《Hot Chocolate》chapter sixty-eight, girl chat.

Camila and Benjamin hit it off within seconds, talking about art and colleges and what Camila wants to be when she's older. I kind of zoned out, but Cami talking gave me a good excuse to blatantly look at her.

We all finished eating, with plenty left over, which I warned Mom about way too many times but she stated that she'd rather have too much than too little.

"Help me clean up?"

Becca and I cleaned away the plates into the dishwasher in the kitchen while the others continued their chat.

"What happened to 'just friends, I don't have a girlfriend' Theodore?"

"Well I wasn't really going to tell you about a crush on Camila, was I?"

"You told Zoe."

"That's different. Zoe is actually around to notice things." I bit my tongue the second I realised how rude that came out.

"Theo- I'm sorry-"

"No- I didn't mean it like that- I just meant-"

"No, I get it. She's more of a sister to you than I am."

"No, Bec." I rubbed my forehead. "She only knew because we walked in on her with Spencer, while Camila was wearing my boxers." I chuckled, trying to make light of it.

"Wait- so you hooked up before?"

"Shit." Telling her was not my plan. "It was kind of a benefits thing a couple times, but there wasn't supposed to be any strings."

"Is that was it was today?"

"I hope not. Well, I don't think so."

Becca was making me doubt myself for a second, but after recalling tonight I think she feels the same as I do, not just friends-with-benefits, something more.

"No. We both like each other as more than that."

"Are you gonna take her out?"

She shut the dishwasher, leaning against it with crossed arms.

"Like a date?"

"No like a hitman. Of course, like a date."

"I should, shouldn't I?"

"Yes, you should."

"We go out all the time though."

"As friends. You need to be romantic now, if you want to be her boyfriend."

I took a second to think. She's right. I have no idea where to take her though.

"What are you two conspiring about?" Mom interrupted.

"Nothing important." I shrugged.

"Is Camila staying over?"

"Would that be cool? If she wants to."

"It's not a problem."

"Thanks."

Becca had a smile on her face as she left the room, shortly followed by Mom and I.

"I have cake if anyone wants some...?"

Everyone groaned and laughed at the thought of more food. "We're full, thanks."

Mom brought out red wine and glasses, and the adults moved to the sitting room.

"Anyone interesting in your life right now, Zoe?"

"Well actually..."

The closed the door behind them, leaving Camila and I sat at the dining table.

"That was-"

I didn't let her finish her sentence because my lips were on hers the second she turned to face me. My hand held her face but she pulled away after a few seconds.

"Can you not go two hours without me?"

"Nope." I shrugged, sitting back in my seat. "Do you know how hard it is to act like we're 'just friends'?"

"Well you're a terrible actor. Your eyes, and hand, haven't left my body all evening."

"Oops."

"Oops." She mimicked me, not being impressed.

"I'm sorry." I lied. "Do you want a drink?"

"Sure."

"You're staying over tonight." I told her, not giving her the option.

I tossed her a cold bottle of water from the fridge while she sat on the kitchen's worktop.

"And what if I don't want to?"

"I know you want to. And I want you to. And Mom said you can. I don't see why you can't."

I stood across from her, leaning against the oven.

"Ugh fine." She rolled her eyes dramatically. "If I have to."

"Well I guess you don't have to. You could always go home with Zoe, instead of finishing what we started earlier..."

"I can't imagine what you'd do if I left. You barely coped one meal, and I was sat right beside you."

"That's because I wanted you to be sat on me instead."

"What lovely thoughts to be having while eating dinner with our families."

"You bring out the worst in me, Young." I sighed, stepped forward in front of her. "Could you blame me? I mean- look at you..."

My hands met her waist and she hooked hers around my neck. We were almost the same height, and her legs that dangled from the worktop parted, letting me step even closer.

"Don't forget we're not alone." She reminded me as I moved closer to her lips.

"We'll have to be carful then, won't we?"

"Clothes on." She warned me with a serious glint in her eyes. "For now."

"Clothes on." I promised. Her hands around my neck tugged me closer, pressing her lips to mine.

