《The Tattoo Artist ✓》Chapter Ten | 'A Dime a Dozen'

I stare at my tattoo.
And for some reason I want another one, but it cannot be today, due to the fact I am going to an opening of a club. Cathy got us VIP tickets and now she's waiting for me outside in the car. She lent me a dress, and I'm not going to lie. I love it.
My parents left town yesterday afternoon and won't be back for a week at best, I am taking full advantage. I look in the mirror, the dress is cut from a delicate lace in a sweet lavender hue and backed in my figure enhancing power mesh for modest coverage and the closest of fits.
It features a pretty sweetheart neckline with balconette cups that are underwired for the utmost support and flattering uplift. The bodice is boned throughout to cinch the waist and the satin shoulder straps adjust for the perfect fit.
The mini skirt falls to a slightly fluted hem and I love the decorative satin and lace trims for the most feminine finish. It has a zip to the back for easy on. She beeps the car horn. I groan grabbing my bag and inserting my phone inside. I slip the black heels that lace up to my knees and rush down the stairs. Tripping on my feet here and there. I close the door behind me.
I turn around and see Cathy's mouth dropped to the floor, I smile and rush to the car. I pull the handle and slide inside, "wow...you look fucking amazing. I never knew who had a snatched waist!" I chuckle pushing her shoulders. "Now I know why you're parents are forcing you to dress modestly."
"Stop." I laugh.
"I'm being serious Ali, you're body is to die for...no wonder you caught Ares' eyes." My heart flatters with his name being called out, I blush crimson and turn away as images of him touching my body come back. "I love this you, you look so happy. Now! Lets get ready to get drunk." She starts the car and drives towards a the club.
"I've never been drunk."
"Never say never, and be prepared." I look at her as she brings me a cup and a bottle of tequila. "Go ahead, feel the heat!" I take a deep breath and pour myself a shot before placing the bottle on the floor and sealing the cap. I drink the cup, coughing spurts from my mouth. Cathy shouts as she laughs, I cringe at the nasty taste.
"That is disgusting..." I wipe my mouth.
"We are already here, okay let me park." She tucks her car next to a familiar one, I feel the heat clog my throat from the drink i took earlier. I get out of the car, and the club line is bloody long. The name stood out to me.
Music could be heard from out here, I adjust my dress down my thighs. Cathy locks her arms around mine as we make our way to the entrance.
Passing the long line, I feel stares coming to my direction and I did not feel comfortable. The security stares down at us, Cathy hands him the tickets she bought and he unlinks the red hook and lets us through.

The moment we step inside, it felt amazing.
Because the dance floor is so crowded with people dancing to club music, there is no way to see it. I know I'm alive, I'm real, and reality is great with that music, that beat, and those wild, insane lights.
Cathy leads us to the bar and orders three shots. Before pouring our drinks, the bartender drapes his towel over his shoulder. "Create a tab for me!" Cathy tosses him her business card, and he winks at her before she turns to approach me.
"Is this a good idea?" I shout over the music.
"I want you to let go, feel freedom. The thrill!" I nod my head, she hands me two shot glasses before having two of her own. I down a drink, hissing at the taste. Alcohol is actually disgusting.
I'm clubbing like this is my last night on Earth, but I think that's just the way my mind avoids thinking about the hangover to come. The music moves me like I'm a puppet on strings, my head mashing so hard my brain is in shut down mode.
Thankfully, I am not sweating. The strobe masks so many of my movements, every clap of my hands like it's on pause at different moments. Tomorrow they'll be hell to pay but tonight the alcohol keeps on flowing in like it's on IV drip.
This is the most fun I have ever had, Cathy dancing around me whilst we scream at the song. I felt free. I loved it. My hands trailed down my neck, towards my chest as Cathy wraps her arms around my waist. But one thing on my mind.
Ares.
I missed his touch on my body so bad.
I missed him.
But more importantly, I haven't heard from Diavolos since.
My fingers rush through my hair, my body is hypnotised by the music. I then feel someone behind me, I snap my head around. A stranger. He takes me hands in his and pushes me against him, Cathy notices and shoves him off of me. "Touch her again and I'll kill you!" She screams at him.
"Come on, all that ass and no one to grind it on." I hide behind Cathy who pushes him again, he backs away. Holding his hand out as a surrender before turning back to his boys, he looks back at me with a disgusted smile. I see him exchange a white packet from his friend. I ignore it and we make our way to the bar, where the bartender whips us another drink. Someone slides onto the seats next to us.
"Well, aren't you both beautiful?" When his voice breaks through the music, Cathy laughs and turns to face him. He's quite attractive. Very attractive, but not as attractive as Ares. They have a striking resemblance. This man has black hair but green eyes.
"And you are?" I ask.
"Adonis, what about you two?"
"I'm Cathy, she's Ali." Cathy shouts over the music, the bartender slides my drink and I leave it for a moment, trying to focus on the conversation. "You're stunning," Cathy is definitely drunk, she would never compliment a man. Never in her life. Maybe to me but not out loud.

