《Keeping Lennox》Chapter Nine

"You will never believe the phone call that I just got. I can't believe that she has the nerve to do this." I threw my fists down on the table causing my entire family to jump.
"Woah, son," my dad held up a hand. "What happened? Is it Tori?"
I sighed, "yeah, dad. Isn't it always her? She found out that I went to her house the other day. Not from Mrs. Pat. But from a spy. A spy, dad. Tori has someone spying on my every move. This is going to stop." I began pacing the kitchen floor.
"Wade, son," my mom reached for me. "It will all be okay. We will figure this out. We are here for you."
"I know, mom. I have you guys. And Cassie." I groaned. What have I done? I am dragging this innocent girl into my mess of a life.
"Why the groan? I thought you liked Cassie being around?" My mom was concerned.
"It's not that," I replied. "I am just dragging her in this mess. She doesn't deserve it. Tori told me that she knew Cassie was with me. She said 'that girl' has no right to be around 'my' daughter. How can she say that about the girl I love?"
My parents just stared at me. Crap. I just admitted my feelings to my parents. This just got awkward.
"Wade," my mom began. "Did you just say you love Cassie?"
I sighed, "yes. I did. It is too late to hide it now." I paused. "I am in love with Cassandra Marie Chandler. I love everything about her. Her smile. Her laugh. Her passion for everything. Everything. I love Cassie. Tori? She is nobody to me. Just Lennox's mother. Nothing more. Cassie is the one I want to be with forever."
With that, I excused myself and went to my bedroom. I turned around one last time to see my parents high five each other.