Her fingers ran through my hair and I held her closer to me, moving one of my hands down from her waist to her thigh. Her tongue slipped hungrily into my mouth while she tugged at my hair. I felt my way under her dress, up her bare thigh, squeezing it under my finger tips, lifting her leg to wrap it around her waist.

"Clothes... on." She pulled away to mutter onto my lips.

"The dress can stay on..."

"Theo..."

"Mhm?"

"You really want to risk it?"

"I'd take you on that dining table right now, if you want."

"Wait." Her finger pressed to my lips.

"What?" I muttered.

"Thank you so much for tonight, it was lovely..."

"Fuck." I rolled my neck back, pulling away from her and returning to my spot I front of the oven.

Camila straightened her dress and wiped her lips, making me chuckle a little.

"Eh hem." She coughed, trailing her eyes down my body.

I looked down to see my half-erect dick visible through my grey sweats. "Fuck."

It was her turn to laugh now, and I tugged down my shirt as much as possible, resting my hands in front of me.

"Ready?"

"Yeah."

We both left the kitchen and met everyone in the hallway, exchanging hugs.

"I'm heading home, are you staying tonight?" Zoe asked Camila.

"I think so, if that's alright with you?"

"Of course." Mom smiled. "You're welcome anytime."

"I'll see you all again soon, thank you for dinner."

"I'll walk you out." I offered, opening the door for her.

We waited until the door was closed and we got to her car before we started any conversation.

"Thank you, Theo."

"Don't thank me. I broke our promise. I'm sorry."

"That wasn't your fault. Or Camila's. They're the only ones to blame. Thank you for beating the shit out of him."

"Anytime." I smiled, giving her a hug. "I actually wanted to ask you for a favour..."

"So-"

Benjamin claimed he needed his 'beauty sleep' and cut the night short. I sat down on the sofa's, in between Theo's Mom and sister.

"Been a while since we've had a girls chat."

Theo's Mom has been like a mother to me since we met. I'd tell her all my school girl gossip, and she helped Zoe with 'parenting skills'.

"Any boys?" She dug.

I ached to tell her, but I don't even know where I'd start.

Although her question was aimed at me, Becca saved my ass by interrupting. "I'm kind of talking to a guy..."

"What?" We both turned to her. "Who?"

"He's just this boy from my class, it's nothing serious though."

"Any pictures?"

She scrambled on her phone, almost tipping over her glass of wine while she tried to type into her phone.

"What did I miss?" Theo came in, slumping on the one seat sofa beside Becca.

"Just girls talking boys."

"Ah." He tut. "What boys?"

Although his eyes were on his Mom I could feel them burning on me.

"Here." Becca interrupted again, turning her phone to us. "That's him with his little brother."

"He's cute."

"He's cute."

Theo's ears pricked up as we sang in unison. "Who's this?"

"His name is Lincoln." She smiled.

"Lincoln?" I asked, slightly smiling. Becca always said she'd never marry a man with an unmoanable name, yet she chose someone named Lincoln.

"That's what I said." Theo chuckled.

"Theo knew before us?"

"I'm her brother, she obviously needs my approval first."

"Well Theo wouldn't talk about his love life so I had to spill mine." She downed her glass of white wine.

"No romance in your life, Dory?"

His eyes flicked to me before he could even plan his next words, and I'm just as intrigued as the other two.

"Not yet..."

"Bore-ring." Becca slurred. "I'm going to bed."

She kissed our cheeks, "Goodnight, mwah, goodnight, goodnight."

"I might go too." Their Mom sighed. "Leave you two to do your own thing." She smiled obliviously.

"Night, Mom."

"Goodnight."

Once they were both out of sight, Theo moved beside me. My head rested on his shoulder and his hand rested on my thigh. "Yet?"

"Mhm." He nodded. "We haven't told her, yet."

We listened for their bedroom doors to close before I turned my head to meet his. "Are we going to bed too?"

"Something like that..." He smiled, getting up from the sofa and leaving the room, allowing me to follow him down the hallway. "We still need to talk..."
