《Unveiling the Arcane》Sage

I found myself suddenly needing to move. I floundered trying to get out of the bed and was only able to do so without falling thanks to Caden supporting me while I fumbled off the edge. I started pacing. My head felt like it was going to explode. I realized then that the four other guys in the room were worried. "I'm fine," I assured them as I continued to pace.
The worry lessened minutely. Caden broke the silence by nudging Dante's shoulder, "Have you seen her slippers yet?" Dante looked at Caden like he was missing a few gears.
When Dante did glance at my feet to see the fox slippers a small smirk bloomed across his face. I narrowed my eyes at him. I wasn't really mad at him, but he was challenging everything that I knew about the world and myself.
"Well, the twins had me thinking you were sexually attracted to foxes; so, there's that." I snarked at him.
Maddox's shoulders moved up and down and I smiled at the ability to set off his silent laugh. Dante glared at the twins before he too started snickering. "What exactly are you guys? Is that a rude question?" I broke up the schoolgirl giggling fest.
They all became serious once again and I felt bad for making Maddox's laughter go away. Aden cleared his throat about to answer before Dante cut in. "It is considered a rude question but we don't mind. First I want to know what do we feel like to you? I'm kind of curious."
"You really want to know?" I cocked a brow at him.
He knew what the look was for, but he set his jaw and nodded. I looked at Caden sitting at the end of the bed and focused on what he was feeling. I usually blocked out the way people felt and could only sense them without trying when they were extremely emotional. My head tilted in its usual way. "Hungry? No, greedy." I spoke and watched as Dante and Maddox checked their pockets and Dante ran his hand along his shirt collar before cursing and holding his hand out.
A thin chained necklace with a small cross on it was placed in his hand after Caden pulled it from his pocket. "You dipshit. Your mom got me this for my 16th birthday. She would skin your hide if she knew." Dante chastised him.
I looked to Aiden and noped right the hell out of that and went to the other end of the bed. Maddox looked up at me and I focused on him. "Lonely. Though it's not as bad as it had been the first day of school." I added on the end.

The other guys stopped bickering and looked at Maddox. I placed my hand against the top of his head gently. His eyes closed and he pushed further into the content. I looked to Dante not taking my hand from Maddox. He nodded his head. "Hurt, sad. Scared." I finished and then I smiled "All done."
"Hey, you didn't do me yet!" Aiden jumped up in outrage.
I blushed. I wasn't a blusher, but I blushed at the thought of telling everyone how Aiden always felt. I looked down and tried to hide a smirk behind a hand. "I think everyone can see how you feel." I gestured to the luxury five-person tent in his pants.
This brought everyone's attention to Aiden's junk. I on the other hand looked everywhere else. I took a step back from Maddox. My hand fell to my side, and I tried to ignore the pang he felt at my retreat. "So, are you guys going to tell me what you are?" I repeated my question.
Aiden smirked. "My brother and I are Demons. Though we have different sins. Care to take a guess?" Aiden asked.
A shiver went down my spine from the deepness of his voice. Caden pushed him. "You're doing that on purpose now."
Aiden shrugged unapologetically. I had no idea what they were talking about, so I stayed silent. Caden answered the question so I wouldn't have to. "My sin is greed and Aiden's is lust."
I nodded like I completely understood what he was talking about and turned to evaluate Dante and Maddox.
Maddox started signing before Dante said anything. He looked somber and I could feel his self-loathing. "I am a Crocotta. It's an Arcane creature that is a mix between a lion and a hyena. We are born without voices, but we can take someone else's by devouring their soul. I've decided that I would rather be mute than do that." Maddox shivered at the thought.
The emotion coursing through him had me reaching out for him again. I pushed his hair from his forehead, ran my fingers through his hair, and rested my palm against the nape of his neck. A soft rumbling sound coming from deep within Maddox's chest made his whole body seem to vibrate. I didn't say anything about it and neither did the others even though they had quirked brows. Looking toward Dante I waited for him to decide what he wanted to tell me. I knew he trusted people even less than Maddox did. "I'm a Kitsune." He stated flatly.
I tilted my head studying him. "A nine-tailed fox? That seems fitting." I spoke softly.