"Cathy, I feel like me and you are going to get along just fine." Adonis chuckles, I turn my head and grab my drink before taking a sip of it. Something felt off about it, but I ignore it since I had never had alcohol before. Maybe this is just the natural taste. Bittersweet.
As I finished the last of my drink, we returned to the dance floor, where Cathy, Adonis, and I were dancing. My head pounding, I rub my temples. As I try to continue dancing, I discover Cathy and Adonis have vanished. I make my way off the dance floor, wanting to use the restroom while looking for her. I trip over something, but continue my search for the restroom.
I look around, everything is spinning. I settle down onto one of the black chairs, taking my phone out of my bag. I go down my contacts, unable to keep my eyes open. I dial Cathy's number but she does not respond. I dial her a couple more times. Nothing. I then continue, Ares.
I press onto his number, having to force my eyes open. I press the phone to my ears, unable to hear a thing. I exit the club by the back door and into an alley way.
"Are-Ares..." I whisper out, gripping onto the wall as I pass by the smokers. My legs weakening.
I suddenly drop to the floor, "I can't feel my legs..." I hear him shuffle around.
"The-th-club-" My eyes are trembling closed, my hands lose focus from the phone as it drops out onto the floor besides me. I force my eyes open, trying to fight it off. I sit up, groaning in pain. Trying to find my phone, then suddenly.
I am surrounded by four pairs of feet, I drag my eyes up and I see the same man who was hitting on me from the club. He crouches down and grabs my jaw, "where's your little fire cracker of a friend now?" He chuckles throwing my face to the side.
His friends laugh along with him, I feel his lips press on my cheeks. I groan, trying to lift my arms but unable to fight him. "Y-You drugged me." I whisper out. Come on Alex! Gain some strength. Fear lights up in my body.
I was scared.
"Clever little girl, now...spread your legs for us."
He's about to touch my legs before he is thrown backwards, his friends snaps their heads. And as I saw Ares striking the blonde guy in the face, my heart could finally breathe.
Over and over and over again.
Ares crushes his foot into the man's face as he yells in agony. My body falls to the ground, and now everything is side way view. Ares grabs his hands and if i am correct, breaks it.
Screams of pain erupt, one of the blond guys friends go to attack Ares but is caught by the neck. Ares stands up and as he does, he lifts the guy up. "Ares...fuck I'm sorry man!"
"Touch her again. And I'll kill you."
He throws the guy into the concrete wall, then makes his way to me. My body is paralysed, Ares crouches down and slides me into his arms as he lifts me up bridal style. My head falls onto his chest, a tear slides down my eyes. "Ares...I can't move..." I whisper.
"It's okay princess."
"I tried to call Cathy but-she didn't answer.."
He opens his car door, and slides me inside. I physically could not move, that drug paralysed me from neck to legs. "Eímai edó tóra agápi mou." He mumbles, dragging the seatbelt across my chest as he clicks it in. He hunches over me, grazing my cheeks. "You're safe princess, I'm right here okay." I nod my head.
"Hey! What the fuck! That's my friend!" His head snaps back to the voice, I turn my head and see Cathy rushing towards us. She pushes onto Ares' chest.
"She's now your friend, yet you never answered the phone when she called!" My pupils dilate; I've never seen Ares so enraged. Cathy turns to face me, but I turn away.
She left me for a make out session considering she knew it was my first time in a club. I could have been harmed. She did not prioritise me like she should have, she didn't even tell me where she was going.
"She got drugged and she can't even move, and was nearly fucking sexually assaulted. A good friend you are." He shuts my door, before opening the drivers and settling inside.
"Ali! Ali!" She calls my name, she slams her hands onto the window. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to leave you!"
Ares looks down at me, he shrugs of his jacket and lifts my body to put it around my bare shoulders, he slips my arms inside and zips it up. He then starts the car, switches on heating seats for me as if he knew I was cold.
And turns his wheel as he exits out onto the road, I couldn't help the tears fall from my eyes. I feel his hands interlock with mine. He kept one hand on the wheel, both eyes focused on the road. One stopped in traffic, he takes out his phone and dials someone.
"Come to the apartment." He ends the call and throws his phone into the potholder, and drives.
"I thought you-" my eyes are closing before i could even finish of my sentence.
"Princess." The car stops, he pats my face softly. I try to open my eyes, "open your eyes." He speaks. Grabbing something from the back, and then spilt water dribbles on my face. My eyes shoot open, "drink." He holds the bottle to my mouth, and I take small sips.
"There you go." I felt better.
