《Unwanted》Chapter 72

"We have to get going soon." Rebecca said, holding out a hand to help me up. "They will come looking for your body." I took her hand and she pulled me up but my legs were to tired to hold my weight and buckles beneath me. Sliding her arm across my shoulders, she helped hold my weight.
"Why are you helping me?" I grunted with effort as we began moving. "I thought you hated me."
"I did." She admitted solemnly. "Though it was for all the wrong reasons."
"How did you even find me? We are far outside the pack borders."
"I knew the plan. I knew where they were going to be." Shoving her away, I fell forwards and landed on my hands and knees. Flipping around, I kept my eyes on her as I scooted always from her.
"You are working with them." I cried and quickened my sloppy movements. "You've caused all of this! You're a traitor!"
"Would you keep your voice down? They will hear you. I'll explain everything if you just let me but you need to stop." She held her hand out again but I growled at it.
"Look, I understand you're angry and you can beat me if we were to get into a fight. But, right now, you are weak and I could have easily have killed you already. Hell, I could have just let you drown but I didn't. Now, let me just help you get back to Orion and I'll explain everything on the way." She nodded to her outstretched hand and I regretfully took it. Getting into the same position as before, we continued our trek back down the mountain.
"I'm not sure if Orion had told you this or not but I am half human."
"He's had mentioned it to me once." She nodded her head.
"My mother was a werewolf but she was a rogue. I'm not sure why but I was told that she was. Most thought it was because she enjoyed freedom and not having to abide to others' rules. She was what you would call a hooker or a call girl or sorts." I stayed silent, not sure how to respond.
"Your uncle used my mother's services as did other men,. It was how she made a living. Though, she was completely infatuated with your uncle, maybe even loved him." I shivered at the thought.

"A few months after meeting him, she fell pregnant with me. She was ecstatic and thought that she was carrying his baby and that he might establish a relationship with her. Yet, when she told him that she was carrying his child, he didn't care." She was careful in the way she navigated us down the steep inclines. She made she she had the proper footing to ensure that we didn't fall.
"She was devastated when I was born with bright blonde hair and blues eyes, features that nether her or him had. Shamefully, she turned to my father, a human drug dealer who didn't want me either. She told him what she and I were and he called her a mental freak and told her to get the hell away. Heartbroken, she left on on your uncle's porch and swallowed wolfsbane."
"I am so sorry for you loss."
"It's fine. I don't really remember her anyway. Your uncle took me in and had others raise me. Years later he had let me go into his house for the first time. He had friends over at the house, playing card games, doing drugs and getting drunk off their asses." I nodded my head, completely understanding what she was saying.
"When he got really disoriented, he boasted about how he sold another little girl because she was being bad. He told me that he would do the same to me if I didn't behave. After that, I did everything he told me to, afraid that he would get rid of me.
He was always nice, praising me for doing things he didn't ask me to do. I was just afraid. I was afraid that he do the same things to me that he had done to you. I grew up hearing the lies he made up about you. That you went around and told everyone that he beat and raped you and how that was completely untrue.
A couple weeks after I moved into the house, a boy was brought over, Icarus. He was told the same things as me and Icarus told me things that his dad hasn't already. Eventually, I grew to dislike you but I didn't hate you.
Then, one day, your uncle came back to the house acting frantic and said we needed to leave. We needed to pack everything we had and leave. He told us it was because of you, that we were leaving our house because of you. We had to live in the woods m, constantly moving around and I would always complain of the dirt and having to eat meat all the time. That's when I grew to hate you.

We lived like that for a few months but I grew tired of it and so did they. Some of the rouges we picked up on the way didn't like the fact that I was half human, a bastard child. Everyone would get in fights over me and it was decided that I would have to go. I was supposed to be dropped off at the Claywood Pack but they misinterpreted the directions and I ended up here, in the Mountain Ridge Pack.
The Alpha and Luna were very welcoming, along with their son but the other pack members were a bit warily to accept a rogue into the pack. Orion's was the only kid I was able to play with, the other kids were not allowed to be near me. I stayed close to Orion as we grew up and we were close.
I was a bit angry when we started to drift apart but then you came along and he almost forgot about me. When Icarus and your uncle found us and told me what he was planning, I went along with it. Roxy somehow came into play, insisting that Icarus is his mate but he feels nothing towards her. We used her feelings against her and used her.
One night I heard you crying in Orion's room and I couldn't help but overhear it. You were crying and telling him what your uncle used to do to you. At first, I though it was a load of bullshit but I cracked open the door a little bit." She paused and looked o we at me
"I saw all the scars on your back and that made me suspect them a little. Your uncle promised me that he wouldn't harm Orion, that he would be saved for me so that we could rule, but he lied. When he killed him, I became furious that he killed my childhood friend, that he broke his promise, but then you killed him.
After the, Icarus kept trying to get ahold of me but I refused. Eventually, he threatened to expose me to the pack what I did so I had to go by what he said. We made a plan to lure you outside the pack and murder you, make it seem like you ran away and got mauled by rouges.
But, when Orion came back, I needed to see him. I broke into his office and you guys had that book open on the desk. I read everything, it unveiled all the lies I was told. I was done with them but I needed to know when they would do it, to warn you. I pretended to stand by them.
Apparently they suspected my change of heart and changed it to today. I wouldn't have noticed but I picked up Roxy's scent inside the pack. I follows you guys and stayed further down stream where I waited for you."
"Thank you. Thank you for everything."
"I apologize how much of a bitch I was to you, I was just afraid."
"You were afraid that your first friend would leave you." I nodded my head understanding completely. "You love you, your aren't in love with him."
"I'm also very protective of him, if you couldn't tell. I was afraid that you truly were a lying bitch and would end up hurting him, that you only wanted him for his status. I truly am sorry."
"It's alright. I forgive you. I'm also sorry if it made it seem like I was taking Orion away from you. "
"It's quite alright. I was overreacting."
"Malia?" A voice shouted in the distance, full of panic.
"It's sounds like somebody missed you." Rebecca commented, making me let out a small laugh.
"Moon Goddess above, where have you been?" Orion shouted, approached us quickly before pulling me away from Rebecca and into his arms.
"She will tell you everything. I have some things to take care of." Rebecca said before shifting and running towards the direction we had just came.
