(Saturday morning)

"How did they even take this picture? The boardroom is located on the last top floor" my best friend / lawyer, Mason said while laughing earning a glare from me

"You think I would call you here if I knew? Stupid" I said standing up going to pour me another drink, I never get a freaking break from all this shit.

"You sure you wasn't shoving your tongue down her throat?" Mason said while zooming in on the photo of me and Amanda in the boardroom, it was all over the blogs and newspapers

'I wish' I mumbled before taking a sip of my drink

"What?" Mason questioned while looking at me

"No! No I wasn't,I was just putting her in her place because of her smart remarks" I said rolling my eyes

"I see" he said smirking at me

"I don't have time for this, Is there a way to make all of this disappear?" I said while rubbing my head, I felt a migraine coming

"Disappear?! NO! this is good publicity, it makes up for all the bad publicity you've been getting these past few months. Have you seen how most of the blogs are praising you, their opinion of you changed over night. Leo this is amazing, can't you see?" he said, his publicist mode kicking in.

" No I can't see, I'm blind all of a sudden " I said being sarcastic while walking to the kitchen to make me a sandwich and of course, he followed.

" Ha-ha very funny, "he said with a tight smile," the Reign Supreme Ball is coming up, you should take that Amanda girl instead of your usual skinny, fake tan, bad built putanas " he said referring to Stacy who happens to be one of the women I hook up with every now and then , I couldn't help but burst out laughing. I never understood why he hated Stacy so much, why he and everyone did.

" Amanda is one of my employees, do you know how inappropriate that's going to b-You know what? Let's just drop this fucken conversation since you're not doing shit to help me" I said while throwing my hands up

"You need to stop being hot headed and listen to me sometimes, this is your chance to redeem yourself back into everyone's good side. You don't want to loose investors because of your bad publicity" he said before turning to leave

He did have a point but how the hell was I suppose to ask Amanda to be my date for the ball, she'll never agree. She hates my guts and I hate hers,i wonder if she has seen the blogs.

Sunday morning : 10 AM)

"Mama ndiyaphila, ninjani nina?" (mom I'm doing okay, how are you guys?) I said to my mom while twirling a dreadlock with my finger. I was in the taxi on my way to the Reigns Inc.

"Siyaphila mntanam, kunjani e Melika? Uyatya phofu?" (We're doing fine my child, how's America? Are you eating well)

"I'm glad mama and yes, I have been eating good and New York is beautiful but of course I miss home" I said sounding down

"Amanda baby, you know we love you and miss you too. Whenever you're home sick, you can call any of us, any time baby." my mom said trying to uplift my mood, God! I love this woman.

"I love you guys more, Mama I have to go but I'll call you again when I get back to the apartment because I want to speak to Lisa about her academics" I said while taking the money to pay the driver out of my purse, handing it over to him.

"Okay baby, bye" she said before she hung up. I thanked the driver while getting out of the taxi.

I entered the building, greeting the security by the door. I walked straight into the elevator going to the HR Department floor. Once the doors of the elevator opened, I walked to Mrs Brown's office. I knocked on her office door and heard a faint 'come in', I took a deep breath before going in. She diverted her attention to me when I fully stepped in,

"Ms Gaffley ! Good morning and thank you for coming in such short notice, coffee? " she said with a sympathetic smile while standing up going to her coffee machine

"Yes please. It's okay Mrs Brown, I didn't really have anything to do" I said while playing with my nails

"Pardon me, you can take a seat and please call me Mia, Mrs Brown makes me seem like a grown old woman, omg. " she said chuckling

"Okay Mia , I don't mean to come off rude but why did you want to see?" I said anxiously, I couldn't take the anxiety

"Don't worry it's not about my brother and you" she said laughing at me while giving me my cup of coffee and sitting down in front of me

"Your brother?" I questioned confused, she chuckled before answering

"Leonardo is my older brother Amanda" well I didn't expect that

"Uhmm...to clarify there is no 'me and your brother', he's practically my boss" I said looking her in the eyes

"What my brother does with his personal life has nothing to do with me, although you guys look cute" she said before continuing, "anyway I called you here today because I wanted to give you your invitation to the Reign Supreme Ball which will take place this coming Friday night,my family hosts this ball every year to raise money for the charities in Congo but also to celebrate our hardworking employees. It's important for you to come because every Head Department has to take their supervisor to the ball, I know it's short notice but I'll have one of my designers pick a dress for you for Friday. Just please say 'Yes' " she said with a pleading voice while batting her eyelashes at me

" I can't really say no so I'll go "I said as she stood up and ran to my side hugging me, I chuckled at her childish behavior

" I can not wait! The ball is my favorite event "she said with googly eyes
