was something that Queen Valeria did not agree with. "My grandmother died for the sake of the humans, she didn't agree with over throwing them"

Aerilyn was shocked to hear this side of the story that they had never been told, all she was told was that the grandmother died in the war fighting humans. But it was the complete opposite. "Thank you for sharing that with me, I know it must have been hard" they kissed once more.

Solenne could not stop looking at Aerilyn, both enraptured by each other as they moved their heads closer together. "Anything for you pet" she smirked. This only made the girl question who she was to the vampire more, had it been so obvious all this time, could they really be mates. Their noses were touching as they eyed each other, Solenne lifted her head a tiny bit to allow Aerilyn access, they began kissing again. That night they went again once more until Aerilyn was too exhausted and fell asleep being held by the vampire Queen.

The next morning they woke up together, "you know you will not be sleeping alone ever again" Solenne joked.

Aerilyn rested her head on the Queen's chest, "I have never slept alone" the girl responded nonchalantly.

Solenne was confused, "what are you on about?"

This time the girl had one up on the Queen, her lips pursed together as the Queen lifted up to look at Aerilyn to gage what was she was on about. "I know you come in here every night to check on me"

Queen Solenne let out a nervous laugh. "Where did you get that idea from?"

The girl smiled brightly at the Queen, they were encompassed in their own bubble and world and neither wanted it to end. "When I first arrived here, Nilsa always made comments about the room smelling of you" she laughed.

Solenne thought back to the beginning, about how far they had come to where they are now. "She did that on purpose, that scheming devil"

This time it was Aerilyn's turn to look confused, why would she do it on purpose? Solenne quickly changed the subject, she wouldn't tell Aerilyn like this, not after last night, she needed to make it romantic and not like some hook up, Aerilyn deserved more than that.

The Queen got up out of bed, very naked in fact causing the girl to blush, Solenne turned around fully this time, her smile bright and her eyes even brighter, she almost looked as if she was glowing the girl noticed. "Are you finally going to join me in the shower?" Solenne joked about the previous time she invited her for a shower.

Aerilyn pushed the sheets back and walked over to the Queen, pressing her lips to her. She wasn't sure if she would join her or not but then the girl walked straight passed her and into the shower. You didn't have to tell Solenne twice as she followed her into the shower like a long lost puppy.

Once they had showered and gotten ready they made their way to breakfast as usual with the others. They almost bounced in the room, their feelings were fault before they even entered the room by the others intuitions. "Good morning" Solenne spoke as they all bowed. "Your in a very good mood" Luanna noticed.

Solenne knew that they were going to tease her, their hearing was sometimes their down fall in the case of intimate moments. Aerilyn none the wiser sat down and started eating. "built up an appetite have we" Prince Matheus stifled a laugh.

The girl looked at him and frowned as she was confused, so she just ignored him and carried on. "Well I'm glad our Queen finally got laid, might help her relax now" Matheus commented again.

Aerilyn put her knife and fork down abruptly and the room went silent. She had turned very red as she looked up in shock. She looked over at Solenne who held her gaze, then looked at her neck where her marks had began to fade, she was pleased with herself. "Maybe plug your ears next time" Aerilyn shrugged her shoulders.

Luanna laughed at that. "If all we knew it would take to have a level headed Queen was sex with a human we would have done it a long time ago" in all seriousness she was happy the human was here.

Solenne rolled her eyes and gritted her teeth. "You make it sound like she is any human and that is far from the truth"

Aerilyn giggled at the Queen's protectiveness. "Let's all talk about your sex lives, or lack of it" she nodded her head towards Matheus, they had formed a similar brother and sister bond since her had come back.

They were all laughing in hysterics, "I could have any girl I want thank you" he replied all high and mighty.

After they finished Solenne stood up. "We would live to sit and chat all day, but we shall be heading to the human settlement" she pulled Aerilyn's chair out and tucked it in.

"You should take Aerilyn with you" Luanna suggested but Solenne was hesitant, she was scared something would happen and that would stop her from protecting her mate.

She looked over at the girl for confirmation, Aerilyn frantically nodded her head up and down, she wanted to see what it was like. "Please can I come" she used her puppy dog eyes to try and seduce the Queen not knowing that it worked without even trying.

Solenne gave in so easily. "Come on then, but you'll be riding on Keres with me" she had to keep her close.

Once the horses were saddled up they made their way over, flanked by guards to protect them.