His brows lowered. "What do you mean?" He questioned.
"You're lithe and graceful. Also, you're always paying attention and eavesdropping on people's conversations like a sneaky little brat." The corner of my lip tilted up.
He glared. "If you don't want people to hear your conversations don't have them in public." He quipped back.
"So, what am I?" I asked.
The guys all looked at each other before Aiden answered for them. "We have no idea. Though you come from hell obviously. Since you react the same way to the wards that my brother and I do."
I stared blankly at him. I'm from hell. Or someone in my family was anyway. I had always had some violent tendencies and I did always find some understanding for the villain in books and movies. I had always had a fascination with demonology which is how I knew the correct term for Aiden was an incubus and that Caden was a demon of mammon. These things started to make sense but then again, every time I had been violent was to protect someone else. I still knew the villains were bad and I had never wanted to meet a demon. I tilted my head from side to side considering that last part. I had definitely wanted to meet a demon. Now I was meeting two. I did a small fangirl scream in my head and moved on.
The two demons hadn't done anything to show they were evil. I hadn't even seen Aiden so much as flirt with anyone. I just knew from the feelings he always carried that he had serious control to not jump everyone within a ten-foot radius. Then again, I wouldn't mind if he did. Maybe the others would join in as well. A hot sweaty pile of bodies sounded so good right now. "I think you broke her brain. Why is she blushing now?" Caden broke the silence.
My head snapped up to meet his eyes. "That's not important." I squeaked.
"Oh, it's got to be good." Caden sat up straighter.
Dante rolled his eyes. "She was thinking about sex." My mouth dropped as I glared at him.
"How the hell do you know that?" I demanded.
Dante gave me that smirk again, "Because Aiden's pheromones are leaking out." He looked down at the obvious erection in his sweatpants.
"Shit." Aiden snapped and the urge to jump into the bed and start ripping clothes off started to fade. "Sorry guys." He scratched the back of his neck.
He felt embarrassed and guilty. "It's okay. It was an accident." I shrugged one shoulder.
Dante let out a dry laugh, "You don't understand. You would have let him take you right here in front of all of us if he had continued to let them out."
My mouth started moving before my brain could stop it. Unfortunately, that was a bad habit of mine, but I was going to blame it on the remaining pheromones in my system. "I would have asked you guys to join in too. I'm not much for spectator sports."
My face immediately burst into flames. I couldn't believe I had actually said that. What the hell was wrong with me. Besides the obvious. It had been way too long since I had been laid. They all looked at me with varying degrees of shock and lust. Making eye contact with Aiden at that moment had been a bad idea. I was suddenly thrown into his visualization. It was not one of my gifts so it must have been coming from him. I was pressed between Aiden and Caden. Both were inside of me as I took Maddox in my mouth. Dante sat and watched with hunger burning in his eyes. I flung myself out of the visual. "Why is Dante the one watching?" My traitorous mouth asked him.
Aiden blushed. An incubus blushed. It was kind of adorable. "We are so not talking about that." Aiden wouldn't make eye contact.
I was considering asking him to text me a play-by-play for personal use at a later time, but I managed to refrain. "Yeah, that's probably a good plan." I tried to subtly rub my thighs together. "Subject change. So what do I win for being the first to notice you switched places today?" I asked the twins.
Caden smirked. "You get a whole day of us being your lackeys. We will do whatever you say for a full twenty-four hours."
I frowned to myself considering what I would have them do. Probably make them do my laundry. I just hated laundry. It was the worst and after two weeks here it was starting to get pretty backed up. "When?" I studied them with an evil smirk on my face.
"We're free Saturday." Aiden offered.
A smile spread across my face. "Good. Be in my room at 9 am. Bring breakfast and maybe I will go easy on you."
After that, we settled back down to finish the movies. After the conversation and new information, I had a hard time concentrating. My mind ran over everything that had been said over and over again.
